It's Cracker Barrel..... if you don't love it, it's you, not them! I can't say enough about it. Great food, not always great for you, at a reasonable price. Anyone on the highways will always pass a Cracker Barrel. If you've never stopped in, give it a go. If you have, then you already know what I mean. I have two "go-to" menu items that I go for one or the other. Momma's French Toast Breakfast or Momma's Pancake Breakfast. I always get a side of their sausage patties because they are phenomenal on their own or, if you're like me, they go great with Cracker Barrel Maple Syrup. The French Toast is light and plentiful. It doesn't have cinnamon which isn't a problem for me, but some people just don't like cinnamon. Although I'll never understand those people, they have a right to their own personal tastes. Butter and Maple Syrup complete the meal beautifully. Cracker Barrel Pancakes are their own. The recipe is good but it's the preparation that is the key. I suspect that they are made on the griddle with a lot of butter. The outside of the cakes are almost fried-like with a little bit of crunch to them. Like the French Toast, the Pancakes paired with generous amounts of Butter and Maple Syrup make these an absolute dream. Cracker Barrel serves Breakfast all day long. They do have Lunch/Dinner items as well, but I've only had a few other things. I can say that their Fried Chicken is also outstanding. They've also got a lot of great sides to choose from. And, if you like, they also have a selection of alcoholic beverages to choose from. I can't list them because I've never ordered any. Given that I'm usually on the road when I stop in, and I'm typically eating a breakfast item, alcohol doesn't mix well with either driving or breakfast. The service is pretty much the same at every Cracker Barrel. Fast and friendly. They have a system down for what they're doing and it seems very consistent from location to location. And then there is the Country Store. If you have a long wait for a table, you'll be able to amuse yourself and kill time by going through the Country Store. You'll find everything from classic candy and toys that you didn't think existed anymore, to clothes, John Deere merch, food, holiday gifts and much more. Would I go back? After going on about it for the last 5 minutes, I want to go back now! Cracker Barrel is great for a quick stop while on the road when you simply don't want fast food garbage or it's great for a family/friend get together. No matter your tastes or eating habits, they will have something for everyone. read more

It's busy and loud, which is typical for Sunday. Our server, Felicia, has a bit of an attitude problem. So far the only interactions that we got is her taking our order and bringing it out. She hasn't checked in on us once. She didn't even see if we wanted or needed anything else after the food has been delivered. We had to ask another server for things. read more

Not a fan of country style cooking but I do like there breakfasts and on Fridays they have fried cod that we love. The noise level can be off putting and other times it's fine. They pack alot of people in same room with very little distance apart. So you are hearing them and they are hearing you. read more

So I visited CB after almost a decade and boy it brought back memories. Not sure why this place has such low ratings. I love the whole idea of going through their fancy little shop before going into the dining area. There is something for everyone. My kids picked up some digger drink while I got a couple of souvenirs. The restaurant itself is no frills attached very old school country vibes, I definitely appreciated that after living in a busy city life environment for many years. Our server was fantastic she kept checking on us every few minutes. Even got the girls some candy sticks complimentary. The restaurant is very well staffed and food doesn't take too long to come out. We ordered a fried food sampler it was pretty good something I wouldn't order at a breakfast place but my daughter wanted to eat it. Coming down to the main I ordered eggs with steak it was phenomenal. It tasted fresh delicious and the portion was perfect. The steak was so well seasoned and please don't expect it to be a some high end quality steak but for the price it was a ten. I also ordered their pancakes and I can safely say they have to be amongst the best pancakes I ever ate. I'm definitely going back for them. Bathroom was clean. Lots of parking outside. How can you go wrong with Cracker Barrel? It's old-fashioned home-cooked food you could have breakfast at any time the atmosphere feels like you're at your granny's house. There is no M beyond it just feels like you're over your granny or your auntie's house but the food is delicious. The chicken and dumplings are highly recommend. Instead of a traditional egg Benedict this came with a biscuit, bacon, hollandaise sauce (which we asked for extra and was told they can't. I ordered the daily special of chicken and rice. My friend got the meatloaf. I got broccoli and mac and cheese with mine. My broccoli was soggy and cold. The first bite of my chicken was cold. The server took it back and said she watched them prepare it over after asking if I wanted it microwaved. Really?? I have to have almost a 14.00 plate microwaved to bring to a safe eating temp. The rice underneath was hard and crunchy. The mac and cheese was wonderful and very hot. Meatloaf was good my friend said but really small portion. The server was ok but would disappear frequently. I was not happy with mac and cheese and cornbread for dinner but hey will not go back and would not recommend. The restroom was filthy and almost out of tp. There was no wait time and I know why. Do not waste your time or money. I give one star for our service which was adequate. The food however, was not worth it. My wife had creole shrimp and grits, which should have had some spice but instead we're sweet. The garlic bread she had was on a sweet bread. I had country fried steak with mashed potatoes and gravy. Gravy was congealing and breaking, steak was bland, mashed potatoes were nearly in edible. My husband amd I decided last minute to hea dout for brunch. Apon our arrival, we were not greated but just asked how many. Once we were seated at a table the waitress spoke to us and said phrases that I would expect to come from family or close friends. Once she came back to the table I let her know that my husband fries has been forgotten as well as my gravy she then replied with "I got you girl!" A phrase that I would most certainly expect to come from a girlfriend or family. There was no apology for forgetting part of our meals. It was as if she could have cared less. Im not particularly picky, however I do feel that the lack of professionalism has progressed throughout the waiting staff community. I only hope I have a better experience next time read more

