Strawberry matcha + candy cap mushroom

Ice cream store inside Chapters book store! They have a coffee counter too. 3 great businesses under one roof. Delicious home made ice cream flavors. Love the matcha strawberry, cold brew coffee & chocolate and stuff. But the best flavor I have ever tried from here.... Candy cap mushroom!! It tastes like butter pecan, but is made with cream and candy cap mushrooms. I don't even like mushrooms. Out of this world.

A special treat, especially on a hot summer day! We had a waffle cone and waffle bowl. One had Banana Pudding & Chocolate + Stuff. The bowl had a split scoop of Basil + Berries & Sour Cream + Strawberries. Delish!! I will be dreaming of this creamery! Plus, it is a perk that it is inside Chapters Coffee Tea and Bookshop! It is the Trifecta!

Amazing ice cream. House made small batch ice cream. The coffee and carmel ice cream was as good as any coffee ice cream I've had. So good. Didn't try the chocolate. The waffle cones are made to order. Nothing like a fresh slightly warm waffle cone with your ice cream. Amazing!!!

Strawberry sour cream and lemon meringue flavors.

Cool little bookstore, coffee shop and ice cream parlor all in one. Ice creams were very good quality. I I especially loved the sour cream and strawberry flavor, super tangy and sharp. I almost think the strawberry could have been a more of a sweet jam swirled in, which would have contrasted with the sour cream better. Still, it was very tasty. The lemon meringue was bright and fresh, though I didn't really detect any taste of meringue. Overall, I would definitely go back here and sample more flavors.

Amazing ice cream. Toasted cream (I think that's the name) and early grey are 10/10. Don't sleep on the waffle cones either. Located inside chapters book store, there is a cute little coffee place too. Great spot

We were visiting the area, staying in a hotel nearby for two nights. The kids wanted ice cream and we found this place based on reviews. We ended up going back the second night of our stay because it was so good! The waffle cones are freshly made every time. My husband and I both got the chocolate coconut ice cream in a waffle cone. One of our kids got the chocolate ice cream and the other one got wildberry. It's inside a bookstore which was already closed by the time we went. Plenty of seating to sit and eat your ice cream. Service was good, they got our cones to us quickly even though they were busy and making each cone fresh.

Chocolate & stuff and Thai tea

Homemade ice cream on the side of the highway, in Newberg, OR you say? Well, yeah, we're stopping! How could you not? Am I right? So we took a little day trip out to Neskowin and being that it was cloudy and cool out there for most of the day, it was time to head back and yeah, the sun and heat showed up. My brother's girlfriend mentioned Cream and a little about the cart. Ummm... yes. We stopped and some really nice and unique flavors. Chocolate and stuff, Thai iced tea and one with cardamom, plus a couple others. This Thai iced tea was like I was enjoying the real thing. No watered down taste at all. Really great. The chocolate and stuff had chips and caramel in it and was quite creamy. We even got a dairy free option for the sweet pittie (miss Sylvie) that was with us. She took that ice cream apart very fast. Two folks run this little cart and he makes all the ice cream himself. It is definitely a stop worth making when you venture out this way. Just make sure they are open because they aren't there all the time. I imagine with summer upon us, they will be there more frequently. We all scream for great ice cream. Enjoy.

Walking in at 9AM, they had plenty of prepicked pints on a table and also an entire field of strawberries available for U-Pick. Pricing is actually cheaper for the pre-picked pints, but I assume that's because U-Pick means you're eating while picking as well. Red Berry Barn grows three types of strawberries on their farm. Firstly, probably 30-40 rows of Hoods, then some Shuksans, and finally the ever popular (for farmers, given the day-neutral designation) Albion. It's actually quite easy telling the three apart. The Hoods are overgrown, barely kept organized into rows, with lighter color leaves hiding all of the strawberry red deliciousness hiding underneath. The Shuksans in the center, are the tallest of the plants, with striking dark green foliage. The Albions in the last rows look almost emaciated, with small leaves barely able to support the ample stock of strawberries growing from them. Red Berry Barn doesn't have any particular system for organized picking unlike some other U-Pick farms. Most the field was flush with berries, so we just wandered around wherever we wanted to pick the strawberries. We went here specifically to purchase and pick Hoods. The strawberries here aren't like those of other farms. For some reason, the Hoods are much larger, perhaps 3-4x the size of other Hoods, but still with the protruding cap. The outer shell is also quite a bit harder than the typical soft Hood. The taste isn't the same either, being still sweet and plump with good strawberry fragrance, but missing some of the perfumy quality an excellent Hood has from some of the non U-Pick farms. The skin is also much firmer - usually Hoods only last a day or two before going bad due to how delicate their skins are, but on Day 2, these strawberries were still firm. I have no idea if it's the terroir or the growing and fertilizer regimen fed to the strawberries or not. The Shuksans didn't seem to be ready at the time we visited. I tried a couple that looked ripe on the plants, but they were still mostly hard and tasted like sour water. The Albions, however, were among the best Albions I've had, at least the most ripe ones which consist of perhaps only 5% of the crop. They're super sweet and almost reach Hood levels of perfumy quality but with a different taste. Most Albions, however, basically taste like cold storage grocery store strawberries. Just to hammer it in more - the best of the everbearing and/or day neutral varieties like Albion can be great, but on average, they are worse than June-bearing varieties! Albion especially I think is built for shelf life thanks to the waxy coat on the exterior and the firm interior. We ended up buying a half flat of Hoods to save us some time, and picked up a $16 basket that probably fit around 3-4 pints of strawberries. Red Berry Farm derinitely does in a pinch to get some fresh strawberries. I don't think their Hoods are as good as from other farms, but they're still miles better than any grocery store strawberry.

We are glad it was the Newbergundian Bistro. We had to start with a Croissant. It was very flavorful, but it was bit soft, not the perfect crunch that we love. We started at the bar, which was not comfortable for my mom but eventually we were able to sit on the patio which was great. Potato croquet appetizer - yummy. I tried the grilled cheese which my sister got too - yummy, but there's a sticky cheese on there that I didn't love. Greens that came with all items were weird.
