Dr. Eunice Cho was absolutely friendly, caring and super medically resource when I developed Drop foot. I was filled with fear that the longer my Drop foot went untreated the less likely it would be to recover normally. I was struggling with finding availability to have a Nerve conduction test. In a past (years ago, around 2018) appointment Dr. Wilkes was great even spotted a hairline fracture that was missed by hospital. But, more recent with that of last year 2024 he was totally different and staff was treating me as a criminal. Doctor C. Wilkes said my insurance wouldn't cover anything but the visit as I was double insured and to get examined would be extra, he started talking about something that sounded like quackery with lazers measuring my foot for insoles that would cost around $300.00, he then wanted me to purchase insoles sold at the site which were $50.00 and I believe I seen them online for a cheaper price...when in the past having the same insurance, it covered there custom insoles on which a meld was made. Today, in 01/2025 I saw another Doctor at his site and she examined my feet, stated there's no hidden fees and gave a splint of some type, with further recommendations and follow up...I did buy there insoles, out of pocket which I wrote a personal check for and they took forever it seemed like to cash it, will also note the price went up from $50.00 to $60.00 and thought, I heard slander/gossip by staff and the other Doctor who saw me- as that with my medical condition of Anxiety/P.T.S.D. -Against the UNRUH Act. (also, denying service on past visit and knowing of my condition of Anxiety/P.T.S.D., diagnosed for P.T.S.D. around 2014 and Anxiety before that to which has been reaffirmed by many other licensed professionals since then, as my diagnosis would be in my chart too-then discussion of such is against HIPPA and "expectations of privacy" if near front reception, then I also been a paying resident in Folsom, CA for about a 1 year 1/2 with no roomies and having my Real-CA Drivers License-being born/raised in CA-USA as a straight-male Caucasian that such should be in my file as well-even a yearly fishing license, to show I'm no vaggrant-and having a bank account I had for 17 years with other credit cards all in good standing and solely in my name-no reloadable or giftcards) and slander 28 USC 4101 to even Fed. I brought my 10 year-old-daughter to the office to help address ankle pain she would experience during during dancing and soccer practices. Dr. assessed and recommended inserts. Used laser measurements etc... and we had custom insteps made for my girl. I had a concern about them fitting for a whole year and I was told the insoles would be good for another 2 or 3 shoe sizes. Paid $500+ out of pocket.... The inserts did not fit after about 3 or 4 months. He had cut so much material from the inserts to fit the shoes she was in that day the edges of the inserts cut into her toes and slid around in her other shoes. Maybe we can get this fixed? Called the office. Nope, 60-day warranty. Sorry!!! I felt I was told something very different when I was deciding to make the purchase (Ill put that on myself for not requesting something in writing). So I wish I could say that was the end of it. I keep getting a bill for an additional $450. Numerous calls to work it out with the office but they are extremely quick to tell you that they dont have anything to do with the billing. So I call the Athena Health.... they weren't taking care of it....another 3rd party biller and finally they realized their mistake and would correct it immediately. Trying to double bill me and the insurance provider. 8 months later the same conversation happens. Oh our mistake we will fix it immediately. Still getting emails and letter to PAY UP. Overall. I was not impressed at all. I have a bone spur on my heel which is causing tendinitis on my Achilles. I haven't walked correctly for over 6 months due to the pain. I have done stretching, ice, and physical therapy. Nothing has worked even a little. I got an MRI which showed the issue. Went to this office and met with the doc. He hadn't even looked at my MRI or knew I had one. After the exam he gave me some options, one of which wasn't covered by insurance. I felt like I was being up-sold and not taken seriously. This doc may be good for bunions but I wouldn't go if you have a real foot issue. I will find an orthopedic doc that can actually help me. Also, any docs office that puts signs up all over saying they will pay $10 for a good review on google isn't worth seeing in my book. read more

