This was my second time here and I ended up bringing my cousin while they were visiting. I really enjoyed the overall experience from the arrival to the introduction of the team, service throughout the meal even their attention when you're leaving to go to the restroom! Made a reservation online and it is a full deposit upon making a reservation. They request you to fill out a get to know form listing out any allergies or anything that they need to be aware of. I personally do not care for cilantro and so they reached out further with an email to say hey can you let us know which person in your party has this preference. When we had that course in the menu they did specifically let me know it did not have cilantro, My cousin really enjoyed being able to see them make everything in front of you from slicing the fish to tenderizing the octopus to then pulling out the final product and tasting it. Everything was just wonderful. We each did a pairing. I did the reserve wine pairing. He did the reserve sake pairing. Every glass went really well with the selections they had and the sake he also enjoyed with his meal. The service goes to a different level with them being extremely aware of what's going on and including being able to hang your purse on the walls you can have your hands and lap free. When you go to the ladies room they actually will open the door for you and when I returned the door started opening as I approached. somehow magically. That was quite fantastic. I've been to several Omakase in the Austin area and Crafts' service definitely sets them at the top of the list,

If you're able to snag a reservation here you won't be disappointed and definitely won't leave hungry. Amazing quality nigiri and Japanese dishes in a very intimate setting. It's nestled in an unassuming space and the entrance is around the back. Service was impeccable and while pricey worth the splurge for a special occasion.

After exploring the Austin sushi scene extensively, I can confidently say that Craft Omakase has officially claimed my #1 spot. It is immediately clear why they received Michelin recognition; the entire evening was a masterclass in precision and hospitality. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between high-end elegance and an intimate, welcoming vibe. Every bite of the progression felt incredibly purposeful--nothing was there just for show. The fish quality is unparalleled, and the chefs do a phenomenal job of explaining the lineage and preparation of each piece without making the experience feel rushed. Pro Tip: Do not skip the sake tasting. It was expertly curated to complement the flavor profiles of the nigiri and truly elevated the meal. While some Omakase spots can leave you feeling either overwhelmed or still hungry, the portions here were absolutely perfect. You leave feeling satisfied and impressed by the artistry. If you are looking for the gold standard of sushi in Austin, this is it. I'm already looking forward to my next reservation!

What an incredible experience! My husband and I booked a reservation about a month in advanced for a 5pm seating on a Thursday. We were running a few minutes late, but it was just in time for a few sips of the welcome beverage and to be seated in the dining area. The welcome beverage was a sparking wine cocktail. Light and refreshing! The dining area seats 12 people. Service overall is top notched. 22 courses is a lot for 2 hours, but they keep the dishes flowing and moving. They also take care of any dietary restrictions. My husband and I opted to share a wine reserve pairing and it was SOOOO good with the omakase. My favorites were the otoro with caviar, the tartare and the smoked mackerel. I like how they add a small curry and aguachile dish in the mix. I was pretty satisfied by the end of the night. They also give you the menu at the end with a special shoutout for whatever you're celebrating! 2 hours flew by but so well worth it.

THE BIG: Crafted perfectly (no pun intended). One michelin starred restaurant and rightfully so. Tastefully minimalist interior with a big half square dining bar area for the guests. Parking is available in the lot outside. THE BLACK AND WHITE: My wife and I booked a reservation for Craft for her birthday. We got a reservation as soon as they opened back up from their holiday break. They do 3 slots per day. One at 5pm, 7pm and 9pm. We got the 5pm since we had to go back to a young newborn afterwards. When we walked in, we were greeted with a welcome sparkling wine beverage. Then we were escorted to our seats in the dining area. This was a 22 course menu with service that was impeccable. My favorite bites from the meal was the tartare tartlet, the burst of umami set this bite apart. Then the scallop, otoro, and chu toro. Really hard to beat the toros when it comes to tuna. At the end of the meal, the servers came by and gave us personalized cards that were signed by the staff. Very cute and definitely left a great taste in our mouth. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall, the damage done was around $700 with tip and a reserve wine tasting. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and I'd definitely be back here again for another sushi omakase fix.

4.5 stars Just went back a second time and this time it was definitely better than the first time. The fish was all very buttery, soft, and delicious. My fave was the otoro. The chefs were very engaging.

The experience itself was pretty straightforward - you show up, you enjoy everything the chefs have in mind for you, then you leave, happy. Unlike some of the other omakase establishments in town, there were no extras, no add ons, what you see is what you get. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a welcome drink, then were shown to our seatings. The intimate 12-seat setting was about the same size as other Omakase places we've been to. Reservations are not that hard to get in advanced (at least not as difficult as Tsuke). The 22-course meal heavily features a combination of fresh seafood and dried age fish, with condiments and flavors that complement the tastes and textures of the fish very well. Each bite was something different, which is hard to achieve bite after bite. The chefs were good at keeping conversation and meal flows going, yet gave just enough space for each group to enjoy and chat among themselves. All in all, it was a great time - not pretentious, but rather very down to earth (still pricey, don't get me wrong) given they've retained their Michelin star for a second year in a row.

This place was spectacular! I can't wait to go back, it was absolutely delicious. It is such a intimate environment and the chef's make it such a good experience. Every dish was delicious, there isn't anything to complain about. You walk in and it's very calming. They give you a drink while you wait to take a seat. They already have your seats selected and just make the experience very easy. MUST TRY!

