These guys did an incredible job refinishing about 1600sf of REAL hardwood floors for me in Oct. By real, I mean the kind that were used in the early 1960's. The house was a flip and in bad shape. The floors were no exception. They had seemingly never been covered in carpet (as we see so often these days) and I'm willing to bet had never been refinished before. They were abused. I left the house as the crew began sanding. Returned a few hours later. I opened the front door and gasped saw the floors stripped of all the old stain and damage and stains from the previous owner. I couldn't gush over them enough! We went with a medium walnut tinted flat stain. The final result was nothing less than stunning! There was no trash, bubbles, high spots. No mess all over the baseboards. It was turn key. Also, there was one small area (3" x 12" maybe?) that had suffered water damage next to a door. The repair they did looked original. I'll also add that their customer service was great too! I had written a check for the deposit to have the work done and paid the balance in cash when they were finished and the crew lead provided me a hand-written receipt. Six months later while putting everything together for taxes, I realized I never received a receipt from Creative Stone (nor do I recall asking for one). One phone call and a transfer to their accounting person and within seconds I had the invoice in my email. I don't often give a full 5 stars for reviews. There's ALWAYS something that could be improved on. But I can't think of a single thing I wish had been different. Well done, Creative Stone! read more

But I hired this company in December of 2023 was told that work would be done before the end of the year the give me a quote and asked the payment in full before it would be start so I did this was a 2 part job so they did my floors there guys could not do it the had to hire a sup contract to do my floors but the sub would not work on the stairs they made a promise that it would done by end of year and they could not fulfill that promise so they did not finish tell March the sub did great work on floor but when it came to the stairs was different issues they did so bad that my stair has 3 different colors the over grinder they had to replace my bottom step and they give me different color wood They are not organized they don't not take responsibility for there own employees they never on time they would schedule to come at 8am and some time don't show tell 2pm or don't show up at all when you speak to management the act like they have no idea when you speak to the person scheduled they have now idea and above all when you talk to the owner he act like he is doing you a favor we did not end on good terms and they still owe me money. What ever you do don't not pay them in full up front when you do that they we'll try to take there time and all ways have to much jobs lined up and when you take a job away from them they we'll try to deduct as much as they feel is right they don't not take responsibility for they're own employees they all ways pass the blame on some one else this only a few issues that happen it took 5 months to finish a job and still did not complete when you ask him why my would looks like they swear that they got the right wood ever though I told them that's not the right color before they installed it and this is would I have to look at every morning and I paid almost 10 thousand and this would you get for you money. read more

We initially started with just wanting and island in our kitchen back in Jan 23. We paid in full. Was supposed to be done mid-Feb, it wasn't. It took till mid April. We also did a contract for a bath remodel. Paid 17K down. Was a good pitch. Led us to believe the project would start within a couple weeks of the supplies being purchased. That did not happen. It is now May 23 and we cannot even get them to return any attempts at communicating. Lawyers say we have to wait because no time frame in the contract. Seems there should be something reasonable. It's theft and lying to me. These guys will play you, do NOT trust them. read more

The finished work looks nice but was not worth the headache of working with this company. No communication between the various staff and contractors, had to keep calling for information. The owner didn't know what we had already agreed to in our contract and went totally ballistic on my husband. I was shocked at the level of unprofessionalism and blatant disrespect toward my husband in our home. It was appalling. He was so combative and hostile that I was hiding in the back room scared. Turns out, my husband knew what he was talking about and the guy called the next day to apologize. Apology not accepted. Do not work with this company. Overall, working with Creative Stone was a good experience. I did ask for updates and photos since I am an out of state property owner and was not provided any. The new back piece of the counters was also shorter than anticipated and the walls required repair and repainting due to height difference between the back piece of the previous countertops and the new ones. I'll start this by saying we consulted a handful of companies for a large renovation of our kitchen, we chose this company based upon customer reviews (which is why I am writing this). We also wanted the renovation too happen sooner rather than later because of our plans and schedule. Due to the relationship with this company over the last month and their reaction to honest customer feed back I've provided, I'll not describe much more, simply state I can not recommend them for large renovations. While the owner did provide the services agreed upon by contract, it was not what I (me, myself and I) feel was the best outcome for us. read more

They were great I'm terms of price, availability and install. However the only reason I'm marking them down is because about 2 months we started getting mold in the caulk around the under mount sink. I called them today (6 months after install) and told them about it and that we've tried everything to get rid of it but it keeps spreading. I was told "it's just something that happens" and "it's not really a repair issue" and when I said "so you use products for install that are prone to mold" I was told again "it's just something that happens". No attempt to give me some ideas as to how to remedy it or offers to send someone out to fix it. Don't even know if it's their responsibility to fix it but after only 6 months of use I don't think it should already be molding. The lady on the phone was also very dismissive as if I were inconveniencing her. I guess some people just don't take "customer service" seriously anymore. read more

