Crazy Roy's is a hidden gem! I run a charity and bring art work over from Africa to sell as part of our fundraising. Roy and his wife are an absolute pleasure to do business with and their prices are the best that I have found in Adelaide. I have been trying different framers over the past 4 years and they are by far the cheapest and best. Their attention to detail is so good and quality of framing is outstanding. There's plenty to like about this picture framing business as not only are they reasonably cheap, but they are friendly and work with you to get the best style and design to frame your photos, prints or artworks. All framing is done on site as the factory is out the back. The shop is full of ready made frames with matting, framed prints and also mirrors. I purchased an A3 ready to go frame for $10 a short while ago, there are various sizes and contrasting matting boards to choose from. For the home handy person or learner, you can buy the matting board and wood frames in lengths to make your own. Directly out on the South Rd frontage they usually bring out some framed prints and mirrors with signage saying for you to make an offer, so why not if you like it. If you're a bowerbird be on the look out as they often throw out stuff onto the side road on the footpath, I haven't done it but in driving past there appears to be some interesting and useful offcuts. read more

I walked into the shop today unannounced with a gallery poster under one arm and a ready frame with the usual family blank cutouts, I explained to Astero the lady who helped me, I was after a matt replacement with the one cutout for the poster, yes, can do it now, and I then asked about the possibility of mounting (glueing down) the poster and matt onto foam core backing board, no trouble at all, was done while I waited and I had to time to look through the shop/gallery, wonderful service and stock. read more

I just l-o-o-o-v-v-v-e Crazy Roys! Whether I am decorating a place for Holiday Rental clients or have something special I want to frame for myself, I always go there. It's like Alladin's Cave. You can find anything you want for your walls - or - he'll source it for you and frame it up. The thing is that most people are unsure of the basics of framing - whether it's choosing a mount or the frame itself. Just ask Roy...he has the best taste and know-how to make your picture shine and be the focus in the end result. Crazy Roys can add cut outs within the mount for your title if that's what you need, double mount it for a bit of drama, show off the hand-made paper edge of your print, or whatever. I took 6 prints to be framed here. When I returned a week later they had been done in the wrong frame. So another week later I returned to collect them only to find that two of my prints had been damaged. It looks like the prints have either been folded or (more likely) leant on when they were measuring something so there is a long dent the whole way down both. When I shows them he said he could put matt board on it to hide the damage slightly. I wasn't happy with this because you could still very clearly see it. Then he said he could copy them but the colour would be a bit different. Again I wasn't happy with this and said I wanted new prints and told him how much I paid for them. To which he got very angry and told us that we had caused the damage (the prints have been in a poster tube since we bought them) and we just wanted the money and that the prints weren't Piccaso! And thankfully they weren't because he would have ruined it! I would seriously think twice about going here. I personally won't be back. Yes they may not charge as much but it's going to cost us more to fix his errors. I took the prints to another framer and they were very helpful and horrified when I showed them the damage. Please think twice before going here. Pay a bit more and go to a business that aren't going to destroy your pictures. read more

Crazy Roys is a great family business and we wouldn't have such a beautifully decorated house without them. We had a stack of paintings we had collected on travels over several years and finally found a place that would frame them at a cost we could afford and beautifully as well! Without the eye for what works, the advice on suitable frames styles and colours was invaluable. The range of ready made frames is a bonus for those smaller items hanging around. We have been back several times and would recommend them for any framing service. read more
