Flavoring of the seafood was good but the proteins were little lackluster. The shrimp were huge and in a bad way, it was tough and overcooked. Some of the shrimp pieces were mushy. The poop veins were not de veined so I had to spend time to remove it as it's sandy and nasty. The mussels were served in half shells which usually indicates they were not fresh. Frozen mussels are served half shells. The clams seems to be fresh as it was not served half shell. I tried both kind of crawfish they offered and the smaller ones were sweeter, the larger one did not have much natural taste to it. It goes with the same theme, that larger pieces of their seafood weren't that great. The corn and sausage were fine. Kind of had high expectations based on the reviews about this place but this was one of the lower quality places in my opinion for a seafood boil. This is not a place I would return to, I've had better ones before. Staff was very non-existent, had to chase down to order our food and once we got it, no one came back until we finished our food. No water refill was proactively provided unless we proactively had to chase someone down to refill. I'd been wanting to try this place ever since I came to the area and finally got there with a friend last night. The waitress was aggressively friendly and helpful. :-) We ordered the boiled crawfish and clams. They were fresh out of boiled crawfish so we got the fried crawfish in a basket instead, and yuca fries. The clams were great, and the second level of spice was just right for us. It's an intense sauce, but you can still taste the clams. Lots of butter - it's one of those things you don't want to stop eating, but you may pay for it later (kind of felt like I'd eaten a rock for a couple of hours. But it was a really good rock. Probably because I got a little eager dipping into it with the bread...) The corn was cooked in the same way, with the clams (?). So maybe not for "freshest corn purists," but it took in the flavor of the sauce and was really good. The fried crawfish unfortunately were totally overcooked - tough, dried out and flavorless, and half of them were just little bits and pieces. The yuca fries were interesting; it was the first time I'd ever had them, but I'd definitely get them again. Crispy and chewy at the same time. Ambience - an interesting decor, wood and corrugated metal walls (maybe trying to emulate a shack or dock house) with some fun "Louisiana kitsch" cartoons. I am somewhere in-between A-OK and Yay I'm a fan. If I wrote this after my first time trying out this place it would probably be at Yay I'm a fan because I very surprised at how good this place was compared to other places in Seattle. After going a second time and coming back down to reality after the 'first time excitement' vibes, I am more at an "Yeah it was good" status. The wait for your food is pretty long. If you go at meal hours or even later in the night on Sunday, it's pretty packed and people were waiting for tables. The place seemed pretty popular with people even ordering huge amounts of to-go food. Sometimes it is hard to wave down waiters and they forget something in your order. That happened to us but they eventually noticed us and even gave us the forgotten item while removing it from our bill. This place isn't your cleanest and newest looking establishment. For example, one side has floor tiles while the other side does not but that doesn't really affect anything other than the decor. Maybe they are remodeling? Who knows. If you don't care what the place looks like and just care about the food being good than it's perfect for you here. For the sides, if you like skinny fries then this is the place to order them. They're addicting in my opinion but I may be biased cause I like fries in general. Although, the sweet potato fries were average. The clam chowder was a big hit with me. I would definitely recommend the clam chowder. I heard the other soups were good as well and will definitely make you full if you did not order a lot of seafood boil. If you aren't into crawfish, they have a lot of other seafood boil options to choose from. The crawfish size varies on the days of the catch. I have seen some huge ones in the pics and experienced tiny ones in person. Besides the seafood, they have a good amount of options for spice level and a variety of different sauces. My personal favorite for the sauce was the "House." The Louie Boil didn't do much for me. It kinda of left my seafood tasting bland and wishing I had butter to dip it in. A little mixed on Crawfish House. After eating at other cajun seafood restaurants in the area and down south in Tacoma, Crawfish House isn't my first choice. The prices are good, beers are cheap, and service is friendly (although sometimes slow). The food quality just doesn't seem as high as other places. A few times I've ordered snow crab legs and the ends of the legs are overcooked and rubbery. Clams are also chewy and don't taste as fresh, or are overcooked. Other seafood varieties seem on par with other restaurants. The sauce also isn't as flavorful as Boiling Crawfish in Kent or Dragon's Crawfish in Tacoma. Spice scale is a little lower than others'. I've ordered 5/5 and 6/5 and felt it was bearable. Overall, I've given this place about 5 visits to try different things but wouldn't come back on my own accord. read more