I needed to replace a butcher block cutting board and decided to do it with a cut of granite. Long story short it took them 6 weeks to do what was originally quoted to take a week. I had to go back about 8 times because they never called when they said they would and gave wrong information about the process. The final straw was when I gave them the butcher block to match sizes and they cut it too large. 2nd final straw is when they charged me for the larger size that they cut incorrectly. Nice enough to talk to when face to face but as soon as you walk out they will forget all about you until you come back face to face again. When I remodel my kitchen, upgrading to all granite countertops I will not be using this company. read more

I contacted Creative Stone July 25th, 2019 On August 6th, after working out the details, I was told my project would take 4 to 8 weeks. After 7 1/2 months, my work was not complete. The owner (Richard Johnson) continually blamed me for the delays. There were times when no one showed up at my house for weeks and yet it's my fault. The contract was written up vaguely. Because of this, many things I had asked for were denied because "It's not worded in the contract". I had told Richard I needed the house piped for gas. The contract stated plumbing. When it came time, Richard said he forgot to add that and bang - another $3200. During the remodel, my back yard was trashed by the workers. But because it was not cited in the contract, he refused to repair the damage. In the reviews, you'll see others who had damage and experienced this as well. I was told if I had them purchase appliances, I would not be hit with an upcharge. I gave them the exact model numbers I wanted and when it came time to modify the contract to accommodate this expense, they had added a 50% upcharge. I had them remove the appliances. They did however get me on a 300% upcharge per toilet (worth $200, paid $600 per) on the 3 toilets I bought. And had I not noticed when they brought the toilets out the 1st time, they had brought out an inferior set of toilets (Gerber instead of Toto). Communication is challenging at best. When I talked with Richard, he was often condescending. During scheduled meetings, he was constantly walking away from the table to take calls, talk to his staff about whatever, and once even went to the break area and ate with me sitting there watching. I feel had he actually paid attention to what I was saying, all the things he "forgot" would have been incorporated in my contract. On numerous occasions, they didn't have their facts straight. When I called them out, Richard got belligerent claiming he never lies. Well, I have a difference of opinion there. The straw that broke the camel's back: My original quote was for $45K. After 7 1/2 months of being without a kitchen, spending roughly $1500 dollars extra for the extended eating out period, the added $3200 for not adding the pipes I told him about, a $2500 foundation repair that was discovered, and various other nit noids, my project increased to $53K. At this point Richard still owed me a front porch which he acknowledged to me he owed. But as the time to rebuild the porch drew closer, each time I mentioned it to Richard, he diminished the amount of work he owed me for it. It was completely rotted out and all he wanted to do was replace the deck boards. When I told him I couldn't afford to replace the girders myself (which he owed me but for the vagueness of the contract, he denied such), and I needed to just drop it and I pay him for the work completed, He actually had the gall to cuss me out for 5 minutes. During his rant, he stated he needed to do the porch so he could recoup expenses he was out during the rest of the project. At this point, I knew he was going to gouge me for the uncontracted work. After all the anguish, drinking, and being continually pissed off for over 7 months, on March 23rd, 2020, I went down and paid him off with him still owing me work. I then spent $10K out of my pocket to rebuild the porch. And I haven't seen a penny of what I paid Richard for on work he didn't accomplish. Because of Creative Stone, I missed several major life events (Mothers 80th birthday, Thanksgiving, Christmas, my 40th reunion), all because of a project that was supposed to be completed by Nov 15th, 2019. Don't just take my word for it. Do yourself a favor and do YOUR due diligence. Look at ALL the reviews and you'll see the same trend experienced by others as well. If he gets it right, it's good. But if your one of the unlucky ones, get ready for a nightmare... read more

