I knew I had some sort of emotional connection to eating: stress, transitioning to an empty nester, instability in my job, and overall "I don't care-ism". I tried lots of fad diets, most recently the HGC and then a 30 day juice fast. I could lose about 20 pounds, but because of the underlying issues I would return to my old stress eating habits.
