Went here to get some cloths cleaned and a few shirts altered. The cleaning went well and was expensive but at least it was reasonable. My issue came with the alterations that were done. The owner would not give me a direct price for getting some shirts altered, he simply said it would be either 8 dollars if the tailor worked on the back of the shirt or 12 if the tailor worked on the sides. He then told me to come back in a week and left the bill blank so he could add the actual price later. I went back in to pick them up and he decides the prices are now 16 for alterations to the back and 23 for alterations to the sides and basically doubled everything. There wasn't much I could do at that point, so I payed and left. It wouldn't have been that big of an issue, but I gave him 8 shirts to alter and that increase added up quite a bit. If you're getting your cloths altered, don't accept this price range game they play. read more

I've been using Crest Cleaners for almost a year now, and they've really been great. The couple that owns this place always check my clothes thoroughly before dumping it into the bag. They sometimes recommend that I hand-wash some of my dresses instead, so they're really helpful! Once they even covered all the buttons on my Suite to make sure they wouldn't get damaged from the machines! I came here for the first time to try it, I used to go to Rose Avenue cleaners but they were getting a little too pricey for me. I came to this place based on yelp reviews, on the additional plus side it is also close to my fav grocery store-trader joes-so I often pop into TJs after I drop off my laundry. The first time I went in the staff was soo sweet, I dropped off my clothes and went on my way! But I wanted to hold out on the review until I picked my clothes back up!! Who knew this was such a great place? It really looks like nothing from the street, so I was happy and surprised that the people who run this place take so much care with your clothing. When I asked about a fabric that had bled when I rinsed it out, rather than clean it, the owner recommended that I take it back to the store. I've lived around West Los Angeles for over 20 years and I have tried various dry cleaners in the area. Crest Cleaners is as good as it gets. They are really good at getting out stains and they will check your clothes for tears and problems instead of just throwing them in the bag. They are reasonable priced and can do quick turn-arounds. Most of the time I use them for laundering shirts and they will hand press if you prefer instead of the shirt press. The worst part is they are in the Trader Joe's parking lot so parking can be a challenge. If you actually use them you will not be disappointed. read more

I have been a customer of Leo and Evelyn's for over 20 years, staying with them even after I moved, and after they moved from their prior location at National and Sepulveda. There are a lot more places closer to me, but I've dabbled here and there with other dry cleaners, but no more. They are the best. Went here because of Yelp reviews. Brought in a long navy blue gown with intricate beading on the neckline with many chocolate sticky stains on the outer mesh layer. Immediately the (owners?) cautioned me about the risk of sending the beaded gown through their machine (beads may detach and may be lost forever) and the chance that the stains may not come out secondary to the severity of them. I went ahead anyway and the gown was returned to me in perfect condition. Paid just under $15. Thank you for your honesty and for not doing business just for the money. I'm not all that familiar with the dry cleaners. Grocery stores, I would say, are my area of expertise... but dry cleaners? Eh. I know I have to get some things dry cleaned (or pressed) and as long as they do it well, for a decent price, and with a smile, I'm on board. Plus, I HATE ironing. Crest Cleaners is one of two dry cleaners in walking distance of home and the awesome reviews on Yelp sold me. I had actually tried Rose Ave Cleaners first, but kinda got a bad impression there. Instead, I found Crest and am a happy, returning customer. I don't own super expensive clothing nor have I ever needed alterations done... but they do my simple dry cleaning well. They're super friendly, they get stains out that I point out (and even the ones I don't notice), everything's always ready on time, and they have a nice little frequent user card. Ask for it if you don't already have one! Oh, and on the rare occasion that when we need something rushed, they can usually accommodate. My only gripe is that they're not open Sundays. I completely understand that small business owners need a day off but it just makes things a smidge inconvenient. Oh, and parking can be a pain when you're fighting with all the Trader Joe's folks... but hey, this is LA, parking can always be worse! If it's your first time, you can technically park on Palms, but just note that the actual entrance faces Trader Joe's on the other side of the building. Happy dry cleaning! read more

I'm so incredibly grateful to Crest Cleaners for saving not one, not two, but three different pair of pants this last year. Two of the times I got food grease/oil on the pants, the other time it was black automotive grease. They saved three pair of my pants -- all three that I loved dearly. And, because they're honest to a fault, when I turned the pants in, they never promised the miracles that they ultimately delivered... NO, they said, each time "let's see what we can do." I've never truly understood the pricing structure here. Usually, atleast 30 percent of my shirts end up dry-cleaned because they have 'non standard buttons' or something. When I dump my laundry here, its like a Hail Mary pass. Sometimes it costs me 30 bucks, sometimes its 70. I like the couple that run the place (the wife can be gnarly sometimes) and they claim to have some environment friendly process which is good enough for me. read more

I've been hunting for a reliable, somewhat affordable, and convenient dry cleaners for a very long time. After many disappointing trips and wasted dollars I think I may have found the one. It's probably not the cheapest dry cleaners you'll find, but in my experience, when it comes to dry cleaners, you really get what you pay for. They claim to be enviornmentally friendly, so the added cents here and there make up for it. When you walk in, there's a very friendly gentleman behind the counter who is super attentive and nice. He told me as a first timer he'd give me a discount and introduced me to their frequent cleaning program. Love it! I got all my clothes back stainless and clean. When it comes to clothing, I can at times be a disgusting slob. For some reason the nicer the item of clothing, the more attracted it seems to be to mishaps like food dribbles, wine spills...you know the deal. And worse, when said dress or shirt is dry clean only...l I tend to avoid taking it to wash as long as possible. The last two times I came to Crest I dropped off dresses whose condition left me a little embarrassed. Let's just say they had their work cut out for them. When I approached the counter their owner was finishing up a friendly conversation with a regular-looking customer, but he finished quickly and greeted me warmly. I'd like to say by his expressions and kindness he didn't judge me too harshly as I pointed again and again to spots that needed "special attention". The first time around I picked up a dress, paid their very reasonable fee and took it home for inspection, fearing I'd have to write it off as a lost cause. Not so! The silk was spotless and practically glowed. Not only that, they'd kindly sewed back a loose button as well. My second visit I was again impressed with the filth-removing power, taking home another practically brand new article of clothing. I also like that they have Saturday hours. They have a rewards card, which is automatically redeemed when you earn a $10 credit. I don't... usually I just go in and out, but this was different! As I kept coming, it kept getting more expensive. Finally, one day I just couldn't understand why it was $60 for my fluff and fold and I asked him to weigh it in front of me. Whatever stain removal formula they're using just left a bigger stain on my white silk blouse. It was hard to see when I picked it up because it stains like oil (not a different color than the fabric), but once I put it on it was pretty obvious. It had turned the little stain a whitish color (that didn't match the fabric) but also had an oil-like stain surrounding it, making the whole spot bigger. They are nice people and it seems like a decent place to take your clothes if you don't have stains, although I can't vouch for that. read more