I don't even know where to begin... This company is so un organized it is ridiculous. First, when we set-up our consultation, the person did show up and I did not get a call until 1 hour and a half after they were supposed to be there. when they finally did call me, I told them do not come and left them a very bad review on Google. It was only after the manager called me about my review(otherwise I would have never heard anything back), and she talked me into giving them a second chance, HUGE MISTAKE. When I went to pick out our floor tiles, we selected a beautiful tile and then I was told that it would be about 2 weeks before they showed up and then we get a call 5 weeks later saying their vendor discontinued those tiles 5 WEEKS! We picked out a second tile, get a call the very next day that those were discontinued as well so they really need to check their stock to make sure they actually have what they say they have . We were promised that we would pick out our own slab of granite-that never happened. Then we had appointments set for our kitchen remodel and construction workers did not show, no call, nothing so my husband took a whole day off from work for absolutely nothing. I was truly upset during the whole process of dealing with this company that by the second time the construction workers did not show, I called up there to speak with the owner personally and not surprisingly, he never called me back. Beth was the ONLY good thing about this company, she brought me back down to sanity each time something went awry. I have never been treated so poorly after giving someone a significant amount of cash up front for an entire job. I have two bathrooms that are getting remodeled next and you could not pay me to use this company ever again. I do have to say that the end result is beautiful but the trauma of dealing with these people was not necessarily worth it and mind you, if I would have received courtesy calls about any of the situations we found ourselves in, I would have never left this review. Creative Stone(CS) was contracted to install new quartz kitchen countertops through the installation department at Lowe's in Kinston, NC. The contract was signed and paid in full on June 19th. CS's installers came on July 1(Mon.) to install the countertops. They did a great job BUT one of the smaller countertops was cut 1/4" too big so it had to be returned. I called CS the next morning(Tues.) to let them know that they would need to finish the project one day that week or on Mon., July 22 because the backsplash would be installed on July 23rd. (We would be out of town the week of July 15) I spoke with Pamela's assistant and she seemed to understand. I did not hear from CS again until I called them while out of town on July 16, to see when I could expect them on that Mon., July 22. I spoke with Pamela and she could have cared less. (they had their money, why should she?) She said that they would be close to my area and she could "work me in" on Thurs., July 18th, but as explained earlier we were out of state. She acted as if this was my problem when they should have been trying to make their Wrong, Right! It was written up correctly on the order form and they cut it wrong( yep, it happens!) I understand things like this happen but the company should go out of their way to correct the mistake. Not PAMELA! She was doing me a favor! We did schedule for late in the afternoon on Tuesday, July 23 which was the day of the backsplash installation. The guy(also contracted through Lowes) came and was extremely nice. He apologized profusely that he couldn't begin the project in hopes that the countertop guys would show before he got to that area to install the backsplash. So, he left and I had to get back in line to reschedule my backsplash installation! The guys did come on that Tuesday, July 23rd at 9:45pm to install the remaining countertop. They were very nice and apologetic for being so late, but they had been slammed that day! I would NEVER use Creative Stone for another project! No more explanation needed. read more

Recently used Fayetteville granite on Raeford Road. They were outstanding and I'm picky. I walked in on a Wednesday and ordered a quartz countertop and two sinks. They came out the following Monday at the time they said they would be there and measured. Stone was installed the same week on Friday. They also lined up their plumber for the same day and he also was on time. The job turned out beautifully I couldn't be more pleased. read more

Contracted a home remodel after April 2021 walk thru by owner (no problem we do this work all the time) on our less than 900 square feet home after selling our almost 2000 sq feet home in Clayton 2019. All seemed wonderful and contract signed early May 2021 with 65% down. Creative Stone went to ordering tile, flooring, cabinets and hardware and told us work to begin end of June/beginning of July 2021. We put all our stuff in storage. Flooring and cabinets delivered end of June/first week of July 2021 (not even sure where the other stuff is) and they were to provide us with a schedule of work to begin in July. Mid July came with an apology email and statement that we were to be on the remodeling schedule for beginning of August. They sent out someone to measure windows and a siding guy so we truly believed work was going to start. Demo did not start til end of September beginning of October and we are now as far as a subfloor. Three seasons thru the pandemic and 10 months since initial walk thru and that's where we are. Subfloor. Work is sporadic at best. Please do your homework. Anyone can write a good review for a company. Read intently all reviews. Watch YouTube videos on how to hire a good contractor and....please get timeline in writing BEFORE deposit. Don't get caught up on the warm and fuzzy feeling/treatment. Take the contract home. Make sure you're protected. I now have a journal of a long and sad contracting experience that's not over yet. read more

I had high hopes since this place since it was recommended by my realtor. First off on install day, they forgot a piece of the granite. So had to wait for that. The people who installed didn't even caulk the granite between the wall and the counter . Well they did about an inch and didn't finish the rest. Then they put in one piece that is REALLY dark and doesn't match the others. I hate this piece everyday I have to look at it. Lastly they told me they would collect the money after install. Nope. Everyone gave me a different story. They finally asked for their money in December when install was done June. Guess they're not eager to get their money. Anyway wouldn't recommend them to anyone. I had a VERY Limited selection but maybe that was because I was on a budget. read more