I came here with my friend after finding out it has one of the spiciest food in Washington and wanted to try it out. I ordered 1lb of shrimp -20 star, 1 lb Crawfish - 3 star, 1 baguette, and 1 order of tater tots. The food was beyond what I expected, the crawfish was sweet and juicy, good flavoring, the total we're cooked perfectly that I kept wanting more, and the baguette was toasted enough to have a subtle crunch. As for my 20 star shrimp??? It was definitely spicy, they definitely kept their word, but it wasn't just spicy, it was deliciously spicy. It didn't matter how spicy it was, I kept wanting to keep eating it. And those shrimps are humongous! I was surprised to see that they had soft-shell crab on their menu since those were hard to find elsewhere. The small legs of a soft-shell crab, once they're fried, they're like potato chips. The big claws are crispy on the outside and moist and meaty on the inside. It's crunchy, moist, meaty, and sometimes a little gloppy. Crawfish House's soft-shell crab was good, except that they had over seasoned the crab with Cajun seasoning. It was quite salty. I was very thirsty after eating. Chicken sandwish was alright. All the accoutrements were good. The tomato was tart, the lettuce crispy, and the mayo fatty and sour. The chicken was crispy but thin and dry. Wow!! Just wow! I picked this place based on our fellow yelpers' rating. Spot on!! The minute you walk in to this place you can inhale a healthy dose of the Cajun spicy. That is when I know we are in the right place. I noticed a very diverse group of people enjoying their food. Plastic gloves, bibs are provided. If you are into hands on type of food, this is the place. We tried a lot of fried dishes and the must have bowl of boiling seafood. The Tango sauce with no. 2 amount of heat is my suggestion. Tangy and just enough heat but yet you can still taste the food. Four of us we ordered 4 lbs of seafood and two 3 selections fried dishes plus the must have fried soft shell crabs. (3 piece) with a bowl of clam chowder and 4 soft drinks. $35 per person with tax and tips included. Not bad. I lived in Louisiana for 2 years, so when someone recommended a place with big, spicy crawfish in Seattle, I was ecstatic to try! I came with three other friends on a Sunday afternoon around 2pm (note, on Sundays they don't open until 2). Crawfish house is located on a cute strip with other bars, restaurants, and small shops in White Center. As soon as I walked in, there was an unsettling bathroom smell. But once people started ordering food, the smell of old bay and fried food filled the room. Crawfish House had tables covered in paper and they give you aprons and gloves with your meal. The walls had fun images of crawfish and other cute Louisiana trinkets. The waiters took our orders quickly and the food came out in decent time. You can order a variety of different seafood at different spice levels (1-5 or more if you ask up to 20!!) with different sauces. The boils are VERY hot, so be careful when you start digging in! I had to wait a bit before peeling the shrimp and crawfish. 1lb Gulf Shrimp in Tango Sauce (spice 3): The shrimp was MASSIVE in size and super juicy. Highly recommend the Tango Sauce with the shrimp. It's sweet and light. Probably my favorite part of the meal. 1lb Crawfish in House Sauce (spice 3): I was actually impressed with the size of some of the crawfish. I got a few pieces that were comparable to the ones you get in Louisiana. However, the crawfish was overcooked, so the meat was hard to pull out. I couldn't taste the house sauce flavors and it was super oily. The boil came with one small piece of corn and literally one sliver of sausage. Fried Gizzards: I'm not a fan of gizzards, but if you like fatty chicken, this is the dish for you. It came with a thousand island-y dressing that's great with the crawfish. Cajun Fries: Pretty disappointed with the seasoning on these fries. I couldn't really taste the spice and the fries were not that crispy. I will never go to another crawfish restaurant because my heart belongs to Crawfish House. My bf & I moved here from Texas early this year and missed Cajun/Vietnamese style crawfish soooo badly. We didn't think we could find a good place in Seattle until we found Crawfish House. We've come back more times than we could count for the following reasons: 1) Their crawfish is clean, it comes right out of the shell, it's fresh, the sauce is delicious. I love the powdered spice cup with lime that they give to dip the crawfish in. 2) The staff is amazing! They are not rude, treat you like family and will even wipe off your Crawfish sauce mustache when you've gotten too messy. Shoutout to my favorite staff here (Kim, Michael, Daniel and others who have treated us so well!!) 3) Two words: PACIFIC. CRAWFISH. I've never seen such big crawfish in my entire life! The claws are seriously the size of 2 of my thumbs!! Their regular crawfish are amazing but if you happen to catch their Pacific Crawfish, definitely try it out! 4) Price! We always go on Fridays in the summer when they have their 5lb for $40 deal. You can't beat that price! I found this spot on Yelp after craving cajun seafood boil for several days. There were two sides to the restaurant, one for families and one for 21 and over. Ordering was easy - if you want to indulge in the seafood boil, you pick your seafood by the pound. They had an assortment of crawfish, shrimp, and crab. Market pricing for their seafood was posted on the walls. The server told us that most people either eat one or two lbs of seafood, so we ordered a pound of crawfish, a pound of shrimp, and a pound of snow crab legs, along with some extra