We were from out of town, but came here because it was Mary's hometown and she would be buried here. Mary had severe mental issues, so she didn't have a lot of close friends. I am her cousin, and have been her guardian for 3 years, but her amazing caregivers were the people who really knew her well. So basically we were giving a funeral for a lot of people that I didn't know. They let me come in and handle things the way I chose to - more informally, because Mary was anything but formal, and they were respectful and loving and kind with every aspect. Many people from our family have had funerals at Roller and even though my memories of being there are sad, they handled everything with dignity, grace and respect for the family! My mom passed away in San Antonio, TX and they coordinated with another funeral home and solved problems the one in San Antonio couldn't and transported her body from San Antonio to Little Rock. The staff was so courteous and caring and went out of their way to make me feel everything was under control because the last thing I needed was stress during that time. Craig and Mandy took amazing care of me and were patient with me during my constant barrage of questions and concerns. Also, the way my mom looked was incredible. It's almost as if they knew how she had looked all her life and she looked so peaceful and natural. They dressed her in an outfit my wife picked out and put the jewelry on her in such a classy way. The graveside funeral itself was such a special time for our family and was exactly what we wanted. Billy was so caring, patient and compassionate. On the day of my mother's death, Andre Acklin arrived quickly and was incredibly professional and helpful to my father. Back at the office, Twyla helped me with my mother's obituary and quickly posted the online information. She also quickly corrected an error when I realized I misstated something. I like their online page much better because you can post additional photos, whereas the other establishment never even told me there was an option for a photo. This type of transaction is a "forever" experience, and the last thing you want is to remember the rest of your life how you were cheated during such a painful time.
