Poor quality. We each ordered a miso soup - it was tasteless and the seaweed was gummy and chewy. His order of Dragon and Unagi Nigiri was brought. Unagi was paper thin and not torched, and it was on a large ice cube sized rice. (Way too much rice). The Dragon was put together very clumsily and the taste was plain and again, too much rice. Finally, my order of the Lion King came and it looked nothing like the photo. In fact, they served it with cream cheese instead of avocado. Tasted disgusting. I have had better sushi rolls from Safeway! The Crazy Sushi rolls MAY have been good, but it was difficult to enjoy them because of the amount of ginger/wasabi that they gave me. I bought FOUR sushi rolls and they gave me ONE container (the bottom being the size of a quarter; and as tall as a quarter) of grainy wasabi and ONE (the same size) of ginger. What they gave me was less that you get with ONE pre-made roll at Safeway! I was shocked when I got home and took the FOUR containers out of the bag! I saw one TINY container of wasabi and one of ginger. I was certain there would be similar containers with each of the other rolls. No such thing! When I called to talk to the restaurant about what was surely a mistake, I was shocked again. It wasn't a mistake! Annie told me she was the overall manager. And she took no responsibility for the fact that we would enjoy our sushi rolls far less without the wasabi and ginger. She kept telling me that "in the future" I should remember to ask for "extra". I told her this was my first experience so I didn't know I'd need to ask for more. After all, this was an actual Japanese restaurant, NOT the grocery store that gives more ginger/wasabi for one roll than Crazy Sushi gave for four. I can't tell you how many times Annie kept telling me that the "solution" would be for me to ask for more "in the future". I eventually conceded. I promised her that, IF I came there any time "in the future", I would take responsibility for my experience and ask for more. Then I asked her if SHE was going to take responsibility for my experience now. Nope! I imagine any customer-focused manager would have maybe offered a free roll with my next order; something to entice me to give them another chance. So... it's now my understanding that Annie, the supposed manager, doesn't give a hoot about whether I come back. And that would seem to extend to the probability that she doesn't really give a hoot whether you order from them, either. A fan of unagi? This is your place! The menu is sadly limited and they seem fixed in their unagi sauce which is just okay. The fish tastes fresh and is of good quality, but not great. We tried a couple of their rolls tonight. For the irony we tried the Thursday Roll (it's Thursday as we ordered it) and found it to be "okay". Nothing to rave about and nothing really awful either. Just the middle of the road really. We also tried the Crazy Boyko as it was frequently ordered according to DoorDash. It wasn't anything to write home about but also wasn't awful. All-in-all, Crazy Sushi provides an "okay" service/product. They do charge premium prices though for your lack of pleasure. The price paid makes you feel like you'll get a premium sushi experience. Sadly, this isn't the case. They're not bad, but they're not great. For the money, you're better off elsewhere. read more

I love this Sushi Restaurant for several reasons, some of which will not pertain to you. 1. Location, exceptionally convenient for me; walking distance. 2. Their 50% off menu is reeeeeally cheap. The average roll on there is $9. 3. Quality is mid-tier. The ingredients are fresh and I did not experience any sickness I read in another review nor an altered taste that food would possess if it sat on the shelf for a while. You get what you pay for - delicious but slightly bland. Some cilantro would greatly add flavor. 4. Service is a hit or miss. I've never had any major issues except on my last visit. I came with my sister and 3 y/o daughter. I ordered 6 rolls, she ordered 2. I received 3 rolls after maybe a 20 minute wait. We did not receive any other rolls until about an additional 30 minutes. It was really uncomfortable and too long spaced out - maybe they were slammed with to-go orders but there were only about 4 tables sat inside. I was just put in a bad position getting half my order, my very pregnant sister not getting hers ... I ended up getting everything to go. All in all, it's a great place. They have worked incredibly hard over covid- with losing and gaining staff, but they never compromised the quality and it shows. I have been to this restaurant many times and have always loved it. I will not be eating here ever again. After not being able to sit outside at a neighboring restaurant my husband and I asked to sit outside at Crazy Sushi because they have a big patio and we were thinking we would be accommodated. The waitress tried seating us, but one of the sushi chefs told her no. Spring is here, it's beautiful weather. I have been going to Crazy sushi for a long longgg time and it still never disappoints! The food and service is always great and I love coming here to get my sushi fix. Rolls are half off and the quality of the sushi is definitely worth more than what you get. They also have some full priced rolls that are worth getting. Definitely try the yuri if you love that fresh taste and the lemon drop if you love a smoky and citrus flavor. Their half off rolls are great like the mt. Fuji if you like scallops and the spicy day is one of my favorites! For appetizers, the heart attack is to die for! Deep fried jalapeños with cream cheese and spicy tuna. They even have .99 cent hot sake on thursdays! The service has always been great, very nice servers who are attentive and welcoming when we walk in. They are really good at refilling waters and checking up on our table each time. I really liked this place. Love te décor and ambience. So much bigger inside than you would think. We were staying across the street on our way out of