The 7 day return policy is honestly ridiculous . Any store has a 15-30 day return policy I bought something for a trip I took and I ended up not needing what I purchased/ didn't like how it matched something I wanted to pair with at home, so I came back after my trip to return and was told yeah nothing I can do for you. Not even offering to return with a store credit or anything . I want to support a small business but this one won't get my support anymore . Cram has decided to be unlike other normal clothing retailers and accept returns on unworn items within a reasonably short period. I stopped by here on my way to meet up with a friend, thinking that I could find a shirt or tie to congratulate my roommate in law school. I was impressed by the variety and high-quality clothing. However, I was not impressed by my experience with the staff. As soon as I walked in, a staff member asked me if I needed help with anything and I said that I was just looking. I continued to walk around the store casually, texting my boyfriend excitedly about all of the options. Later, the same staff member from earlier asked me "Miss, what are you doing here?" in an extremely demanding tone. I was taken aback by the question, and how I had to come up with an excuse for why I was in a men's clothing store. Obviously I am a woman so I was not shopping for myself, but I think that I was dressed decently enough that it didn't look like I was trying to steal something. I've been shopping at Cram for years now since I've been living in Chicago. Overall a really nice boutique with a good selection of clothing and accessories for men, staff is nice and the owner Marc is also very nice as well and he has the cutest dog. Over the years I've seen cram adding more and more brands that I love. I was happy they started carrying brands that I used to only buy online and also carrying smaller sizes so a petite person like me wouldn't have any problems. They sometimes host parties during the summer and holidays so that's always fun I'm glad that they are open still during this time and are selling cute and fashionable masks so there's no reason for someone to not wear a mask especially now, masks can be fashionable too. This is one cool little store. As soon as I saw the window displays I wanted everything the mannequins were wearing. They have a great mix of men's clothing brands such as Shades of Grew and Diesel, but also more obscure brands I've never heard of that you'd probably only find here. It definitely skews younger. The staff is also very helpful, and they were even offering champagne to customers when we were there. Sweeeet. There's also random jewelry, watches, sunglasses, Iphone cases, wallets to peruse. I walk by this place every day because I'm in the neighborhood. Today I was on my way to Express to get a dressy/casual dress for my dress rehearsal for my wedding. I was looking for a cream or ivory dress and as I walked by the store today they had 3 dresses (same dress s,m, L) on their 70% off rack outside the store that caught my eye. I brought all three dresses in and it is absolutely the dress that I needed for my event next week. I love it so much, can't stop looking at it. It was 79$ and I got it for like 24 bucks. Damn! And I plan on wearing it to work and dressing it down with a cardigan and brown boots. Love it. I did however get some jewelry and then got struck with buyers remorse (happens to me all the time) and the return policy is you get store credit only. I don't like that. You have to be positive that you will not be returning whatever it is you bought. The owner Marc was super nice about it and I ended up just getting different jewelry. Wish I'd just bought the dress and walked away. They have the cutest dresses in neutral colors (which are hard to find), dark dresses and lots of peasant/dressed up tops. So cute. I will definitely be back. I'm always looking for something that you can't find at the Chain stores. Suffice to say that I skipped the trip to Express and scored a STEAL of a dress that I plan to wear the heck out of. read more

