Albergo Angela Hotel - Not a great photo, but this is the back of the hotel that faces the sea. It has an outdoor patio area that is great!

I stayed at this hotel about 15 years ago, I loved it. We were there in May, which I think was an…read moreoff season for them. It is right in the Adriatic Sea - as in walk out the door and you can hear the waves, smell the sea, and within 60 seconds dip your toes in the water! I remember having wonderful meals in the restaurant with lots of wine. The food and service were excellent. The staff were very friendly, speaking limited English. The rooms we were not overly decorated or lavish, but the simple room accommodated for what we needed - a comfy place to stay that was right on the water, a beautiful beach, and a hub we could use as we traveled around sightseeing the city and nearby towns. We'd start each morning with a light breakfast from their kitchen. They usually had a display of cold cuts, yogurt, croissants, pastries, or cereals. We'd then head out to explore the local history and surrounding areas. There are some interesting ancient digs in Fano, and if you're lucky to get a local tour guide they're point out the interesting spots and show you where to stroll up and down the shoreline - la vasca. A favorite memory: sitting outside on their patio at night after a long day of sightseeing, surrounded by beautiful sweet smelling flowers. As we listened to the soothing waves, we'd drink some (or a lot of) wine, reflect on the day's adventure, and play cards until the wee hours. I would definitely go back, because it was molto bene!

Very disappointed in how hotel Augustus operates over there! Me and my husband are on our honeymoon…read moreand Fano Italy was to be the highlight of our trip. We first flew into Paris to watch a friend get married and the plan was to take off after the wedding to Italy to start our honeymoon. Within 48 hours of our flight to Italy Air France canceled our flight and completely stranded us in Paris which yes is not a bad thing but when you have train tickets that are nonrefundable, hotels that will not refund your money given the amount of striking going on in their own country it blows my mind the lack of consideration these people have towards tourists/customers. I've had these airline tickets, hotels, train tickets purchased for the past four months and it all comes down to the last 48 hours and when the Airlines decide they would rather strike than do their job the hotels rake in the money refusing to cooperate with the situation that is completely out of the hands of the customer. That is taking advantage of your customers and is not wise if your business solely depends on word-of-mouth or repetitive customers, it's almost like a conspiracy between hotels and airlines to simply collect your money. This hotel was supposed to be unbelievably amazing and I am extremely disappointed in the people who operate this hotel on their lack of consideration for especially first time customers. this does not put them in a good light in my eyes and when I do return to Fano I will not be staying at this hotel just based off of this interaction. I understand that last-minute cancellations are problematic but when they are out of the customers hands and you can rebook that room do not make your customer suffer financially. Especially when they're already taking a financial hit from every angle because of a strike going on in the country. Bottom line you're in this business and continue to be because of your customers do not financially trap them if you can help it or they will never want to invest in your business. It's all about trust!