I have been coming to Dr Wilke's office since December 2019. I first came in to have an ulcer on my foot treated that had been a problem since July. While treating me I ended up rupturing both of my achilles tendons. Between both Dr Wilkes and Dr Monson I have received excellent care and soon should be back to normal. I'd give this, another, 'run-of-the mill' doctor zero stars if I could. Anything that is a complex foot injury, stay away, he didn't know what to do. At first, he comes across like he actually cares about your injury, but soon, you're another number that he doesn't even remember the last time you were in. I've been dealt a bad break with severe foot/ankle arthritis that materialized over time from old baseball injuries. I've had 3 'failed' mid-foot fusions that led to septic osteomyelitis and almost losing my leg (allergic to metal). I had all metals removed from my foot/ankle and had an external fixator to try and 'fuse' the bones to fix the arthritis, but that failed too. I was desperate for any help with the pain and knew I couldn't have any more surgeries that involved metal. I got recommended to look at Dr. Wilkes based on his supposedly 'minimally evasion' techniques he claims to be an expert at. Cutting to the chase, I started seeing him last November '21 and the first visit went great. He seemed to actually care, and said he would put a 'game plan' together to help me the pain relief. In that first visit, I brought in all my medical records and he acknowledged that no more 'invasive metal' surgeries could take place (fusing of the ones). He had me get an MRI then see him again in December '21. I went and did this, and the results were even worse; 4 badly arthritic joints and 3 completely torn ligaments. I had a specially made AFO being done by a another orthopedic, that was built into my tennis shoe so he told me to just wear that and see how it goes. I went to Dr. Wilkes for no other reason but to talk about his 'minimally evasive' approaches that I felt would be a great game plan along with the brace. I asked about the likes shock, laser, stem/palettes injections, etc. to help with the extremely bad pain. So, he said to see him again in 6 weeks and he'd have a 'game plan'. I scheduled the next appointment for early January '22. After waiting almost an hour, he had to remember my injury and 'game plan', which he had not done. So, I went over it again, in depth, to the point where he brought in another intern doctor who he wanted me to tell my story about the surgeries (net, do everything possible, before getting invasive surgeries). Then, he gave me a cortisone shot and said he'd put together the 'game plan' and see him in 6 weeks. I would not have scheduled another appointment with him, at this point, but he said he would a 'game plan' for my pain that I originally went to see him. So, 7 weeks later, late February '22, I waited again for almost an hour. I had expected a 'game plan' by this time, and he came in and said 'you'll have pain the rest of of your life, that your joints & ligaments will never repair, and your only solution is the brace'. What!! Every question I asked him to get details he seemed to get more irritated. I know my foot/ankle injuries way more then he does & he basically started to scold me about the details of my questions (another way off saying I have no answer). Then he went off about a cortisone shot which I never even asked for, saying he can't do that but only 2-3 times a year and lecturing me on cortisone shots; whatever. I asked him about his 'game plan' and 'minimally evasive' approaches and he blew them off again and said to get them elsewhere. Finally, he said perhaps you should get 'invasive' surgery again, and to go to UC Davis. I wasted 3 months going to this guy. I'm extremely picky about my podiatrists/orthopedics, and I'm mad at myself for believing this one. I've had enough orthopedic's and podiatrist's to know this guy was just like the others. Starts out ok and seemly cares, then puts you in a queue, not remembering anything about your last visits and chalks you up as 'see me again as needed'. Believe me, I have extremely complex foot/ankle injuries and he just basically punted like the others. Wasted time and money!! It is so hard to find a good podiatrist or orthopedic who really cares about you and what you are going through. From after doing a surgery, time to recover from a surgery, and post recovery. Dr. Wilkes is just another one of those; talks a good game but no answers how to fix your injuries. Not recommending him at all! Get multiple recommendations on these type of 'specialized' doctors because they are so hard to find good ones. From the two who did my surgeries to the two I've tried to get 'different' type of help to relieve the bad surgeries pain level. Your foot and ankle are not something to mess around with. I would look at the UC's Medical Centers first (ie UC Davis, UCLA, Stanford, etc). I have another highly recommended one at UC Davis, and I guess I'll see. This time, the first visit will tell all, but with all 'lessons learned' I will do all my homework first. Oh read more

