I came back for dinner and wow what a difference. Beth, our waitress was so attentive. She suggested menu items for us, took the time to actually engage with us, was friendly, she was great overall! My wife and I go out for breakfast every Wednesday morning We're looking for a different location a different experience while driving down Sheridan Street in Pembroke Pines. We saw a sign for Cracker Barrel. We decided to give it a try we haven't eaten there in over 30 years and didn't remember why we stopped. Once we went and sat down and looked at the menu. We realized why we haven't been there in a long time. First let me say the service was excellent. She was attentive explain questions we had and we kind of figured out an order and waiting for our coffee. Our coffee came quickly. We were only given 2 creams each. It's a strange menu were placed as known for breakfast. There are no omelettes and very few choices and eggs one choice of French toast, one choice of pancakes. My wife and I stayed at the Hampton Inn next door which is next door.....we were here in May and the breakfast was outstanding!!!! Today we are back at the same location, but unfortunately this Cracker Barrel has changed the cook for the worst...... The delicious pancakes we had back in May are not the same....what a disappointment.....the bacon was cold and cakes were not totally cooked and their coffee was water down......when I got the bill I noticed it was $33.45. Upon checking the bill, the coffee was $3.79. I don't mind paying for something that is worth it, but what a shame!!!!! We are NOT coming back to this dump. read more

The waitress Rolanda was super friendly and very quick with getting our drinks and order in so we weren't sitting around waiting long whatsoever! One of our favorite places for breakfast. Visited on a Sunday morning. You must be wondering how long was the wait. Well surprisingly, we were called in less then 10 minutes once we arrived because we signed up on the waitlist through the app. Our waiter was very nice and attentive that my coffee mug was filled to the rim. Ordered the old timers breakfast with a side of the hashbrown casserole. Food was served in less than 15 min. Eggs were a little overcooked but my fault for not specifying how I like them. After we were done with breakfast, shopped around for a bit in their country store. They have soo many cute things that you cannot walk away with out buying some. This is definitely not the same Cracker Barrel we all know and love. Cracker Barrel is a classic-nostalgic, comforting, and always great food. I'm giving this a high rating because of all of my previous experiences with Cracker Barrel, but it's unfortunately changed a lot. First, they've completely redone the look. It was completely unrecognizable inside. I really don't know why they thought this was a good idea. Most of the appeal of Cracker Barrel and its entire brand is its unique nostalgic charm. It's like its personality was taken away. I went in with a large group and everybody was sad about the change. Cracker Barrel is one of those unique restaurants that's very good at both breakfast and lunch/dinner. I love the breakfast sampler options, so you can get a good variety. I got the grandma's sampler with pancakes, fried apples (one of the best things on their menu), eggs, sausage, bacon, and country ham. The country ham had no flavor which is unusual, but everything else was really good with big portions. I also got the s'mores latte, which is a seasonal option. I expected it to be really sweet, but it wasn't, which was a little weird. Our waitress was Ebony, and she was awesome! Overall it was still good, but I was definitely disappointed in the decor and food not being what I'm used to from Cracker Barrel. Very disappointed. This used to be one of our favorite breakfast spots, but the food quality has gone downhill. The hash brown casserole was undercooked, the ham was dry and cold, the pancakes were cold, and the coffee was watery. I hope they bring back the quality they used to have. read more

