Me and the my wife went here for Mother's Day and had a good experience. The hostess and server were nice. She kept checking on us to make sure everything was good. She ordered one of the seafood boil bag specials and I ordered a fried shrimp & fish basket with fries. Food was hot & seasoned well as we ate off each others plate.

We have been here twice now. Great seafood place. Service was very good. This time I ordered the coconut shrimp and crab meat fries. The coconut comes with a romoulade and it is sweet with a hint of spicy...very good. The fries have a great taste. Don't expect chunks of crab meat though. The crab meat I'd describe more like finely shredded. The first time I came I ordered the shrimp po boy. The taste was very good but the shrimp are large shrimp not small.

The food was subpar, especially for the price and the service was worse. Will not return.

Good staff and food is great. Calamari sometimes can be a little over cooked but otherwise the food is great.

Pretty good food. It's a basic chain seafood place. I'd go back again as the food tasted good and it was quick to come out.

Best crab legs I've probably had! Taste and flavor: I got the garlic butter, medium, it was delicious and flavorful & I will definitely get it with the lil kick in the future. I used to always get mild. Freshness of ingredients: hubs says the crawfish are super fresh & best he's had. Crab legs and shrimp (head off) were great. Portion sizes: always just a tiny bit too much or you'll feel like you're gonna bust wide open... But at least you get to eat whatever tastes the best to you. I left a potato and a half. (lol) Presentation: it looks cool when it comes out marinating in your chosen sauce in a bag. My bag had a hole in it, though, so I ended up with butter on my shirt Menu variety: not an absolute ridiculously huge variety but there are several options seafood and non Service: Typically leaves a lil to be desired. Granted, if you get a meal it typically all comes together so all you'll need are drink refills and maybe salt or pepper. But, I get a lil antsy when my food is getting cold & I'm waiting for drink. Attentiveness of staff: see above Friendliness and courtesy: Everyone is typically polite but no one seems to go out of their way to make you feel special or anything. C'est la vie. Knowledge of the menu: I didn't ask any questions... So Idk? Speed of service: great! Food came out super quick & was delicious Ambiance: it's pretty cool, I guess Atmosphere and decor: I dig the decor & it follows a nautical theme Noise level: average Lighting: not so good, honestly. I'm fairly sure in a few years I'll be stuck using my phone flashlight to light the menu Price: kinda expensive, but worth it - unless you're getting all you can eat, then moderately expensive, maybe or maybe not worth it, depending on how much you can eat... Value for money: pretty decent, I mean it is a lot of food Price point relative to quality: lines up imo Cleanliness of the restaurant: always seems clean Accessibility: easily accessible Location: easy to get to, sometimes hard to turn left out of, but relatively a good locale

In the case of Succotash we feel we have found the holy grail... Friendly, knowledgeable waitstaff? check Homey and a little funky atmosphere? check cool soundtrack? check BUT what about the food? We first came for brunch... I had the 'Brisket and Grits'. It was a very tender brisket with cheesy, garlicky grits, scallions with fried egg. The best part? They drizzle some of the brisket gravy over the grits... Oh man this was delish. We got talking about South Louisiana food with our server and he told us they bring in Leidenheimers french bread from New Orleans for their po-boy's. What's the big deal? ...I'll tell you! The bakery was founded in 1896 and it is the ONLY bread that marks a true po-boy to New Orleans natives. Why? Because of it's unique texture. Their loaves have a pillowy soft interior and a crunchy crust that isn't found in most french breads. It's the gold standard for po-boys. So today, I came back to Succotash for an Oyster po-boy. And the Verdict? Five stars mon ami! Leidenheimers bread with a very generous amount of perfectly fried oysters. ...I like mine simple with just lettuce, tomato and a little hot sauce. This was I can honestly say, the very best oyster po-boy I have found outside of NOLA. ... so yeah, I've found a new home... thanks and a tip o' the hat to Chef Juan DiGiulio and the great staff he has brought together!

While the food was good, it didn't knock my socks off. And they're definitely more of a creole restaurant than a southern one. There are better cajun/Creole restaurants in the RTP area. I was going to order the creole gumbo, but found out when I came in that it was a seafood gumbo today not their regular one. Oh well. So I ordered jambalaya with a side of red beans and rice. Both were good but a little dry and I've had better nearby. The fresh catch of the Day was Amber Jack, and I love that fish, so maybe I should've ordered that in a Poboy. Might come back to try some of their other offerings.

We started with 3 dozen Daily Happy Oysters, which at $9 per half dozen. The Southern Salt oysters were incredibly briny. I don't mind a salty oyster, but these crossed into overwhelmingly salty territory and masked some of the nuanced flavors I usually look for. The snacks, however, were absolutely spot on. The Crawfish Hushpuppies arrived piping hot with a crisp exterior and tender center, loaded with crawfish flavor. The Crispy Frog Legs were equally impressive--perfectly fried, wonderfully seasoned with tom yum spice and vadouvan, and paired with a Vietnamese mayo that tied everything together beautifully. To wash it all down, we enjoyed a few beers, including a crisp pilsner, a refreshing wheat beer, and a local IPA that paired nicely with the oysters and fried snacks. Service deserves a special mention. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable without being overbearing. They kept the oyster trays moving and made sure drinks never sat empty for long. Overall, St. Roch delivers a fun oyster bar experience with happy hour pricing, creative snacks, and top-notch service. If the Southern Salt oysters had been a little more balanced, this would have easily been a 5-star visit.