Hard to get a reservation. The owner Charlie cooked for us. 22 dishes. My favorite is uni, fatty tuna, amber jack and striped jack.

Went to Craft during the week with a small group and overall had a really solid experience. The vibe is intimate--only a handful of seats--and the whole omakase setup feels really exclusive, which we liked! Definitely a cool place to go if you're looking to celebrate or just want something a bit more elevated than your typical sushi spot!! The service was professional and mostly attentive, though at times it felt a little rushed between courses. Not a huge deal though. The chef clearly knows what he's doing --the fish was incredibly fresh, and the plating was beautiful. Highlights were the toro and the uni for sure. Also, they do a few warm dishes in between that were unexpected but really good. Drinks were tasty too! The seating area is small but very clean and well-designed. They give you warm towels at the start, which was a nice touch, and the flow of the meal was thoughtful. Felt very curated. Parking is also free and easy. Overall, we were impressed. It's definitely on the pricier side, but for a special night out, it delivers. Would come back again for another menu rotation or to bring someone new.

Craft Omakase has been my favorite omakase experience in the U.S. so far, simply because it hit my personal preferences perfectly. I'm particular about a few things when it comes to sushi: I want balanced saltiness (not overly soy-heavy), well balanced and expertly cooked rice, and fish that's fresh and clean--not fishy. On all these fronts, Craft absolutely delivered. The rice may not have been the best I've ever had, but it was spot-on for me. The fish was consistently delicious and flavorful, with thoughtful topping combinations that added dimension without overpowering the main ingredients. I appreciated the creativity--it aligned with how I often build "the perfect bite" myself. The portion sizes were just right, and the fish-to-rice ratio was perfect. And the uni? The best I've ever had, at least for my palate. As for the service, I didn't mind that several pieces were prepared in batches before serving. What did bother me was the late start--our reservation was for 8 PM, but we didn't get our first bite until after 8:20. My biggest critique is about the seating arrangement. My partner and I were placed at the corner of the bar, with an awkward distance between us. It made conversation difficult and took away from the intimacy we were hoping for. The space is small and meant to feel exclusive, but the volume of the room--plus other guests on their phones--dampened the atmosphere. Still, despite a few misses in timing and ambiance, the food itself was exceptional and exactly what I was craving. For those who are particular about flavor balance, freshness, and texture, Craft is a standout. Especially if you want a little more flavor dimension beyond tasting just the fish from your sushi.

This is definitely an experience. I really enjoyed the Chefs Choice of curated sushi and individual pieces. I brought a party of four and we were impressed by everything inside of the restaurant. The outside is very unassuming. Chef Charlie is quite skilled at his craft. I learned a decent amount about what I really enjoy eating in the sushi arena. I felt that it was a good value for this particular experience. It would be difficult to recreate this elsewhere.

Wow I wish I could eat at Craft Omakase every month. The best sushi and small bites I've had in town. It is very pricy for me, but I am glad I was able to have this experience with my best friend. You pay the total for the 22 course omakase when you make your reservation, and they ask if you are celebrating anything. We did not have a particular occasion but we put down that we were celebrating 25 years of friendship. Most of the time when you make comments in a reservation, restaurants never really mention it or notice, but multiple times in the night the wait staff knew we were celebrating friendship! It was so nice and made the evening more special. You really feel taken care of here. When you check in the day of, you are greeted with a free welcome drink in their cute lounge area. We decided to do the sake pairing and Tim presented all of them to us and he was the sweetest. My only complaint was that it was 4 full size drinks, and along with the welcome drink I was pretty drunk by the end of the night! I would recommend smaller servings for the pairing experience. At some points of the night I wished the chefs would speak more about the dishes, or the story behind it, but we also enjoyed chatting with people around us. I was also surprised to not have a wagyu bite. Not sure if that is on purpose or if it was because of an ever-changing menu. At the end of the meal we were given customized menus of everything we ate. I know the menu can change with each seating, so that will be a cool souvenir to keep.

We also had the BBQ eel which was delicious (a bit pricey for 3-4 small pieces for $18, but it is cooked SO well). We had the charred edamame which does have beef in it (take note vegetarians -- there aren't a lot of veggie only dishes on the menu), and the taiyaki cornbread (excellent flavor and texture). We did get the hippie bone marrow (it's eggplant!) and the Kinoko mushroom for our vegetarian friend and she really liked both it even though she's not big into mushrooms (the kinoko has a strong umami flavor, it's quite meat-like actually). We got the hot pocketz too which are brisket based; they were very cheesy (smoked gouda) -- good flavor but the brisket isn't strong. My coworkers also tried one of their specials which is essentially a Japanese "famed dish" -- it's squid marinated in it's own guts. I tried the tiniest piece and it was one of the most abhorrent things I've had -- it was SO salty and kind of sour. I like fried squid but this was nothing like that; def would not recommend but if you like to try weird things, go for it. We also got several drinks -- the Match painkiller and Puff puff pass (serves 2 people) are both absolutely delightful! Very fruity/tiki-like. Someone else got the grapefruit sour which is basically Shochu in a glass that comes with a fresh half of grapefruit and a juicer you can prep yourself! Overall -- I like Kemuri a lot. The food is a little high for the portion sizes, but it's a solid place to go with friends/coworkers and share things so you can try a lot. Because things come out like it courses, you can easily get full without overeating. And the drinks are great! It's a more casual place inside, but you could still have a nice/fun date night here.
