I'm sitting in Crave at 8:56 in the morning. I ordered the chicken and waffles, the server said the chicken batter is not ready. There is no excuse not to be prepared to serve everything on your menu. The coffee is served from carafes and the coffee is NEVER hot. Is been wanting to try this restaurant for a while now and am glad I finally got to have a take out meal from here recently. The only downside was a friend brought me the carryout meal and Crave didn't include plastic ware for the two meals he ordered. I didn't get a chance to eat the salad until hours after it was delivered so I was worried it wouldn't be very good. To my surprise the 5 pieces of jumbo shrimp were still moist and fresh tasting atop a still crisp and fresh Bibb salad. The feta and dried cranberries paired well with the lemon vinaigrette dressing. I have always got the burgers or brunch menu at Crave, but I always try to get something different in their menu. Very enjoyable dinner tonight while in ELP on business. The chorizo flautas are incredible as are the ribeye tacos. The ribeye tacos (4 per order, wear a loose belt) were cooked medium rare and had pickled jalapeños, avocado, creme, and a spicy sauce. Very good. Wonder if they pickle their own jalapeño? I bet they do. Others had several of the black angus burgers options and commented how good they were. Huge burgers as well. The tuna cerviche is clearly outstanding as well. As a local, you better believe I AM HOOKED ON CRAVE! Artfully crafted interior and exterior design, a smartly created menu (yes, a menu can be smartly created), friendly staff, and depending on where you sit...the element of death looming over you. Okay, that last one is an exaggeration. Obviously Crave is known for it's food, but most people, much like myself, are captivated by the environment. They put real thought into Crave and you can see the appreciation from patron's every time a new picture pops up on Instagram or Facebook followed by demands of, "Where is this magical place?" "The element of death" I was speaking of (that really has no element of death) is the hanging silverware. I always opt to sit under it, if given the option. It's beautiful and mesmerizing and kind of makes me want to do something similar in my dining room although I don't think I have enough forks, knives, spoons or patience to create something even closely similar. When my neck becomes tired of craning to stare at the silverware-work-of-art, I divert my attention to the menu that is written on the wall in chalk. It's colorful and large enough that you can actually read it. And it's written rather artistically, as it should be (but I've been to my fair share of restaurants with large chalkboards or chalkboard walls and they don't come anywhere near as beautifully created). I've found on my many trips, that there is nothing bad on this menu...nothing I tell you, nothing! I prefer this Crave for breakfast and I usually end up with the No Brainer, an omelet with chorizo, cheddar, onions, tomatoes, bacon, and Hollandaise...which is basically who I make it at home because I'm not a fan of simple or good for you omelets (don't get me wrong, you can put spinach on my omelet, but there better be a helluva lot of bacon on it too). Anything with waffles at Crave is kiss-your-hands-like-an-Italian-chef good! Soups here for dinner and lunch are on point as well. You may notice the menus at this Crave differ slightly from the Crave on the West side, but for the most part they have almost all of the same dishes. I implore you to explore, explore, explore! The one area that could use some help is service. I've never had awful service, but they could be more attentive. However, I understand how service could come across as kind of bad because Crave stays packed, all day everyday. When I go to Crave at 10:30 am on a Tuesday and see that there is a wait for tables, I can't help but think, "Don't you guys have jobs or careers or something? Isn't there like a small child that needs you right now?" I never pass this judgement on myself because unlike the majority of the people enjoying phenomenal meals at Crave, I have a problem...I'm always hungry. And never for the same thing. And never at a reasonable time. Anywho, Crave is a big YES from me. It will not disappoint and if you're feeling adventurous you can sit outside on the patio (they have a fire that stays lit during those colder times). read more

Crave Kitchen & Bar pretty much stays crowded from open till close. So naturally, like a detective on Law & Order: SVU, I knew I had to investigate. So, what can I say about this place? Well...the decorum and sound here are more contemporary than a set from "Back to the Future II". That food though...eh.. This one is kinda complicated because I've actually been here twice. The reason I couldn't review it properly before was because our dinner was actually cut short due to my son being sick. The most significant things I can point out from that night were how inept the service was toward the end (possibly due to all the confusion), and the burger I got was like...a 5 out of 10 for me. Anyway, it wouldn't have been fair to rate them from that one experience. So I waited till I could revisit this place for breakfast. I had previously concluded that breakfast is more than likely this place's specialty. So I ordered something called "the hay stack" because I was impressed with the description. But if I had to choose a word to describe the seasoning of said dish, I'd say...subtle. Yeah. Subtle is the word. As far as the eggs over hashbrowns goes, it was actually not bad! Not great...but