A Jefferson staple! I love the new location, the decorated jail cells are so unique. The coffee selections are pretty good and I always love trying the temporary flavors. But the real star of the show is the sandwich menu. Anything with their spiced bacon is incredibly delicious, the maverick being my go-to. A bit pricey for what you get, but it's a unique experience with a good variety of choices for breakfast, lunch, and desserts. Each jail cell is decorated differently, and we ate in the game room. Nice looking café clean and well furnished. The staff is polite and well spoken, they answered my questions and catered nicely. I ordered the Augusta BLT, it comes with pimento cheese, arugula, tomato and spiced bacon. I thought that sounded great, so I ordered it w/o the cheese I'm not a fan of pimento. The lady who took my order informed me they indeed have a regular one, however I declined because I wanted the specific ingredients.received it piping hot, fantastic. Then I opened the box and was met with the saddest excuse of a BLT I ever seen. I was met with a singular soggy tomato, ONE and a HALF strips of bacon. This is the stingiest sandwich I ever gotten. WHY in gods name is this sandwich $8??? I read reviews and it apparently used to be $5? Regardless, it should be renamed as a Pimento Grilled cheese w/ bacon, arugula and tomato. Such a fun little spot. When visiting friends this past March, we were brought here for breakfast. Our breakfast sandwiches were delicious and those cheesy grits were oh-so-heavenly. We have been to this cute coffee shop a dozen of times and had such a great experience. However, about a month ago we had a really bad experience- cold grits and just didn't taste good like usual. We decided try one more time because we loved it so much. We came this past Saturday and were so disappointed. The grits were amazing and hot but our bagel sandwiches were stone cold- cold cheese, cold eggs. I took them back to request fresh sandwiches and the staff was not friendly at all and looked as though we were annoying them by asking to remake our food. We may have been overcharged as well- $30 for two sandwiches and two cups of grits and one drink.... Hmmmm won't be back..... read more

Musty "grandma's attic smell" according to my kids - at least, in the hallway with the jail cells. It's a really cute concept, but I don't understand why they'd name it Cream & Shuga and not some kind of prison-pun. The gal who took our order was really nice, but there was another member of the staff off to the side that looked miserable, like her job was the worst thing in the world. The food was good, but WAY overpriced for a family of four to eat a sandwich for lunch and spend $50+. They should consider making a combo lunch and at least offer some chips or a pickle on the side of their sandwiches. My coffee cup was speckled with old grounds at the bottom when I was finishing it and wasn't served hot. All in all, a cute spot that I'd go to again, especially for breakfast instead. Wierd hours too - not open for lunch on the weekends seems odd. read more

I can't wait to come back!! I wandered in a couple of weeks ago alone for lunch, ordered the Maverick with a side of pasta salad and a Coca-Cola, and LOVED my lunch! It's a cafe & coffee shop with excellent sandwiches! I plan to drop in and check out their breakfast in the near future! Lunch Break - Just Pick Up Location: it's in a pretty quiet area. The parking lot is a little weird. Even the UPS guy parked his truck at a slant sort of in the middle of the parking lot. You'll see what I'm talking about regarding the tight parking when you go. Atmosphere: This is a super cozy little cafe. I can see why someone would come here and just work on their laptop. Very spacious and clean with soft elevator music :) Food: Eh, but I'm also really picky. I just felt like the ingredients weren't fresh or something. The wrap had a strange after taste. This is why one star is off. Customer service: I only picked up my order, so I can't speak too much on that, but when I asked where to pick up my order, the young lady behind the desk was kind of dismissive. Cute little spot in Jefferson. My sausage, egg and cheese bagel was flavorful although not a "looker". The bagel was perfect so if you're looking for some hot drinks with some good bagels, this is definitely a good spot to stop by if you're in the area. Love this cute and unique cafe! I like how they transformed the old police station. My friend raved about this place so when I came to visit her, we decided to make a stop for lunch. We came in with our kids for lunch around 12:30. We both found parking with no problem. The line at the counter was short and fast. Plenty of seating. The old cells have been transformed to private seating areas. I ordered a white mocha with almond milk and an Augusta BLT ($5), and my son ordered the Maverick ($5.50). My friend ordered the Picnic ($5) with a side of grape salad and her daughter ordered a PB&J sandwich. We sat in a big open room with a fireplace. There was a TV, but it was turned off. The food was delicious! I thoroughly enjoyed my Augusta BLT. The flavors meshed well. I got to try my son's Maverick and that was really good, too. My white mocha had enough sweetness. The prices are affordable for the portions you get. The staff was friendly and responsive. The service was fast. However, it's one of those places where customers dispose of their own trash and return used dishes. I wish this place was closer to me! We visited friends in the area recently and asked them to recommend a local place we could stop at for breakfast on our way out of town. This place is practically in their neighborhood and they raved about it. Cream & Shuga is incredible!!! I enjoyed a hot chocolate which they kindly added mint to for me. Delicious!!! My boyfriend ordered regular coffee. He liked that he was able to put his own cream and sugar in and that they had different flavors of creamer to choose from. We each ordered the ham, egg, and cheese croissant. One had pepper jack cheese and the other had cheddar. They were the best thing ever!! The restaurant occupies the space of an old jail. Some of the cells are still in tact. The bars are there along with the toilets and showers. They've added comfy seating areas and chic decor to make it welcoming and homey. We had such a nice time sitting on the couch in one of the cells that we didn't want to get on the road for our road trip. It was great having a private room for our breakfast date. The whole place is so inviting and welcoming. All of the staff members were incredibly friendly too. We just wish this place existed in our neighborhood! read more

The restaurant is in an old jail, which is cool. You can even eat in a jail cell, but they do have regular tables if you're not into that sort of thing. The food is top quality always, I've never had a bad meal here. All that said, fair warning when you go, the staff is very rude and snobby. How have I not reviewed here yet? This is one of my favorite local places. It's such a breath of fresh air. Everyone is usually really nice. As someone who can't eat pork products, I am always STOKED when I see they have turkey options! My go-to is a croissant with turkey sausage, egg, and provolone cheese. The baked goods are always delicious; the blueberry bar is one of my favorites. I also love their paninis! Everything is so fresh and good. I really love their iced coffees, the Andes mint one is my favorite. It's so fun to go inside and choose a room to hang out in. I usually find myself in the kids room with my toddler, and it's so awesome to me that they provide toys and chalk and books to occupy the little ones. I just love the atmosphere here. I wish I could get here more. The prices are also incredibly reasonable. It's a great place to be! read more
