The group of 10 I was with began to deliberate if we should head back to NYC or hang out on the patio for awhile and wait in quiet desperation. I didn't really care so I just lit up one of the little cigars I had and chilled in the parking lot, which was essentially an active construction zone. There were cranes, piles of lumber, shipping crates, etc. all on top of a gravel parking lot. I felt like I was on a movie set. I had a clear view of the stars too which was so humbling. Like damn I'm just here on this floating rock in the middle of the universe. None of this really matters so I'm just gonna have a good time. Moving from LA to NYC, the 2 most light polluted cities in the US, I never get to see the true night sky. It always gets me existential.