Cram just opened up yesterday, I was curious to stop on by and check this place out. The owner is Marc Engel, (hence the name Cram, (Marc backwards), but also very double entendre, how perfect for North Boystown), who also owns Chasalla over on Oak. Apparently I needed to stop in because I found rockstar parking right in front. Okay... let's see what we have here... Lots of fun t-shirts with a different Euro flavor, (something that Chasalla has loads of), jeans, shirts, stuff to rock out in the summer, a night out or just something with a little bling bling to catch that certain someone's eye. The really nice, and what I personally love, is that they tailor their jeans with original hem, (cause I will say finding a place that does a good original jean hem can be a little bit pain in the butt). However they can tailor shirts and anything else they have in the store. This is including t-shirts! I never knew. I guess I really did learn something new today. Staff was friendly, answering all my questions and letting me know everything I needed to know and then some. I will say this, if you see a shirt you love, yet not in your size, they can call up Chasalla and ship it over for free for your viewing and trying on pleasure. If you don't like it, no worries. Love it when a place wants to make you happy. The store is tiny, but crammed with oodles and oodles of merchandise to drool over, so keep your eye peeled, stuff at every turn of the head. You will have the trendy and fashion forward items like Versace, but some smaller less known brands from Europe. Sunglasses, belts, bags and yes, a small section of women's clothing. They did tell two women that the more they sell the more they will expand the section. I did ring up a few new shirts but I will be back as my little eye was seeing some killer jeans, so a return trip may be in order. Shopped here 2 days ago. Had one of the WORST SHOPPING EXPERIENCES IN MY WHOLE LIFE. The young guy working there is a TOTAL jerk; he was very rude and ridiculously impolite the whole time we were there. Whenever we asked a question, he rolled his eyes and then turned around and asked his boss that question. He was acting like he didn't want to be there and did not care about what we were looking for at all. Sadly there was one item we liked and we bought it, while cashing out he was also giving us attitude, rolling eye, and delivering all kinds of negative vibes. We wanted to call him out so bad at that time...and we should have. I mean, look at all the similar stores on the same street - Universal Gear, HisStuff, etc...they are all gone. BUYER BEWARE!!! This place has the worst return policy ever. In fact, they do not even HAVE a return policy. In today's world, what kind of place does not accept returns? Well it gets worse. I went into this little store and had decided on a few pieces. I was unsure of one of the items, so I asked the little kid behind the counter if I could return it if I decide against it after all. He said, no, we don't accept returns, but we can give you store credit or do an exchange. OK, I said, thinking that if I decide against it, I could exchange it for something else that I had seen that I liked (couldn't afford all 3 at once, as this place is expensive as hell). So I go home and go about my life, only to decide against the item later on. I go back to the store, look around and pick some things, and go to the register for my exchange. Alas, I am told by the cashier that it has been more than 7 days since my purchase, and their policy does not allow this. SEVEN DAYS? What's the rush?Ok, so first off, it may have been a whopping 10 days since my purchase. Second, this information was apparently printed on the receipt, which covers their asses, but who the hell reads a receipt after an employee has already verbally informed you about their policy? The 7 day part was conveniently left out of his spiel at the time of purchase. Needless to say, I was denied at the counter for my exchange because of this gross violation of their "7 day policy" with the employee stating that "my boss won't let me, I'll get in trouble." Well then your boss is an ass. Oh, and mind you, I had a couple additional items I was about to buy on top of the exchange, which I obviously left on the counter after I was basically told "you're an idiot, it says it right here on the receipt, 7 days." Guess you lost out on additional sales because of this, Mr. Cram. So my solution was this. Go into Cram and find some things you may like. Use their fitting rooms to try on different sizes and fits. Write down or remember the brand name and details of the clothing you like. Don't buy anything. Next, go home, log online, and go to the clothing brands' website that you have written down. I can nearly guarantee you will find the items you almost bough at Cram on the brands' website. And worry not, Cram is doing you no favors on prices, so the online order will be the same, perhaps less if the brand is having a sale. AND, you can always return items you buy online! This is the exact solution I employed later on the same day I was turned away at Cram, and my brand new items came in the mail in a few days, yet my money was NOT spent at Cram. YAY! I'm stuck with the item that they refused for me to exchange that day, but in the end it was a good learning lesson in bad business and also what to do as an alternative. I recommend it to all if you ever come across a place that has such a bogus "return policy." This place will be out of business soon, rest assured. Someone who runs a business like this does not have the customer as his first priority. In today's economy, peoples money is too tight and competition is too stiff for such an ideology. I liked it. I didn't think I would like it, but I liked it. I have never been a big fan of shopping -- especially in boutique-style stores. I always feel too doughy for these places. But a friend wanted to stop in on our lovely walk yesterday and I am glad I did. I met Oscar - a real sweet treat. He gently aided me in the finding of a pair of cute Penguin shorts. I tried on a couple shirts there but they made me feel like I had man-boobs. Oscar disagreed -- how kind. They have clothes, watches, cologne, bags. Cute bags too. Those Pan Am bags I find so adorable and retro. I would have bought one but I already have one --- YAY!!!!! I love local and this is local. So give it a try. read more