potatoes, andouille sausages, and corn, and a side of Cajun tots and French bread. The Cajun tots were amazing - super crispy and made for a great appetizer. The seafood boil came out in a bag and was delicious -- the crawfish were large, the crab and shrimp were soft and juicy. It was all really fresh. We ordered the house sauce, on a 3/5 star spicy level. I think I could have gone to 4, but I was happy with the flavor of 3. The French bread was helpful for dipping in the Cajun sauce of the seafood boil after the meal. Overall, pricing came to about $60 after tax and tip for two people, which isn't bad at all considering how much seafood we devoured. I'm a regular here. Their 5 Star tango sauce is my go-to. Garlicky, butter with a hint of tanginess from the tamarind. The house sauce is too heavy for me, but a lot of people love it too. The fried gizzards, fried mushrooms and yam fries are also must tries :) During the weekday, it can get really busy and the servers might not be that attentive. I think it'd be the best if they could hire a couple more people. But when they do get a chance to get to you, they are awesome. I wish they had snails here, though! I'm not a huge fan of touching my food. But this place provided gloves. An abundance of them so that I could eat with my hands and not go home smelling dinner every time I touched my face. Today is Valentine's Day so the wait was long. We walked in and people were piled inside to keep out of the cold. I felt bad for the customers having to sit so close to the doors because people who were waiting were standing over them. I was glad our table was far from the door, the noise inside is deafening. You can't hear each other talk. So hopefully on less busy days, it will be easier to have a normal conversation. We ordered the #1 special. A whole crab and you can choose two other seafood to go along with it. I chose clams and shrimp. And oh my goodness it was delicious! We ordered spicy level #4 and it warmed me up pretty well. Let me start by saying OMG!!!! Thank you fellow Yelpers for putting this place on the map, as otherwise I would have never found this place. This is the only way the bounty of the North West Pacific should be enjoyed. The atmosphere is completely casual and super relaxed with no frills for a Seafood restaurant. It is all about enjoying the food, and having a great time with your family and friends. There are different heat levels of sauces you can choose from and we decided to go in between (sorry, forgot the name) and it was perfect for our taste buds. The prices are per pound and displayed on a black board, for your choice of seafood. Compared to the other restaurants we had been to in downtown Seattle, these were super customer friendly. It doesn't mean they compromised on the quality of the seafood, if anything, far from it. Actually, the quality of the Alaskan King crab legs and the Shrimp we ordered was some of the best we've had, & we have had a lot of seafood all over the world, including far East Asia. I've been to almost all of the crawfish joints Seattle has to offer (we're talking about Crawfish King, Cajun crawfish both in Seattle and Everett, and I See food) and this one is forever my go to crawfish place. Service is never disappointing and crawfish never tastes frozen. Tips: When crawfish is in season, they offer crazy awesome deals. For instant, 5lbs of crawfish for $40! They often have deals for holidays too. Best way to know if there are any specials going on or if crawfish is available or not, follow them on Facebook! They are very active on Facebook. I've been going for many years and not once have I experienced bad customer service. EVERYONE here are so nice and helpful but the people that really stood out to me are Evonne, Michael, and Kim. They've been nothing but amazing. We ordered a seafood boil consisting of shrimp, crawfish, mussels and clams in addition to some appetizers and drinks. The seafood boil was Overcooked and the sauce lacked the elevated flavor profile that makes viet-Cajun so appealing. The sauce reminded us of a simple Cajun boil with some heat, rather than the profound garlic and aromatic spices we're used to tasting at similar vietcajun restaurants. The service staff were super kind and endearing but we were only one of 4-5 other tables in the restaurant and had to wait about 15 minutes before someone came around to us after seating. We had a hard time getting utensils or gloves after the food was brought out, and ended up going to the bar to ask on our own. In the end, the food filled us up and we felt okay with what we had purchased, but I can't say we'll be back soon given what we experienced. Absolutely worst customer service ever, I mean horrible! The waitresses are very rude and unprofessional. When our food was served we asked if we could get extra limes since we were a party of 6 and only 3 small slices were given to us. The waitress in the red said, "already more, you haven't finished those". Then when trying to get more limes we asked the waitress in the black politely "excuse us can we get more limes please" ... she proceeded to walk away and say "hold on". They both ignored our party and until one of us had to get up from our table to ask them for more limes. When we ordered more food the lady in the black stated "wow" and served the food cold! On top of that she told us that there is a limit on limes. I told her it's fine to charge extra but she replied, "we won't have any for tomorrow". Throughout the whole time eating there