The problems with this company started soon after we ordered granite countertops and a slab of granite for our fireplace from them. My wife wanted to change the sink so went to the store to ack them about it but they would not let her. We figured that was ok and dealt with it. Next comes the day of the install (2AUG2021). Creative Stone said the installers would be at our house between 9 and 11 AM. At 10 my wife got a call from the dentist saying they had an opening they day for my son. My wife called Tom (salesman) and inquired if it was for sure they would be coming and he said yes for sure they would be here, so my wife called the dentist and declined the appointment. It turns 12 and the installers still have not shown up so I call Creative Stone to ask what is going on. They hang up on me the first two times I call. Finally, at 1230 I speak to a guy at Creative and he says that the installer cannot make it because he has symptoms of COVID. I am quite mad at this point and demand to know why that could not of been communicated to my wife at 10 when she called. He gives some half-cocked apology and then proceeds to start talking down to me by asking if I have heard of COOVID and how it is affecting the schedules of small businesses. That evening Creative calls me back and states that the installer will be there the following day between 11-1. The installer arrives an hour late at 2pm. He installs the countertops which did not exactly fit but he cut some extra granite and made it work. To be fair, the countertops do look really nice. The fireplace slab, however, was cut the wrong size and could not be put in.  The installer then informs my wife that he did not come the day prior because he was overworked. My wife told him that Creative told us it was COVID symptoms and he said that was not the case.  What type of people make up COVID as an excuse when it is completely untrue?? At around 4pm, their plumber gets to the house (where my wife is) and Tom calls me and demands another $100 because I had bought a new dishwasher disposal and did not want to use the existing. I informed Tom that he that told me that I could do this before I purchased the countertops and that I would not pay extra. He finally agreed to not make me pay.  Creative has made it clear that they done give refunds so I think I will just have to eat what I paid for the fireplace slab, because I do not trust them to keep their appointments so I will not have myself or my wife stay home from work for them to miss another appointment. I honestly do not even feel comfortable having them back inside my house knowing that they are the type of people that would make up lies about something as serious as COVID.  If you are reading this, be warned before you use this company. read more

Fayetteville Granite and Creative Stone are the same business at the same address with the same owner. What work they do can be excellent, however if there is a problem they will not correct it and they blame the customer. I contracted them for a double vanity, a single vanity, a fireplace mantel and hearth, and kitchen countertops. Everything was excellent except for the kitchen sink cutout and the handling of the kitchen sink. All my sinks provided were new and my kitchen sink was a workstation sink. Although I repeatedly told the office and the template guy not to cut the kitchen sink cutout so that it blocked the equipment ledge of the sink, when the kitchen sink and granite was installed, the granite blocked access to the workstation ledge--rendering the sink useless as a workstation sink. In addition, 2 weeks after the templater picked up the sink to bring it to the fabricator (the one who cuts the granite)--and 1 day before installation--I was told that the kitchen sink had a scratch on it. That same day, they said they would go ahead with installation the next day and order a kitchen sink to replace the scratched one. 2 weeks later, they went back on their promise. Also, the installers were told that the kitchen sink cutout was too small for the sink to function as a workstation, and they told me that these things happen and the company would schedule a fabricator to come out to my house and correct the problem. For the next 2 weeks, the company ghosted me. First, my contact was never available. If I stubbornly called every 30 minutes until my contact became available, my contact would tell me something reassuring and then promise to call me back. In those 2 weeks, NOBODY ever called me back. I finally showed up in person. I was told that they would no longer honor their promise to replace the scratched sink and that if I wanted the cutout corrected so that I could use the kitchen sink as it was intended, that I would have to sign a second contract promising them an extra $450 on a total contract that was originally over $4700. When I asked to speak to the owner, he was unavailable --and as to date he has never called me. Five days later, they charged my credit card the remainder of the contract--again without contacting me. As to date, my sink is still scratched and you cannot access the equipment ledge that allows its use as a workstation. The rest of their work is beautiful. read more

Customer is "always wrong" with this business. We purchased our granite countertops in August of 2019. Immediately after installation, we were left with a 2" gap and unfinished framing where the old countertop had been removed. I also had an extra seam in the bar I was not happy with. The owner of the company acted like I should know these things would happen with a standard install. After much persistence, the framing was repaired and I have had to learn to live with the seam. Now, 5 months later my granite has darkened significantly. Once again, they are blaming me. I was told I must have either used chemicals on the countertop or it was "exposure to microscopic air particles" from the stovetop vent. I have NOT used chemicals on my countertop. We have had granite countertops in our last 4 houses and we have never had an issue with them changing color. They are only 5 months old. Even though I was given a 1 year warranty, they are refusing to clean and reseal the granite. Basically, they are doing NOTHING (because it's "our fault") Strongly recommend you look elsewhere for your granite. FYI, if you go to a big box hardware store, ask who they contract for materials and installation. We were told they often use Creative Stone. read more

Creative stone is the company listed on our Invoices from Fayetteville Granite. We had our entire kitchen done, cabinets, countertops, floor and tile backsplash done by Fayetteville Granite. The process took more than 2 months to complete and left us with a bathroom for a kitchen for Thanksgiving. The project started with a delay caused by a mis-order and defects in the majority of the cabinets. Planning and communication was in short supply as Fayetteville Granite and its sub contractors would either call with little notice, show up unannounced or show up hours late or not at all after I took vacation time to meet them. I finished some of the work myself to avoid calling the contractors back. I would steer clear of Fayetteville Granite/Creative Stone. read more