Came into the office for foot pain and paid a $30 copay. Saw Dr. Craig Wilkes assistant. Told her I had pain in the center bottom of my foot that felt like a Charlie Horse. She stated whenever she hears Charlie Horse pain in the foot that means low Magnesium in the body. I then went to the lab and had blood work and my magnesium levels were normal. I tried to get a refund of my copay due to being misdiagnosed and the office stated, "Well you did get seen." I stated, "Correct but my issue was not resolved and I had no issues with my magnesium levels." The office was rude and refused to reimburse my copay. I then went and saw a real podiatrist at Dignity Health, Dr. Jeremy Evans at 3000 Q St fl 4, Sacramento, CA 95816. He laughed when I told him what Dr. Craig Wilkes office told me about my magnesium levels. He stated he never heard of such a thing and has been a podiatrist for over 20 years. He then told me my foot pain was due to plantar fasciitis. The doctor gave me daily stretches and told me to ice my foot daily. He also then told me to have some custom shoe inserts made which I did and then I purchased some Hoka shoes and my pain went away. It definitely helps to go see the right doctor. I had an ingrown toenail that was stuck under my skin. I couldn't run and it would hurt to walk. I saw Dr. Monson, he was so patient and numbed me up that visit and removed the ingrown nail. I'm a baby with pain and the his assistant was also so sweet, she stayed in the room to keep me calm. About two weeks later I was back running pain free. No issues since. It has been almost a year and my nail has healed up nicely. read more

So not impressed. All I needed was new orthodics and UC Davis referred my to Dr. Wilkes office. I went in for an exam only to be told they would need to get insurance approval. Made an appt for two weeks later and the day of, they called to cancel the appt because they hadn't received approval. They then sent me a no-show appt bill for $25. It took them two months to get the ins approval. Another visit and 4 months after my initial appt I got the orthodics. They are the worst. The material sticks to my socks so they get bunched up at the bottom of my foot. I have had them for over a month and on my run yesterday, gave me a blister. Tempted to just throw them out and head to the good feet store. read more

Dr. Wilkes started off as a pleasant helpful Podiatrist. I have a very severe bunion and I was happy to find him, "at first!" He is an expert from what I hear but when an office clerical error is made he blames the insurance 100%! I had this surgery scheduled for 3 months. I took time off work, hired a nanny for 2 weeks. 4 days before my surgery I was told my insurance denied it. Obviously I called my insurance and they said it was submitted incorrectly. The x-rays were submitted but the required angles were not documented. And it was submitted as an in patient but scheduled as an out patient. This could of been an easy fix but Dr. Wilkes or his staff failed to answer the request for a peer to peer assessment conversation. Dr. Wilkes insisted my insurance is ALL at fault and there's nothing he can do. Yet he wouldn't even give them a call. My insurance is United PPO, a top of the line. He had just got back from a long vacation so I think he just didn't have time to deal w me. I became an annoying number to him. He is still charging me 376$ in fees when he wouldn't even do his part! Im going to dispute the bill! The other doctors in the practice I hear are great, just not Dr. Wilkes. read more

I just went in to see Dr. Wilkes for a bump on my the bottom of my right foot. My new insurance is Western Health Advantage through Mercy Medical. In order to see Dr. Wilkes, and run everything through my insurance, I would have had to go back through Mercy and request to be referred to a specialist. Instead of making me go through all of the trouble, Dr. Wilkes saw me, talked to me about my interests (commercial real estate), removed the bump on my foot, and refused to take payment! Wow! I saw Dr Munson who was very kind and explained all my options for my ingrown toe nail. My friend had just had her nail taken care of by someone else and said afterwards it was extremely painful. The Doctor explained my options and said to let me know if I had any discomfort and was surprised that I had none. At all. Even the laser afterwards was no pain.