they ignored us. Clearly you can see that in the picture. They had other important things on there phone then to assist us. When I say bad, rude and horrible service ... I sincerely mean TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! P.S Not baby or kid friendly! They don't have changing tables in the bathrooms. I had to step out of the restaurant to change my 2 month old. On top of that, they didn't provide color crayons to our 2 year old to draw. We had to get them ourselves. When I was first introduced to this place (2015), I'd gone about 3 times within 2 or 3 months. It was so good! Since then I'd always recommend this place to people because it was honestly one of the best places I'd been for seafood boil. Sauce was on point, prices were decent, and seafood was good! I recently returned (about 2 weeks ago) after 4 years or so and I was so excited since it had been so long! Unfortunately, I was super disappointed. The fried calamari was delicious but the seafood (shrimp) was gross (not fresh at all). You could see it (dark) and taste it. Sucking the shrimp heads are the best part but when I was met with bitterness and dirt like flavors, I had to spit it out! The crab was not bad though, so I don't have complaints about that. As for the sauce, my friend and I went with the house sauce which is garlic, butter, and spices. Although, it just tasted like butter and nothing else. We also added on 2 corns and 2 sausages. I was expecting a sausage at least the size of a longanisa (Filipino sausage) or maybe a bit smaller, but it was literally 2 small slices of sausage. I feel that was a bit of a rip off. Oh well. Also, their limes appeared to be very old too. All in all, my latest experience will be my last time here. Maybe I just had an unlucky night but I'm not really game to try again. When they don't see anything wrong in the shrimp they served, it makes me question things. And hey, maybe the servers were completely unaware (I did not complain) but the cooks should notice that the quality of shrimp that was served was not good. I did get a shrimp po boy to go with tots for my fiancé and it looked delicious (he confirmed too). I didn't try it but I could tell. I think their fried food and other options are not bad (fried rice). However, the bad shrimp I got really ruined it for me and it only takes one bad experience. I've never had crawfish before, but my boyfriend lived in the south for years and it's one of his favorite meals so we finally made it happen when we went to Seattle. We had mixed feelings about this spot at first because parking was hard to find on a street that seemed safe enough to leave our car for a couple hours, the restaurant itself was pretty dingy and dirty, we waited for two hours across the street and went back to find they called the wrong number about 30 mins after we got on the list, our waitress forgot about us after we got our boil so we didn't have gloves or butter or water (bf didn't care and dug right in, but I wanted the full experience and that shit was spicy lol), and the group behind us got their table set, served, ate, cleaned and left before we even got food. BUT it was 10000% worth the wait for the crawfish. I don't love seafood, anything chewier than crab I'm not down with, especially shrimp, but this was crazy good. We got fried pickles, Cajun fries, and 4 lbs of crawfish with potatoes and corn, Cajun spice dry rub at a 2 and it was insane! Didn't have any bad crawfish, lots of big ones that we were able to get meat out of the claws from, and it was a really fair price compared to other joints. If we had extra time before leaving Seattle the next day we planned on going back. Ditch the tourist trap seafood joints and go give your money to these folks cause they know what they're doing. read more

I love the entire vibe of this place! My friend and I walked in about 6:30 on a Saturday and to my surprise it was not too busy and we were able to get a table right away. We ended up ordering crawfish, king crab legs, and clams on the house sauce at spice level 3. I probably could have done spicer but I had to test out level 3 first. All the food was good but the star of the show was the crawfish in my opinion. You can tell these are fresh. The king crab legs were good but after awhile you get tired of eating it because you can tell it was previously frozen and not really fresh. Overall the food was good and I definitely would come back to try more items on the menu. We also ordered margaritas and they were so good! Be prepared it is expensive. I was pleasantly surprised by this place! When we walked in it was packed! They have a pretty good system with seating people. We were sat within 5 minutes on the 21+ side. Service was great! There's truly no other place around here that compares to the Crawfish House. My favorite place to go to for a seafood boil! I've been continuously eating here for years and have never experienced anything majorly negative. There's usually not a long wait time to get seated, the food usually comes out within a decent timing, friendly & generally attentive staff, food is fairly priced, and tastes great! Appetizers like fries, fried mushrooms, etc come out quick so you have something to get started on while the main stuff is on the way. The liter of the strawberry lemonade is also a fantastic choice to wash everything down, especially the spices :-) My usual order consists of king crab legs and the shrimp at a 3 star (a good level of spicy, nothing crazy) with their house sauce.
