FOLLOW-UP…read more Background: I have used Yelp for years, multi-year "Elite". We recently built a home on rural waterfront property we have owned some 15 years. We have used Possum's 6 or 7 times over the past decade. Jobs included removal of several trees of various sizes, about half with stump removals, plus several multi-tree tree trimmings. We have 3+ac with many trees. Recently, there is a recurring problem. Their "front-man", Rusty Oliver, comes out, assesses needs, and gives a verbal estimate. So far, so good. However, when the work crew does the work on-site, they always want to leave without completing the agreed-on work. The work they do is fine, but they always try to leave 10 or 20% not done. This has resulted in many minor disputes with Rusty re-visits, then work completion, then payment. I don't think the company is dishonest, but they do suffer major internal communication trouble. Possum's has adequate equipment, personnel, and expertise. They are capable of doing very good work. I am not saying to not use them, but I do advise detailed documentation of any agreements before Rusty leaves the first time. Next time, I'm going to take photos first. It has been sad to watch the problems caused by their lack of clear internal communication & documentation. Rick

They started the job Sunday, August 1st. The parameters of the agreement are as follows: cut the bamboo in half and knock it down, cut into sections for easier loading, collect all of the material, load it into a trailer, transport and dispose of all the waste; with an agreed to and set amount-(fee.) They did not collect all of the bamboo that they agreed to; they left at least half of the dead stalks on my property. This person Edwin came the following Monday, August 2nd, with a completely different attitude. I held back the other half of the payment because he did not want to cut the 2 sections on each end of the bamboo run and threatened to offload the bamboo that he cut that day off his trailer back onto my property. He came back the following day and cut down about half of the bamboo on the two corners and loaded it on his trailer and left a 70 foot span of dead bamboo that he refused to haul off of my property as per the original agreement.. I reluctantly paid him the other half off the set fee even though he did not follow through with the original agreement that was set by Raphael. He left half of the dead bamboo across about a 70 foot span on my property which violated the original agreement that I have documented and was texted to me by this person Raphael. I am presently exploring my rights to this agreement and will follow through with whatever necessary to remedy this injustice that was caused upon me.
