This place was so cute for brunch. Our waiter was super friendly and there are a ton of specials. My husband and I split one houston restaurant week meal, which was easily enough for 2. They were also doing $4 mimosas or their start-you-day specialty cocktails for $8. For HRW we got the cheesy balls which were like mozzarella cheese sticks but the mozzarella cheese had even more seasoning than normal which set it over the edge. Crisp is fantastic!!! I came here for my friend's bridal shower, so they had the back patio reserved. Every time I entered or left the area, a staff member was there to open the door for me. Anything we needed, they provided. The attentiveness of the staff here is unmatched. The food was outstanding and the drinks were strong. Pretty good pizza! Unsuspecting restaurant with a huge parking lot. We entered and were led to the back where we were met with a huge patio, benches and small patio tables to the let. The benches were on red sand... which was cute but once children of other parties started running a muck... it kicked up a dust storm that wasn't favorable to our meal. I can't remember the names of my pizzas but they were DELICIOUS. Just know they were vegetarian options... oh my. I think one was a truffle pizza the other was a veggie red sauce pizza with arugula and mushrooms... oooooh-wee. Pleased to the max. Blue-crab-bisque rhymes with no-no-no... at least in my head. Overpowering tomato pasty taste... zero crab in sight and a bunch of potatoes. Blech. Truffle fries. Who can mess up truffle fries. Please tell me so I can call the police. There needs to be a concerted effort to jail offenders of the Truffle Fry. Crisp... did well. Gnats, bees, flies... comes with sitting outside. Saturday in July... Not busy or crowded around 2pm. Kind of dark ambiance. Came in time for brunch but still went with the Gyro sandwich and fries. It is pretty heavy so I was only able to eat half. I have been to Crisp many times before and didn't even know they had a patio. It was a nice surprise! We shared the truffle parm fries, which were so delicious, to start. For our main, the three of us shared the TALEGGIO FLORENTINE pizza. WOW! The kitchen was out of the crispy onions but subbed the chicken for us for free. The crust was so chewy and delicious!! I was just here briefly for a happy hour so I'm basing this on nibbling on some appetizers, the ambiance and the service. Our server was very attentive and things were smooth despite people coming and going randomly over the two hours. The outside area is cute, even has fans. I had a piece of the pizza which had good flavor and a nice crisp-ness to it. Yup, I just had to use "crisp" somewhere in this review. We go frequently for dinner and are rarely disappointed. First time for Sunday Brunch for Easter. Looking forward to it. The place was very empty and then assumed others knew something we didn't. Firstly, it was a cold night when we came and we were told that the outside seating was heated. However, the table we sat at had a broken heater. We ordered the cheese balls for the table and they did not really have flavor, glad the mariana was there to help it. I got the "spicy meatball" calzone and my parents split the create your own pizza. The meatballs inside said calzone were rubbery,bland, and somewhat artificial tasting. As if straight from the freezer. I thought the pizza was alright, but nothing to ride home about. It was missing a topping that was requested. This place is very local to our home yet this was our first time going. We went on Friday around 4:30pm. It was strangely empty and yet the hostess asked if we had a reservation. I had trouble getting the virtual menu to load so he brought me a paper menu. We started out with the meatball duet. It was nothing special. Sauce was good meatball was meaty, but a bit of dry texture. Not bad, but not something I'd order again. I would recommend they top it with mozzarella instead of parmesan. Might improve the overall feel. My husband had the Grilled Spiedini. He typically likes EVERYTHING so was supposed when he said he didn't want to take the leftovers home. The chicken was bland, the veggies were cooked well, but ladled flavor and the faro "risotto" also lacked flavor. Nothing terrible, but nothing noteworthy. I ordered the Toscano pizza. This basically saved the day for Crisp. The sauce was a nice balance of sweet and sour. The onions were sooooo good and the crust was hearth cooked. Very tasty and worth coming back for. After the initial service weirdness with the hostess, our service was quite attentive. Our server brought refills of water and soda quite a few times and overall was friendly. It made up for some of the lack of flavor in the food. Of note: we didn't have drinks or sit at the bar, but the bar looked really nice and there were a lot of people sitting there smiling and having a nice time. Next time we may order drinks. The ultimate betrayal. I was brought some of the limpest fries I have ever seen. While they were hot, they were not fresh. They were not crisp. I ordered the burrata sandwich but swapped the cheese for mozzarella. It was just okay. I wasn't happy with the construction of the sandwich. It might be better on a different bread. Visited this location today for lunch. I had salad and Beer Can Chicken pot pie. The salad was good with a nice lemon vinaigrette. The pot pie was a bit on the sweet side with a lighter creamy sauce. I was hoping for a better pastry topping however the puffed pastry on top wasn't bad, just difficult to eat along with the filling. I think I'll go back and try a pizza as those looked pretty good as well. The only constructive criticism I have is that the waiter we had was pretty slow for how not crowded they were but could just be an off day. Cute spot nestled into The Heights! Ample parking, large menu, and friendly service. We sat outside and the patio space is lovely. Very family friendly as well with lots of kiddos running around. The bar was a bit backed up, but I had a watermelon margarita that was super tasty! Our table started with the truffle fries which were loaded with fresh garlic - yum! This was by far the most awkward and unorganized service experience I've ever had. From the wait staff, to the manager, to the kitchen, everyone's vibe was just completely off. I wish I was over exaggerating. We ordered the house salad. It was miserable. It was the H‑E‑B mixed greens salad mix with a concoction of pesto mixed with cheap olive oil and lemon juice. Sent that back immediately. For food We had a "margarita" pizza if you want to call it that. And a San Marcos or whatever it's called. Both had good flavors but could kill a slug. There is so much salt in their dough. Maybe in hopes of selling more alcohol. We initially asked if we could have a half and half pizza and apparently that darn near broke everyone's brain. I saw the manager chew the waiter out over trying to accommodate our request. Anyways, over all a 2/5 only because the pizzas do have a decent taste. That's it though.
