Not very compassionate. I can't really rate them but I wanted to switch to their services because I learned that they have all the hospice facilities in the local area and shelters are other hospice- the others facilities have waiting lists and are a 49 minute drive away. I needed help because I do not have a lot of family to help and the time was short. I called and they told me I had to stick with the in home hospice I have because they were unwilling to take my husband at that time. So don't believe the government when they tell you you can switch at anytime- you can't. And the intake person had no compassion and was actually mean. But I had heard from several people beforehand other issues so did not use them from the start. But if I had known about the facility issue I may have reconsidered. Compassionate Responsive Genuine After months of wondering what was going on with my father's health, he was diagnosed with stage IV cancer and his prognosis began to deteriorate rapidly. In a daze, my mother and I trusted a personal recommendation from a friend to use Cranberry Hospice, enabling us to bring my father home from the hospital and make him comfortable in his last days. We started at a point where we barely knew what hospice service was, but quickly felt like we'd picked the right co-pilots. The nurse managers were readily available, patient, and well-coordinated. The tasks they orchestrated happened timely and as they outlined for us. The nurses dispatched to help my dad were knowledgeable, good listeners, thorough and clear explainers, and helpful in recommending whatever would make him most comfortable. Everyone insisted at every turn that we reach out at any time, day or night, with any question or concern - and when we needed to take them up on the service, they arrived quickly and helped resolve any issues. No one wants to need hospice - but if you need hospice, you want a service like Cranberry. read more

My mom passed away on June 22, 2022. She was a hospice patient for three plus months. She received good care. I was promised bereavement support when I signed the admission papers. Well, here I am eleven months later. I've only heard from the social worker once and that was in August 2022. Initially, I was told there weren't any support groups. I did receive a letter in January along with a phone call. I wasn't able to do that group due to the time of day it was being held. I have never heard anything else from the Social Worker. There has been no information regarding any type of remembrances. I recently met a woman whose husband had passed away and she raved about the support she has been receiving from Cranberry Hospice. She receives phone calls from the social worker and offerings of support groups. I do not understand why I never received any support to help me deal with my loss. I'm still having a hard time. It's been 11 months of hell. Why do you only support certain families? I just remember being told about the tremendous support I would receive when my mom passed away.