there was a hint of salt and pepper every now and then. This is a brilliant concept I plan to bring into my own kitchen and overall, this was easily the best part of the meal. Unfortunately, the bacon looked and tasted like beef jerky. I never made it past the second slice. The sausage looked less appealing than those frozen patties they sell at the supermarket. They should consider switching to links instead of patties. Not that it really matters, considering I find sausage deplorable. I just wanted to make a comment in the appearance of it. Presentation of a dish is important. Ultimately, this was sort of like bungee jumping. You visit a place just for the sheer experience of it, but that doesn't necessarily mean you'll return. And that's basically how I feel about Crave Kitchen. I tried breakfast and I tried dinner. Obviously, the former was far more superior to the latter. Service and the decorum were spot on. So I always here everyone rave about Crave. Despite three locations here in the EPT, I've just a never made the journey..... Until today. We walk in at 2pm and the place was packed. Normally I'd be all like ehhh, let's go somewhere else. But today, I almost appreciated how full it was, because that must mean I was in the right spot. Indeed I was. Took about 20 minutes to get out table, which was fine because they had a DJ spinning some straight up deep house / chill step / EDM... So I was groovin to the melodic tones and beat drops while I scout the photos of entrees on Yelp. Get to our table and waitress brings us our menus and grabs us some waters, garnished with oranges. Nice touch. The menu was the "brunch menu", and while small, it didn't disappoint. It had a perfect mix of breakfast foods and lunch foods. And the entire back side was drinks that can be ordered from the full bar on site. My wife ordered the "Crave Burger", which comes cooked to order, with cheese, red onions and BBQ sauce. Side of sweet potato waffle fries. She loved it. It was a very large burger... She didn't (couldn't) finish her plate. I ordered the Belgian Waffles and Fried Chicken. Full order. This thing was a monster!! Full size Belgian waffle with syrup and two of the BIGGEST boneless chicken breast, battered and deep fried, that I've ever seen. Check the photos. My meal also came with not one, but TWO sides. So I copped some sweet potato waffle cut fries and their famous Mac-n-cheese. DAMN SON. I'm not even kidding... I don't think I'll eat until tomorrow. Now normally (as seen in my reviews), I'll try appetizers and desserts. Both of which this place offers. However, I could enjoy neither of them on this day. Not because of price. Not because of quality or availability. Simply because, I was so f***ing full, that I couldn't dare to eat another bite. WOW dude. And the taste was on point. The location is on the smaller side, but very modern and decorated just right. Trendy as fuhhh. They have outside seating available. Two TVs over the bar playing sports. Not huge like a sports bar, but big enough so that you can see them from just about everywhere you sit inside. As I mentioned before, they were playing some dope tracks.. If yall know me, then you know I listen to a new episode of Tiësto's Club Life every single day... So these tunes were right up my alley. It's definitely worth a try. The staff was all young, friendly, and seemingly good at their jobs. I mean it was super busy and the Girls there all handled every table perfectly. The cooks are obviously on point too. Great waitress! Greasiest chicken and soggiest not well cooked pale waffles ever and a side of burnt asparagus. The waitress was nice enough to ask to have them recooked. But one I don't send food back and two I couldn't eat anything with burnt flavor stuck in my mouth. My best part I said no thank you and we I got my bill I paid the whole meal. Never ask to com or charge the half. Instead I got charged 23$ for a basket fri3s and chicken breast! Sad but being stationed here I would know never here again. I give 5 stars to our waitress. This place is outstanding in my book. It is conveniently located off major roads and has plenty of parking. The location is small but very well laid out to fit groups of people. Their patio area is great for when the weather is fair (it has plenty of shaded area). The food is delicious. They have all day Brunch on the weekends and a nicely rotating menu during weekdays. Wow! I dined here twice while on a 2 night travel to El Paso. Highly recommend you dine here if in the area. They have something for everyone. Beautiful hamburgers my dinner guest had one. I always drove by this location and decided to try this location out. The restaurant is very trending, serving new American food. Staff was fantastic, from our hostess to our waitress Audra, even management who ensured at the end of our meal that everything was good. I was very happy with the great customer service my husband and I received at this restaurant. Interiorly, the design is very modern with outdoor seating also. Every waiter I walked past was very attentive to their customer, hence, waiters are amazing. I was very happy with my waiter, Audra, she was great! She was very attentive, but not too overboard, she ensured our food was good and we had everything we needed. Being our first time here, Audra explained the menu items to us and even offered her opinions and recommendations for each plate. In regards to the food, the food was delicious! My husband had their rib sandwich which was large! We were surprised when we received our plates, the portions were large. For our sides we had the mac