My insurance company ultimately totaled the truck. When I informed Toussaint Customs, they presented me with a $2,400 storage bill -- for a vehicle they were explicitly asked not to hold, on which no actual repair work was ever performed. To put that number in perspective: it is $600 less than the original repair estimate, and $900 more than State Farm's payout on the total loss. I explained my situation plainly. I am a disabled veteran, a single father of two, and a full-time college student working two jobs. My truck is not a convenience -- it is how I get to work, to school, and to care for my children. I was met with sympathy at first. Once it became clear there was money to extract, that sympathy disappeared entirely. Toussaint Customs ignored a direct customer request, performed zero work, and is now demanding nearly $2,400 in fees from someone already dealing with the aftermath of an accident they didn't cause. I would strongly caution anyone -- especially those navigating insurance claims or tight financial situations -- to think carefully before bringing their vehicle here. P.S. the owner, Marcus Toussaint, would like it to be known that he was willing to help, before I shared my experience with y'all, not anymore; so long as I gave him as much as my lawyer was willing to advance from my injury claim, or as much as "Snap Finance" would let me borrow at an unreasonable interest rate. Sister got me XM radio for my truck for Christmas in 2011...if I'd known how much a pain in the ass…read moreit was gonna be I'da choked her right there by the tree but at the time all I was thinking was COOOLLL!!! Anyway had to go get it installed and did so up in north Louisiana where I was living then and for the most part those boys up north did a helluva job but instead of using screws to secure the radio mount to my dash they used an adhesive that was enclosed with the radio kit. Needless to say once down in the excess heat of south Louisiana the adhesive soon gave way. SO I found MST and went there on a drop by and these folks took care of me right!!! They were able to screw the mount into my dash so I have no worries and they even repositioned the wiring to be in a less compromising posiiton. The price for work was reasonable and I was impressed. While waiting on the work to be performed I hung out in the store and the A/C and this place has a wide variety of in-car entertainment options from radio/MP3's to Nav systems to whatever else. Seemed to be a great selection. Also they carry Infiniti speakers and the system in my truck is Infiniti which I have learned means finicky so when I'm ready for new speakers to bump up the sounds of my tunes I'll be back to talk with these folks about purchasing and installation.
