Crescent Ridge was my favorite stop of the entire Boston trip. If you are already in the area, I would absolutely recommend making a visit. The serving sizes were humongous, even when just asking for a sample, they gave us a full spoonful to try, which we more than appreciated. We got the s'mores ice cream, and it was incredible. Some of the best ice cream I've had while traveling! Not many places can beat Graeter's (Cincinnati) but this comes close! I tried something out of the norm, campfire - which was marshmallow ice cream with graham cracker chunks and chocolate. SO GOOD. Not super sweet. The service is quick and even if there is a small line it'll move fairly quickly. The ice cream here is rich, smooth, and creamy. They use real chunks of strawberry in the ice cream and the cotton candy flavor isn't too sweet or artificial. The size of the kiddie cone was huge and I wasn't sure if I'd be able to finish it, but lo and behold after some time it was all gone. After walking around Boston all day, my family and I stopped by Boston Public Market without any real thought beyond more exploring. I am now so thankful that we decided to get ice cream here bc EJ was absolutely incredible and the flavors we got were super delicious!!! Wow Wow Wow!! I come BPM all the time and I can't believe I've never tried this place until now. I guess I was going for those super popular places like Tosconini, JP licks, Emack and Bollio etc, but I somehow missed this tiny shop in BPM. Ice cream: 5/5! The vanilla ice cream is just soooo creamy and the aroma of fresh cream is so intense! I loved all the milk/cream taste unwrap in my mouth with every bite! Second the staff is sooooooo friendly! I got a pint, and he took each scoop and pressed soooo hard into the tub! so it was a solid pint of ice cream. It was not like some other hyped ice cream places where they just loosely pack ice cream into the tub. And he even put a parchment paper on top before putting the lid on, which prevented the ice cream from spill over or stick to the lid when you open it at home! Very impressed! Yum! Not much more is required. Crescent ridge dairy has won multiple best ice cream and milk awards at world dairy organization shows. Their products have been featured in best of the Us lists in Food and Wine, National Geographic, and other publications. They have many dairy products for sale, but my review only covers their ice cream. You can't go wrong here on ice cream and the portions are big. The cake batter (vanilla and chocolate ice cream, fudge swirl, and pieces of cake) and cow prints (vanilla, chocolate chips, and peanut butter cups pieces) were phenomenal. The extreme chocolate is very good if you are in mood for dark chocolate. The small cup is deceiving. I may downsize to the kiddie in the future if I don't need two flavors. I highly recommend crescent ridge dairy's location in the Boston Public market if you are in the area looking for some fantastic ice cream. It is definitely the best ice cream in the downtown and north end areas. As a Boston resident, I'd say it's in the top 3 for all of Boston. read more

Alright, listen up my d00ds. Crescent Ridge is not here to PLAY, Yelpiverse !! It was a Wednesday afternoon. 3pm. Hump day vibes at their peak. Overhearing conversations of coworkers' vacation plans for the next week and reflecting on the mundane hum drum of the rest of my foreseeable summer, I let out a sigh. And then, a still small voice in my head whispered two magical words: ice cream. With a gasp, I whispered to the other interns in my office: "Ice cream," as if I was possessed by some sort of spiritual, lactose-filled force. Slowly, I saw their eyes light up against the gloom of a rainy Wednesday. Excited, we murmured amongst ourselves on how to escape our cubicles and take an unnoticed ice cream break. We sacrificed two interns to stay back and help us formulate an alibi if anyone caught wind of our tomfoolery (They were also the responsible ones and actually stayed back to work.) One by one, we lifted ourselves from our rolling black office chairs, nonchalantly strolled out of the office, and squished into the elevator, giggling, "hehe"-ing, and whispering, "I can't believe we're doing this!" Through the glass doors of our downtown office, we inhaled deeply: freedom. Our victory was short-lived, as our excitement quickly faded at the sight of grey skies and sprinkling rain. But we had already begun our journey! We could not turn back, not even for the umbrellas we had brought that morning in fear of getting caught! And thus, we trekked forward, sharing one hot pink umbrella for the 9 of us. Enduring frizzy hair, dirty eyeglasses, and humid air, we finally reached our safe haven: the Boston Public Market. We shot straight for our destination: Crescent Ridge. Greeted by tubs of colorful flavors and a sweet sweet woman who helped us fulfill our Wednesday afternoon cravings, I eventually ordered a kiddie cup of the black raspberry chocolate chip and the strawberry flavor. Distracted by my co-conspirators, I blindly paid for my ice cream. Once I turned back around, I let out a gasp. What I expected of this afternoon was a sneaky little cup of ice cream, geographically, like...a smol hill. Instead, I encountered a MOUNTAIN. The amount of ice cream I received was grander than most large sizes from other vendors! Like...she was THIQQQQQQ^10. What child can actually consume all of this "kiddie cup", I know not. But then again, the U.S. faces an abysmal situation in regards to incidence and prevalence rates of obesity and diabetes (+ comorbidities) overall, including adolescents. (Source: my lifetime. I...am a bad public health professional, I apologize.) My friendos and I luckily found a table to loiter around, we dug right in. Relishing in the prominent and authentic black raspberry flavor, juxtaposed to the variety of texture provided by the chocolate chips, the corners of my lips turned up in pure delight. But five minutes in, we encountered a turn of events. The long and arduous journey to escape from the office continued to throw obstacles our way. Heavy breathing, sighs of despair, and mentions of, "I really can't do this anymore," we all found ourselves struggling to finish. In the end, we relented. Defeated. With the whole scoop of strawberry left, I raised my hands and waved my white flag in surrender. The ice cream was just too dang sweet, and I just could not do it. In shame, we threw away the unfinished lumps of once-frozen sugar and thus wrapped up our time in the Boston Public Market, trekking back to the office, heads hanging low, an air of "unfinished business" hanging over our heads. Riding back up the steel grey elevators, we recounted our shenanigans. We snuck back into our cubicles, unnoticed. WHEW. Safe. 'Twas good while it lasted. Do not fear, this will not be the end of our internship escapades! In all seriousness: 4 stars given the great customer service and portion sizes.