and cheese, waffle fries with marshmallow sauce-yes marshmallow sauce... , and asparagus. Their waffle fries were to die for! In my experience, the best fries I have had ever!! The marshmallow sauce was a great compliment. We were going to order desert, but after having their waffle fries our sweet tooth had been assuaged. I had their shrimp tacos, they were exquisite! Light and healthy, sweet and salty- perfect combination of the both. We started our dinner with an appetizer, we had their ceviche and the tuna was so good, the sauced poured on top made the ceviche even more delicious-highly recommend this appetizer! As for their beverages, I had their Nutella hot chocolate and holly goodness it reminded me of back home in Mexico. It was so good!!! YUM, YUM!! Overall, the food was delicious here, staff was fantastic, our waitress Audra made our first visit here a memorable one and we will definitely be returning here for the great atmosphere. The only downfall was their mac and cheese, I don't recommend this side- it tasted like boxed mac and cheese, the macaroni was hard and not too much flavor. To complicate matters I don't eat meat on Mondays (meatless Monday...try it, you will like it!!) so I was looking for a joint with a varied menu that could accommodate my needs. I started out with the tomato basil soup, and enjoyed it. It was full of tomato flavor and a ribbon of basil pesto on top sealed the deal. I also orders the roasted veggie sandwich. It was also very good, and consisted of s full garden of colors. My only complaint was that the asparagus was a bit woody as the stalks were a bit too fat. I asked for some aoli and it complemented it well. I will have to try this place on s less restrictive diet day because everything looked good! My husband and I ate here for dinner last night with two other couples. We ordered the lettuce wraps and bacon wrapped shrimp for appetizers, my husband ordered the smash burger, and I ordered the "best ever fish tacos". The bacon wrapped shrimp was ok, a little over cooked, I've had better. The chicken served with the lettuce wraps definitely DO NOT go together. The chicken is fried and the seasoning is good but it would be better served with some white rice rather than with lettuce. My husband said his smash burger was good....Now, for the huge disappointment. The "best ever fish tacos" are made with cod and topped with chipotle mayo and cabbage. These are NOT the best ever fish tacos as it's described on the menu. The corn tortillas tasted like they just came straight out of the package without being heated up, pretty much just tasted like cardboard. The fish had absolutely zero flavor at all even with the chipotle mayo, it still had no flavor whatsoever. And the cabbage! They literally threw a whole pile of cabbage on top of all of the tacos to the point that you couldn't even see the tacos underneath. At first I thought, maybe this is just MY tacos that don't have flavor, but NO. The two other ladies we were with also ordered fish tacos and they both said the same thing, it had no flavor. I was so excited to try these tacos, I'm mean come on, when you're advertising it on your menu as the "best ever fish tacos", one has to assume that they're going to be really good. But, it was the most disappointing fish tacos, I couldn't even finish one because it was so terrible. Oh, and the cherry on top of this whole disappointment was that our waitress was high as a kite (idgaf if you want to get high, but come on, at least do it on your own time and not while you're working). Each time she would disappear and come back to our table, her eyes would be smaller and smaller and she kept talking slower and slower. She served us the appetizers and disappeared for a good ten minutes and never gave us utensils to eat the apps with, no napkins, nothing. Anyway, I really hope she got home safely with being as high as she was. I do not recommend this place to eat. It was not worth the price we paid for the meal and the 18% gratuity that was automatically added to our bills. The ambiance and decor aren't great either. I wanted to like this place but, this is the second time we've been here. The first time we went for lunch, a whole year ago, and I remember not liking my food then which explains why I never went back but the couples we were with wanted to go this time so I figured I'd give it another try. I stopped in El Paso for the night on my way back to Nevada and was looking for a restaurant that had outdoor seating. I was so happy to find Crave! My family of four order blackened shrimp tacos, mahi tacos, the fried chicken sandwich, and a kids quesadilla meal. We were pleasantly surprised with the portion sizes of both the entrees and the sides. The food was wonderful and our server was attentive and kind. My son is still raving about the sweet potato fries white the whipped dip and I absolutely loved their green Chile Mac and cheese. When I brought her attention to it and asked that she confirm that the rest of my order was safe, she returned to say the tacos had gluten! The manager brought the ticket and did not offer any discount until informed that we would not pay for food I couldn't eat, then she agreed but could not comp the drinks. Interesting combination but so delicious and refreshing. And unlimited refills too. Quinoa bowl with chicken and avacado and a red Romesco sauce. Wow, the combination was incredible. The chicken was so juicy, I probably could have wrung it out. And had great flavor as well. The quinoa bowl with veggies with the Romesco sauce was packed full of spice and pizzazz. I devoured it.
