Come here from time to time for a quick dinner after grocery shopping at the Hmart in the same parking lot. I tried their crab roe items previous thanks to the social media hype, but enjoyed their other menu items a bit more (maybe because I've only recently stopped being allergic to crab). The salted crispy chicken was delicious and the wontons were great too! The fish soup for the wontons were very milky (reminded me of bone broth but eith fish) and the wontons didn't have too much stuffing. The bandana noodles were good too, just wished it was spicier. Great food and everything we ordered was delicious. We were a group of ten so we shared a variety of dishes. We also went early as we were told it can get busy on the weekends. They give you some peanuts and pickled radish to snack on. Ordering is easy using the kiosk provided on the table. The noodles and soup dumplings were perfect. The crab toe over rice or noodles were outstanding and was the highlight of our meal. Would return to enjoy this dish again. The sizzling tofu was tasty and soft, another favorite of mine. Let me explain why I am giving one star. The place is over rated and overly expensive. I have frequented the twin restaurant (Wu's Fish House) that share the kitchen. Wu's is more or less reasonably priced. At Crab house I had the tasteless but expensive crab roe over noodle. My son had some crab dish that had minimal meat. The crab "soup dumplings" were dry, the drinks over priced, and the squirrel fish was the same as at Wu's. My Chinese friend from mainland claims both restaurants simply nuke prepared foods. What is surprising is that 99% of the patrons in both places are Asian. The menus for both places are not on line, and ordering is via an iPad in both English and Chinese. Perhaps the menu is dynamic depending on what prepared food the places receive for the day ? I know seafood is expensive, but frankly I've had better crabs at UMI or even Sakura in North Brunswick. read more

Crab House (connected to Fish House) is one of those spots getting a lot of buzz online, especially for their crab roe over rice and noodles--and yes, the hype is real. We got both versions, and they absolutely delivered. The roe sauce is rich, briny, and deeply savory, coating every bite of rice and noodles with a luxurious, ocean-y umami. It's bold but well-balanced--definitely a standout. We also ordered the acorn squirrel fish, which reminded us of a sweet-and-sour whole fish. Super crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and served with a bright, tart sauce that had just the right kick. Really flavorful and satisfying. They do offer a seafood boil here, which we didn't get this time, but it looked and smelled amazing at nearby tables--something we'd come back for. The glass noodles with crab, however, didn't quite match the rest. The noodles were soft and infused with mushroom flavor, which was a bit overpowering, and the crab itself didn't add much--barely any meat and not a ton of impact. Just OK. Ambience is minimal but clean. Not a lot of frills, but it works. Service was alright--not rude, but a bit inattentive. We had to follow up on rice we ordered with the fish, which took a while to arrive. All in all, a strong 4 stars. This restaurant is a new addition to the plaza, and we were curious to try it out. The owners also run Wu's Fish House next door, and they share the same kitchen. We ordered crab roe soup dumpling buns and crab roe tofu over rice. While waiting, we were given appetizers: peanuts, pickled radishes, and marinated cloud ears, with the latter standing out the most. After a lengthy wait, I asked about our order, and the waitress apologized, explaining they had limited cooks. We finally received the crab roe tofu over rice, which my husband and I shared. The flavor was delicious, but the mushy rice was disappointing. It was also puzzling that our appetizers were served after our main entree. We waited a while, sipping tea ($3) before the waitress brought out the soup dumplings. The dumplings were very good, with on-point flavor. I recommend not using the fish sauce, as it disrupts the delicate taste. The skin was thicker than expected, but the dumplings were still sublime. Although the restaurant offers more than crab roe dishes, we focused on these for our first visit. We were quite happy with our selections. Came across this place and were guided to a table by the hostess, who then realized the table had plates and nothing was cleared. We sat for like 10-15 minutes in the bench and finally seated. The service throughout the dinning experience is what made me give this restaurant a 3/5. The staff service was really delayed and some plates never even came to us, we ended up canceling them. Overall the food we ordered wasn't anything to rave to home about. It was average, but we were so hungry. My love for seafood brought me to this new restaurant conveniently located in the hmart shopping center. It is on the 2nd floor above the korean skincare store. The restaurant actually shared the same space as the fish house. One side is the fish house and the other side is the crab house. We it's for the crab house because it was something different. We were seated at the window with a great view of the shopping center. It wasn't all that busy around 12pm on a Saturday. We ordered the crab roe over noodles, can roe and roast pork soup dumplings, and sweet and sour pork ribs. Woke waiting for our order, they brought our salted peanuts, black fungus salad, and this pickled dish. Loved the black fungus salad. It was light and refreshing! The pickled dish wasn't something I would normally gravitate towards so it was barely touched. The soup dumplings and crab roe noodles came out first. At first sight, the amount of noodles that came with the crab roe was very little. I know crab roe is expensive but they could of given more noodles, which is relatively cheap. Overall price for this dish was $32.95 so although it was very delicious, it 32.95 wasn't worth the price for the portion size. There wasn't much flavor to the crab roe and roasted duck soup dumplings. There was a slight duck flavor which definitely covered up the crab roe flavor. I would recommend just getting the plain crab roe dumplings on their own. Last dish was the sweet and sour pork ribs, which was very flavorful and tender. The meat was fall off the bone and the sauce was more of a tomato sauce. Overall, an OK place to check out but don't expect to walk away feeling full. All serving sizes are quite small for the price so something to keep in mind if you decide to give this place a try. read more

Everything came out luke warm and the noodles was cold. The idea is good, but feels like everything was just prepackaged and warmed back up then served. All the things I ordered were great. I got the seaweed salad and crab cakes for starters. I ate alone but these two appetizers are probably portioned to be shared by at least two people. The eel rice bowl came out a little later than I thought it would but it was hot. Unfortunately it wasn't as my hopes had been tricked to expect it to look like accompanied by broccoli as on the ipad menu picture. Upon asking staff told me that it was just a picture. I might get a plate of broccoli next time if I come with a party as the broccoli and carrots really did the menu picture justice in selling it to me. Other than that service was fine, I don't like to be bothered every five minutes by staff asking about the food and I was only ever approached by staff when they had my food since I ordered everything from the ipad. Chinese music was playing in an otherwise quiet and vacant restaurant at least before 3 pm on a Thursday. I would like to visit again. After our order was ordered, complementary appetizers of black fungus, pickled turnip and roasted peanuts were placed on the table. Unfortunately the wait for our order of Crab Roe Dumplings and Crab Roe with Tofu over rice took some time. The explanation given was many of the chefs were off. This was a Tuesday afternoon. The Crab Roe with Tofu over rice was pure comfort food.....crabby, salty with frozen peas over a hefty serve of wet, sticky rice.