Mediocre through and through. Cold or lukewarm food and slow service that ignores basics. We ate here on a Tuesday afternoon around 5. I ordered the "value dinner" (small portion) meatloaf with turnip greens and hash browns. Meatloaf was fairly tasty but was indeed a slim, downsized portion. The hash browns were non descript and almost flavorless like a box mix from the store, and the greens were very dry and had little juice. Both sides were just barely warm. One of the biscuits was warmed so poorly that half of it was as hard as drywall. Also the server never brought requested honey. She did eventually bring BBQ sauce and vinegar for the greens. Stopped in for dinner on Saturday around 7:30pm , 4 adults & 3 kids. Waited approx 25min for a table. Our waitress Natalie was awesome! She was quick, friendly, and helpful with recommendations on food. Took a star from my review since the kid's confetti pancakes came out burnt and hard. They didn't even want to eat them. Natalie was understanding and took them from our bill. When paying the bill the young man at the server station was super friendly and chatted with us while we waited. Braxton was great his trainee was attentive and interactive paying close attention to Braxtons lead and training. Even when the trainee made and error Braxton apologized and instructed with care and patience. The error was getting behind on our order which was in no way to say they weren't paying attention but that i had speed up my order. Definitely having Braxton train is a great decision. Drew - I love Cracker Barrel. I always came here with my grandma as a kid, and the nostalgia is still there. The shop is sweet, just as I remember and the decor is on point. Service was great, our waitress got us anything we needed. Food was pretty good too. I got the pancakes, which always hit with their syrup. Bacon eggs and hash browns. Hash browns were the Tiniest burnt, still good tho. Eggs were alright, but the biscuits were super fluffy. Kylee - I got the chicken tenders and fries. Fries were really good, chicken had like no meat, basically just fried bread. Literally only had like 3 bites of chicken. Overall a good experience, I'll make sure my gf gets some actual food next time, only complaint is the old men in there. Well Middletown hostess doesn't understand the Yelp app in line. She got irritated when I showed her. The app reply. Yes they happened to be a little busy for a Friday morning at 10:50. I couldn't get to the hostess so I used the the app to put myself in line. But we worked our way up and didn't cut anyone off.The phone just rang & rang & rang with none stop. They need a person just to answer the phone calls.This store has had issues for the last 6 months like ever other restaurant. The food was out timely, hot & good. After waiting 45 minutes to get our order, everything was cold. The table behind us told me that they waited for over an hour. We called the manager over to see what was the problem and he said he would check on it. We never saw him again until we were walking out. He and the waiter were hiding in the kitchen doorway. He could at least came out and apologize but he is probably used to all of the complaints. If you can't keep the proper amount of staff, why open the doors. read more

I have eaten at Cracker Barrel for decades and loved it. However our Middletown store has been slowly going downhill in the past few years. Management needs to start with a thorough cleaning. The restroom has a very bad smell. The dining room has dirt and grime. My mother and I ordered the meatloaf dinner a few weeks ago and it was so bad that I requested a talk with the manager. The meatloaf was full of gristle and globs of fat. Manager acted annoyed that I would bring it to his attention. I'm thinking that they've downgraded the type of meat that they're using. I'm also thinking that I won't be eating at Cracker Barrel for a long long time. You need to clean your store and go back to your good quality food! Sorry but goodbye. read more

Went for brunch with my brother. Order grilled chicken strips, dumplings, and mac and cheese. Got biscuits and sweet tea. Waitress was very good at keeping our drinks filled and friendly. Food on the other hand was horrible!!! Obviously, cooks just don't care or management don't care or both. Plating the food was terrible! My brother took a look at his and his turkey was drenched in gravy running into other food. (he got the Thursday special). My chicken tenders were dry and hard, mac and cheese was mushy, dumplings were mushy and dried out. The only good thing was the biscuits and tea. I would have said something but, my brother gets on me when I say anything about my meals I order if they are wrong etc. He treats me out time to time.