I haven't bought a lot from Cram for Her, so my rating is more about their staff than their clothes. I can't decide is more annoying: staff that hounds you and follows you around like a human surveillance camera, or staff that might as well be invisible because whenever you need them, they'll never be there! Luckily, neither of these scenarios happens when I go to Cram for Her. Genuinely friendly and helpful staff, I didn't feel pressured nor ignored. The clothes are all really well made with great fabrics, so you definately get what you pay for. i've never been disappointed with anything i've bought from here. i'm the proud owner of three dresses and a blazer from Cram for Her, and they are my favorite items in my wardrobe. the staff is always extremely helpful, and they're always willing to offer opinions and find items similar to what you're looking at. I'd much rather shop here than at a big box store. the clothes are just so unique and i wouldn't even hope to receive the same service at a corporate store that Cram offers me. read more

On a recent visit to Chicago, I was a little surprised at my inability to find a store with the kind of men's fashions I like and wear, until a visit to Cram Fashion on my last day. I found a wide and varied selection of GREAT fashions and brands that are all right up my alley! I bought two excellent shirts and I could have bought a lot more! Now that everything other store for Men's fashion boutiques has closed further South, I have worked my way up to Cram. Previously I passed it over because it was rather difficulty to find things (small store with a lot crammed together) and the relatively high prices, but after stopping here a few times there are good bargains time to time and while still packed, the customer service is great and they help you find something you want. Very organized with emails, sales, parties, and facebooking. Still expensive but it seems good quality. read more

As a person who shops on a fairly consistent basis and former retail warrior, CRAM offers a decent selection of designer brands (Penguin, G*Star Raw, Ben Sherman, Diesel, Shades of Grey, among others) in a boutique setting. They offer high-end denim, bathing suits and underwear all year (see Andrew Christian and 2ixst), as well as a great selection of accessories (Herschel, PanAm, etc.). They always have some items on markdown. The staff is very helpful and pretty knowledgeable about the clothing lines. One offered alternative suggestions with ill fitting styles (based on body type). And, oh yeah, there's a LOT of skinny people clothes here!! Be mindful of the return policy! CRAM's return policy is pretty poor. Items must be returned within seven days. They do not give cash/credit card refunds - only store credit or exchange toward another purchase. In other words, once they get your money, they've got it for good. They used to offer women's clothing but have closed that side of the shop. You can stop by and say hi to the owner's Jack Russell terrier who greets all the shoppers. read more

This place is next to one of my favorite cd stores, and I walked in to check it out. First of all..they have some of the friendliest salespeople I've encountered in awhile. That really made the experience great. The t-shirts are a bit pricey ($39.00 range) but they have a nice selection and belt buckles & wallets from Dolce & Gabbana. Let me start off by saying this review is from someone low-maintenance and someone who doesn't really care about fashion. That being said... Diesel, Penguin, Andrew Christian, Pump, Pistol Pete, etc. These are some of the brands you will see up in here. The pricing is on the high spectrum of things for things like Diesel and Penguin. Let me explain, it is the standard pricing for the items, but if you shop at larger stores, you can find the same items on sale for much less. You can find deals online for Andrew Christian and Pistol Pete stuff, but you don't get to try it on and see the fit and sizing. The joy of Cram...you can try it on and see the fit. If you are looking for some barely there swim ware, this is the place for you. I wasn't. If you are looking for some hot undies, this is the place for you. I was. Customer Service- 5 Stars! I was literally helped by each staff person more than once while I was there. That was three different people who offered assistance while I was there. Dressing Room- 1 Star! I weigh in at 160, and I could barely move around in this tiny cubby hole. They do have dressing rooms in both sides of the store. The side I was on was suffocatingly small. Nick, called a few days after my initial review, and was very professional and apologetic. He said that Mark the owner, and he felt very had a about my less than stellar experience. This was in regard to the Hudson jeans that I had purchased a few weeks earlier and after alteration (shortening the inseam) I felt were the wrong size when trying them on at home. (see previous review) They ask that I stop by any day, and would take me to the tailor and and have them altered to fit perfectly. Now that is real customer service. I had already sent the jeans on to my Nephew, oh to have that young fierce back side again...lol To me this is total redemption, and spot on 5 star customer service. I'll be going back to purchase the Hudson jeans in blue if they are still available, if not there is a lot of great fashion to choose from. Don't miss shopping a CRAM. read more
