It was 9:30 in the morning, and I sat in front of the church, crying, trying to gather my thoughts of what what I was going through in life this man comes out of the church and asked if I was meeting somebody I said no I'm just sitting here trying to gather my thoughts. He said well you need to leave. This is private property. I was so confused with tears in my eyes. I looked at him and I said I'm sorry and got up and left. I will definitely share my experience with everybody that I know in the manner community. This is definitely not a church of the higher power Matthew 6:33 "God is always ready and waiting for you to pursue Him. No matter how challenging you feel this season is, His love for you is far greater. Seek His kingdom, and He will welcome you with open arms"

Things are obviously different now with the…read moresheltering in place orders, but just saw the Easter musical livestreamed and it was AMAZING, considering how seamlessly (and safely!) it was put together with a combination of music, drama, and a live message. In such an uncertain and spiritually needy time like this, it's been rough. But I really appreciate that I can still be fed spiritually even though the church can't physically meet up with messages that are live-streamed Suns 10am/5pm and Weds 7pm. But, this church is even better in person. Super friendly greeters welcome you with a gift as soon as you walk in and you feel at home! CLASSES: There's a nursery and classes for kids, youth, college, career, married, young parents, and adults. Parents can actually focus in their own class because there's kids programs at the same time. The teachers are even live scanned for safety so there's no need to worry. SPIRITUAL NEEDS: The messages are practical and Bible based. The pastor has tremendous wisdom and has the power of God on him. And he sincerely CARES! He takes the time to know people by name: he knows my name, my family's names, and my friends' names. He actually asks how my family and I are doing and prays for me! No matter how busy he is, he has personally taken time for me and my family whenever we have needed it. EVENTS: There's lots of special events that are absolutely amazing: kids activities, public safety/official appreciations, musicals, conferences, guest speakers, and great preaching. They are even equipped with their own culinary team for certain events! OTHER NEEDS: Complementary vans pick up those without transportation in the local area. There are classes and translation in Spanish and Mandarin. Looking forward to coming back with my family after the sheltering orders are lifted. Until then, I'll be watching by livestream.

I also enjoy our other pastor's sermons as well, such as; Spencer Romero, Christopher Stites, etc. The service is organized into 4 - Parts; The Tension (What question will this message answer?), The Truth (What scripture will this message be taught from?), The Takeway (What is the main point of the message?), The To-Do (How should I apply this message to my life?). theMOVEMENT also has MOVEMENTgroups which are essentially "small groups" or "life groups" where we can join in community with one another. The worship team is definitely about Israel Houghton and it was fun and singable for everyone in the auditorium (which I've found worship teams forget to consider these days). They have a large cafe and it was good to have a place to sit while we waited for service, but wow, that coffee line is way too long, so we didn't get to try it.
