Hired this glass company to replace a window glass broken by a painter in a home with windows less…read morethan 1 year old. The home is located in VEro Beach, Fl. My home has 53 windows made by PGT with turtle glass. The glass was approved by the building department both on wind load and turtle compliance. All windows have matching glass and meet code! We had just passed inspection when a glass payne was broken. I call Chancey's glass. They charged 65 to come out to measure. While they were looking at the project I offered to get them the specs on the widows so they would know what kind of glass to order, The rep said he did not need any specs and that he knew exactly what it was. They then required a 50 percent deposit which I paid. They said it would take about 3-4 weeks. After that time passed I started calling. They said they had trouble getting the glass. Then finally after months they showed up and install an amber piece of glass in a huge home that has 521/2 other windows with clear glass. The glass they installed was noticeably different than the other half of the window which has clear glass hurricane turtle compliant glass. The glass Chancey installed was amber and did not meet code or specs required by our building department, I called their office. They told me my glass was no longer available and discontinued, so they did the best they could. They did not even install a PGT glass but rather a glass from ADORA. So I then called the PGT rep with the specs I had and was told the glass is available. Chancey's just did not order the correct glass to match the other 1/2 of the window and the other 52 newly installed windows. PGT referred me to another glass company and I have now ordered the correct payne of matching glass that will be in in 2 weeks. When I called Chancey's to get a refund on the mismatched glass they refused. Even after the office staff told me they had learned a lot from my project! The only problem is they learned on my dime! And my time! as we were trying to get the home listed for sale. It has delayed us for months. This glass company doesn't know what they are doing when ordering glass products. Beware And do not hire. They are not truthful (they never told me the real reason my glass was delayed for months), and they are not ethical. The owner has never spoken to me even though I continue to request to speak to him.I now have paid them and have to pay again to hire a professional glass company to put in the correct glass. Today I asked for a refund and they refused! Beware Do Not Hire! Not a reputable company, they need to train and supervise their technicians better and they need to be truthful and ethical when dealing with customers. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