My family decided to give the restaurant a second go-round this weekend. The restaurant was busy, yet they were able to secure a Table right away. Our waiter "Mark" whose real name is to long to pronounce, was very cordial and respectful. His demeanor was excellent. The food arrived adequately and with the right temperature. We were told the menu was updated and I liked the new menu. A lunch menu was also provided. The selection was good and iconic. It had been over 12 years since I stepped into a Cracker Barrel, and what a disappointment. first, we were seated at a dirty table on top and under the table and my foot slipped on cucumbers on the floor. We had no cutlery on the table or napkins, the server came to our table not friendly at all as we were ordering our drinks walked away to another table, and left us talking to ourselves, when she came back no apology whatsoever, when she came back with our drinks I mentioned the dirty table and that we needed cutlery nothing said back. The server took our order and left and didn't ask for choices of cornbread or biscuits but we let that be. when she came back with my salad practically, threw it on the table, and walked away again I was trying to speak asking for cutlery to no avail. Food arrives my food order is wrong I tell the server and she gets annoyed Also, for cutlery she brings 2 forks wrapped in 1 napkin for both of us, at this point, I am annoyed so I pull the napkins I had in my purse we had to share the steak knife that came with my food. Food I asked for a Steak and chicken Sampler, with Broccoli and a salad they brought Mac & Cheese instead so that was an inconvenience for her to change, and the Chicken Tender and Tips with the Mac & Cheese and steak fries. The food was horrible I asked for my steak to be medium I got well done over seasoned salty to the max I Had to scrape the seasoning off and still could not eat it, the chicken was ok. the other plate of steak fries was stale. The biscuits were ok not fresh. The only good thing that saved this review of 1 star, was the store, service was great and so many awesome things to buy. I like the country fried chicken and the turkey dinner they offer on Thursday. I adore their turnip greens. I could eat a whole bowl of them. Cracker Barrel is not what it used to be. I thought this last time I visited as well, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt, hoping there would be changes. I used to come here because of many factors, including taste of food, portion size, and hospitality. Honestly, all of these things have gone downhill. The taste of the food has changed somewhat. I'm always angry when restaurants change their recipe when it was so good to begin with. Hashbrowns aren't as tasty as they used to be (tiny portion), the biscuits are a different recipe, and the steak taste was off. The portion size has gotten significantly smaller throughout the years. I remember coming and getting a full plate of food and now they definitely have cut way back. The hospitality has declined as well, and although my experiences over the last few years, haven't been terrible, they're not the friendly Cracker Barrel hospitality I came accustomed to over the years. A lot of the staff seem annoyed. The one thing that hasn't changed is the ambience. You still get that country vibe with all your favorite candies along the wall with a crowd waiting to be seated. Whenever I'm feeling some comfort food it's always a good choice. I've been going here for years & still crave it weekly. Whether I get the delicious mac & cheese, fried shrimp platter, chicken & French toast or any of their breakfast plates, it hits the spot every time. Their sweet tea is also worth a mention. Usually everything is prepared in a timely manner but sometimes their service is slow here. The dining area is about the same size as most other locations & this one is always kept clean. The employees are nice & do a good job at getting your order accurately. I've had a couple problems with to-go orders not having everything they should so it's a good idea to double check for yourself before leaving. I always like checking out the gift shop for vintage candies & knick-knacks that you can't find elsewhere. Although some things are overpriced it's still fun to see what they have. You'll be sure to find some cool stuff especially during Halloween & Christmas time. read more

Magnificent as always. This particular location, although found in the middle of suburban Broward county, manages to offer still a sense of the old south since it faces 1-75. When you sit, like we did, on the rocking chairs in front and the breeze hits you from the right angle, you can't help but feel like you're sitting somewhere deep in Memphis, Tennessee or Birmingham, Alabama, rather than 10 miles off Miami. Luckily, we got there early enough for the place not to be packed, but as soon as we ordered a rush came of people came in. Which is typical of any Cracker Barrel. We ordered the Grandpas' Country Fried Breakfast Steak. Two of them. It was delicious. Perfect for a Monday morning. I also ordered the seasonal hot chocolate. It was creamy, smooth and delicious! Additionally, we complete the order with strawberry mimosa! All in all? I highly recommend this location. And like we did, once done eating and satisfied, take some time off, seat on the rocking chairs, in front and let your kind transport you far off into a southern landscape of pleasantries. Extremely disappointing experience at this location. As a regular Cracker Barrel customer who visits other locations without issue, this was unnecessarily complicated and frustrating. Multiple system failures: * App wouldn't work (demanded non-existent update) * Inventory systems disconnected (website showed items as available when they weren't) * Called for phone order, told to use app, app failed, redirected to website Poor service recovery: * Roast beef "ran out" after I'd already ordered and paid online * Manager only offered a drink as compensation for the major inconvenience * Final order was wrong - manager removed entire meal instead of replacing as discussed SERIOUS FOOD SAFETY ISSUE: Found a green bean in my fried apples container when I didn't order any green beans. This suggests cross-contamination problems that could be dangerous for people with allergies. In addition, the sides were served cold. Bottom line: This location has operational and food safety issues that other Cracker Barrel locations don't have. The combination of technical failures, inventory problems, inflexible management support, and cross-contamination makes this unacceptable. I'll stick to other locations. WOW!!!! The NEWLY renovated Cracker Barrel was amazing!!! When I walked in and noticed new flooring, seats and tables, fresh paint (love the color scheme) I was in true "awe" Very impressed!!! Regardless I've always been a true fan of this place because their food is just perfect for me but now I can definitely see myself wanting to go more often. Their service and ambiance was 10/10. I came for brunch with my daughter and Cracker Barrel never disappoints, the food is consistently delicious and the service was excellent. Our waitress did not introduce herself when she got to the table, and was being very pushy when asking for our drinks. We asked for a spiked lemonade and got a regular lemonade. We also asked for 2 French Toast Lattes, one iced and one hot, the hot latte was brought in a regular drinking glass and we asked for a mug afterwards, when the waitress brought the drink, she placed it on the table roughly. We ordered biscuits and corn bread appetizer and our entrees got here before. There were a few tables that sat after us and got their entrees and coffee refilled multiple times. Our entrees came before our biscuits and cornbread, and we had no silverware. We ordered a hash brown casserole plain (only bacon, eggs and hash brown), it came with onions... We ordered bacon and egg hash brown casserole and we got a steak and egg casserole. When we told the waitress it was wrong, she questioned it and grabbed the plate, once again roughly.