town and wanted a bite so we yelped this place. It only had three stars but we gave it a shot and were not disappointed. Great cold sakes. No waiting forever to get your sushi. We did sit at the sushi bar. They had two chefs on and they also have a half off menu which is nice. A lot of rolls to choose from on it too. They also have a few pages of other special rolls that aren't on the half off but no better than the ones that are. The Hamachi hand roll wasn't the best. But the lemon roll with salmon and garlic sauce was great! The soft shell crab was too. Crunchy and flavorful. Not too much rice. Very kind chefs who are happy to accommodate. Clean. Great service and great fresh fish. Came in for lunch and had the staff make recommendations. My regulars (tuna, salmon, yellowtail, snapper, eel) were fantastic, I could have happily doubled down. Instead I had a special roll, "hot ex wife." The name became self-evident - it was perfectly (very) spicy, and it was gone before I knew it. To close: their uni was spectacular, creamy and decadent. And just like that...Wednesday nights have suddenly become date night with Ninja Sushi and the movies with my Son. Ninja Sushi never does me wrong. From the loud hello when you walk in like I am at a family gathering, to the warm thank you and goodbye. I absolutely love the people who work here and the food that goes with it. I could type a billion suggestions, but I am going to pretend like you are my date and I am picking so get ready! Don't worry, I won't ask for you to tip ;). We get this party started with a crazy edamame and a heart attack. Seriously, the heart attack is deep fried jalapenos stuffed with tuna and garlic and the taste has you in a trans. Also don't forget the sake bomb to wash it down. Next out is the fresh oyster and pepper fin. If you are with a child, my son (who is 4) gets the bento box with teriyaki chicken and gyoza, but I go big with two rolls. (Hey, don't judge me; a mom has to eat). I choose the Hot Ex Wife roll (HEEEEYYYY) and Spicy Johnny, but I switch it up sometimes with the Titanic and Crazy Crazy or Crunchy Cali depending on my mood. All of these rolls have flavor that will keep you wanting more. Lastly, the tempura ice cream (Vanilla) and one strawberry Mochi would be necessary to end the night before we head to the movie theatre next door and go hard on popcorn. My mom came in today with two separate To-go orders, one for herself, and one for my dad who is allergic to fish. My mom made sure to warn them about my dads fish allergy to avoid any contamination when making his rolls. Not only were they extremely rude taking her order and made her pay extra for sauce even though they were 2 separate orders and therefore should both come with sauce, but they also completely messed up my dads 2nd roll. He ordered 2 white roses which come with deep fried shrimp, cucumber, and cream cheese. His first roll was fine, his second roll however had imitation crab in it which is fish. When I called and asked to speak to the manager about the incident, not only was she EXTREMELY RUDE, she also said and I quote "maybe if he is so allergic to fish he should have checked the roll before putting it in his mouth". She didn't bother apologizing, and just kept on trying to accuse us of doing something wrong. I finally made her agree to give us a refund which should have been offered in the beginning of our call. Not sure if this is the managers right name but our receipt says Char, she was the one who took my moms order. Crazy Sushi used to be our go to place when eating out. We used to eat here multiple times a week. With that being said, we will not be returning to this establishment. In the past we have been able to look past the rude staff or the longer than projected wait time. After waking up this morning having serious stomach issues and thinking that one of us may need to go to the hospital we can no longer look past this. They used to be an option on Door Dash and this made ordering very convenient especially during COVID and being that I was pregnant and high risk and my spouse is diabetic. They stopped doing Door Dash to focus on their in house guests. But every time that I have done a pick up order their in house guests were very few. With that being the case one would imagine that our order would be done in a timely fashion. This was not the case and we usually had to wait an additional 20-40 minutes for our order. There are also times where we made a request for extra soy sauce packets, wasabi, etc. and those requests were met with an eye roll and not received well because there are only a couple of times that this actually happened. If the issue was that we needed to pay extra we would do so but nothing was ever said. Just a lot of attitude. As well, last night the extra ginger that I received was fermented and rotten. Do not recommend, will not be going back. read more

My fiancé and I have come here twice now, both times the service has been awful. We had drink orders taken almost immediately, and then waited another 30 minutes to get our food orders taken. The restaurant seems to stay busy for dine in and takeout during a pandemic, which is always good to see. There are a few things I love about Crazy Sushi and one is being the 99 ¢ sake on Thursdays. My friends and I love to come here on Thursdays. Another thing I can say is that I am VERY picky when it comes to ordering sashimi. However, I love the sashimi platter and order it almost every time I come. The prices are fairly cheap and you get a good amount of food. For two people our bill was $40 and we ordered the pepper fin (which was amazing), edamame, sake, two rolls from the 50% off menu, miso soups, and gyoza. THAT IS A LOT OF FOOD PEOPLE. Prompt service and an amazing variety of sushi rolls. We ended up bringing 3 kids in and making a terrible mess of our table. We had a sweet, understanding waitress (Jenny) who was literally one of the best waitresses I have ever had, down to filling my drink up right when it was empty.
