Clean, well maintained, and ample amenities present. Mini split did a great job keeping up with the 94 degree heat outside. It had a covered back porch with chairs and a swing. Out front was a fire pit, a PK brand grill, and a picnic table. Great amenities. Comfy bed and all appliances worked properly. The kayak rentals are expensive in my opinion. But, they do have a market for them and I am sure the insurance and operations of this place cost a dime at least. I wonder how many people drown on the river a year. Hmmm. I'll have to research. They were very friendly at the front desk at check-in and while we were staying, the swimming spot was nice the views were great. Friendly restaurant. Mostly friendly staff. The showers for camping were musty though, would suffocate you in mildew smell while u shower and your only other option is the other ones closer to the campsites which I wouldn't even step into. Definitely no bare feet in either shower and make sure you don't touch the walls. The float was super fun and beautiful, the boat guys were nice until our last morning, we hadn't even checked out yet let alone there was no info on a checkout time and were not near home or know the area much. We figured we would let the kids swim one last time before heading out and get some fishing in, we were all packed up. My children and I floated down the rapids and caught ourselves at the sand bar of Dawt Mill that we were just staying at. One of the boat dudes asked if i was staying at Dawt mill I said yes but we were checking out today. He then said well then you need to get the hell off our sand. right to me and my children. I got upset and said some words to the guy and asked his name for being so rude. He then told me none of my fucking business. I got out on the other side of the water walked up to the front desk. The guy had already ran up there with his buddy and told front desk whatever he told them. The front desk had no manager on site at first then the lady proceeded to say she was the assistant manager but wouldn't give me her name or the boat guys name. She gave no eye contact and treated me like a pest, She then said checkout was at 11am so just shrugged her shoulders about how he acted, and then said "that's not what she heard" and then rudely said sorry we've been getting a lot of ppl not staying here going on our sand so he was probably just frustrated. Which is not my problem when he made me feel so unwelcome and uneasy, ruined my last morning and we weren't even hanging out on the sand we just got off the rapids there cuz it was easier with my children in stow. I didn't think I'd be so unwelcomed not even an hour after the checkout time. After not being able to assist me properly she called the boat guys manager who then said that it should've been okay for us to swim there since we were just there staying out of the way and the guy just probably didn't remember me and that he was sorry for what happened etc, I said thankyou for the sorry and consideration and I was glad there was actually someone with customer service around, but we just loaded up and left and not sure if we will ever be back. There is too many other places available on the North Fork River to be explored.

The driveway is extremely steep and gravel. The first time I only made it half way in my Subaru Impreza. I bottomed out. Attempts after that I stayed to the far left in low gear and could make it. Then the stairs up to the cabin are very steep with high steps. Inside, the stairs to the left are steep and unevenly spaced. Other than that , the cabin is beautiful. Kitchen fully stocked with whatever pan, bowl or utensil needed. Beds are comfy. Shower is amazing. So is the hot tub. The fire pit area is landscaped nicely . River was up. So, we didn't get to float. However, hiking areas are beautiful. Found our way to Jasper one day and explored there.

We spent one day canoeing on the river and another day hiking to Sunrise Bluff and the old ghost town of Pinnacle Springs. Wild Bills was recommended to me and the rental and floating experience was seamless. I rented a kayak for the 10 mile float. It was late June and the water was perfect and the float was scenic. John provided a bronco busting bus ride to the river. The people at the shop were friendly and helpful. Kayak rental was $69 plus tax. But they do provide a 30 minute bus ride to the drop off to save you the trouble of running cars.

Unfortunately, we do not believe what we were told about the conditions of the river were true. The man behind the counter told us that we may have to, drag our canoe through a couple of spots but no big deal. After setting up camp in Buffalo point campground and actually taking a look at the river and seeing people come off the river, everyone was dragging canoes and Buffalo point, most of the river was just simply ankle deep, we would've had to drag a canoe for miles through slippery rocks to get to the destination for pick up. So one of two things happened, the owners of wild Bill outfitter do not know the river conditions or they did not tell us the truth. So unfortunate. Needless to say, we did not show up the next morning bright and early to rent anything. I felt like I dodged a $100 bullet of frustration by not renting from these people. And I would not recommend wild bills outfitter for river conditions, information, go look for yourself.
