The fried zucchini were prepared in a manner that we haven't seen before - long, flat pieces. Excellent! My wife had the Sloppy Joe - and she couldn't have been more pleased. Seasoned to perfection. I opted for a Wedge Salad, which was another item prepared in a way I hadn't seen before either - it wasn't a big rock-like salad, it was sliced and laid sideways. Perfect. and with lots of bacon! We came here with my husband on a Sunday night, and it was pretty quiet when we arrived. There were plenty of open tables, with only a few other people dining, so it felt very relaxed. Our server was super sweet and friendly! She was so easy to talk to, and I really enjoyed chatting with her throughout our meal. I ordered the cavatappi ragu, and the flavor was really good. Unfortunately, it was a little too salty for me, so I could only eat a couple of bites. My husband helped me finish a few more bites, and I ended up taking the rest home. The portion was huge, so I mixed it with some extra pasta and a little water when I reheated it, and it tasted much better! My husband ordered the burger and really enjoyed it. He had no complaints and finished his entire meal! The portions are definitely generous and could easily be enough for two people, especially if you're not big eaters. Of the many options I went with the meatballs and let me say these were some of the best meatballs I've had in a very long time the flavor was outstanding mixed with the yummy marinara sauce that I'd scoop up with that delicious cheese bread that it came with like you totally couldn't go wrong as a good meatball at a place that isn't an Italian restaurant really is a rarity! Nothing special. I'll never go back. Parking was a pain, but the restaurant is cute. I had high hopes when we arrived. The timing of how the meal is fired needs to be updated. The soup and entree came out at the same time and dessert came out before we were finished with our soup. Seriously, didn't anyone think that was odd when they were dropping the food off. The restaurant was half empty, so it wasn't like they were too busy to notice. The seafood chowder was seriously under seasoned and bland. The fish and chips was double salted. The fish tasted like salty chicken batter and the fries were limp, undercooked, under seasoned, and bland. The creme brulee was wimpy and tasted premade. Even the bruleed crust was cold. The service was not very attentive and didn't realize that we didn't get utensils for dessert for ten minutes, which was ok since we weren't ready to eat it anyway. But a refill of water or some sort of liquid would have been nice. It would have helped us choke down the salty fish. My wife and I came here with friends for lunch. Hadn't been for a while. Parking is tight and had to park across alley by Scotty's Pub. It was busy inside but got seated right away by our waitress Mariikah. We ordered a Peach Ice Tea for my wife and i ordered a Heidelberg beer on tap. My wife always loved the Seafood Chowder so she ordered it and a side of bread. I tried the Hatch Chili Burger with fries. Our friends also got the Chili Burgers and a side of Fire Grilled Artichoke. Drinks came about five minutes later, and food about fifteen minutes later. My wife said the Seafood Chowder was great, just like she remembered. My fries were cold and the bun on my burger was soggy and thin. I was starved so I ate both, and they were OK, but I was disappointed in the soggy bun burger. We shared a Brownie Waffle with Ice Cream, and also ordered a Thai Noodle Salad with Chicken to go. I also had another Heidelberg beer. Had a good time with our friends and service was ok. I was shocked to find out that my two draft Heidelberg beers were $17.98, $8.99 per beer. I thought they would be $5 or $6 each, but I should have asked first. I won't make that mistake again. Great food, lively atmosphere, and thoughtful service! ​My husband and I had dinner at Crockett's Public House in Puyallup. There was a car cruising event in town that day (mostly featuring classic and modified cars), so the restaurant was quite busy. However, we lucked out and got seated near the bar area without any wait. ​We ordered the Thick-cut B.L.T. and the Fire-grilled Artichoke. I was so impressed when they brought out the sandwich already split into two separate plates for us--such a thoughtful touch! True to its name, the sandwich was packed with plenty of thick, delicious bacon. The grilled artichoke had a wonderful smoky flavor and tasted amazing, though the portion of the actual artichoke heart/flesh was a little small. Still, the flavor completely made up for it! ​Our waitress was cheerful, friendly, and very attentive. I was disappointed . My friend was disappointed. So, you may be surprised to know, despite these things, I do recommend. It's worth going to. It may have been an off day for the kitchen staff. I will give them a second chance at some point. Ambience is really comfortable and easy. I liked it. I highly recommend trying the grilled artichoke. Hell, I'd go back for that alone. We caught the next flight and visited The food on television looked so amazing, we had to visit! (Actually, we were in town visiting friends). We arrived at Crockett's and were greeted by the waitress who seated us immediately. Walking in, I saw the bar was well stocked with a fine selection of spirits. There is a selection.of craft beer and an old "bathtub" full of domestic beer selections. We ordered the Bloody Mary as our first drink which on the menu said it was also an appetizer. No lie, it was. Tall with cheese, salami, and marinated vegetables, and spicy! We ordered the two of the items that were on the show, which were listed in the menu as such. The meatballs and the fire roasted artichoke. Both dishes did not disappoint. They were flavorful and filling. So filling in fact, we didn't order anything else. First off, not their fault, but the parking is a nightmare, very limited in an alley and a small lot out back. We arrived, with a reservation, and were seated at an adhoc combination of a rectangular and a round table after about a 10 min wait, not optimum. The waitress stopped by and took drink orders. We started with Calamari, Meatballs, and Wings. The apps were good, but the portion on the Calamari was pitiful, about half what you would expect at that price. From there we went with entrees; Green Chili Burger, Bacon Burger, Thick BLT, 2 x Cavatappi Ragu, a bowl of Chowder, and kids' meals. The BLT was excellent, a lot of bacon. The other food was good, but nothing special, and a bit pricey. The service added another star, it was outstanding. The waitress was prompt, friendly, and professional. This place has gone down hill. I understand inflation and we're all dealing with it. My problem with this place is they shrink the burger and upcharge $25. That's ridiculous. A$25 burger should have a decent beef patty and some quality ingredients. The fried chicken sandwich wasn't any better. Burnt breading. Small chicken fillet and it fell apart. I've been here several times and other items have been ok. No major complaints. Today was horrible. Kinda should've just left because it was all pear shaped from there. We got sat at a dirty table, the menu was thrown at us, no welcome and an attitude that could kill a business fast. Server didn't show up for 15min and hostess walked past three times and never asked if we had been seen by the server. When they finally showed up it was like we just got there. Like they were never told "hey you got guests at table 12!" Nope clueless. We ordered appetizers and our meals. What a mistake. I think you fire the appetizers first then when the appetizers are out and customers have started you then fire the main meals. Wow! What a concept right. Not here they fired everything, meaning all the food arrived at the same time. Wait appetizers are just that appetizers before the main meal. We ate and when asked how about dessert from an absentee server and we both said "NO" in unison. We couldn't get out of the restaurant fast enough. Crockett's offers a full bar. Breakfast menu lists unique meal options as well as standard breakfast fare. During our visit, we sat in the bar. While looking over the menu I sipped on a Farm Stand Bloody Mary for $16.99: garnished with a dill pickle spear, pickled green beans, pickled carrots, pepperoncini, pepper jack cheese, summer sausage and a pimento stuffed green olive. My girlfriend slurped on a 7 Seas pint for $8.99. My girlfriend ordered the Chicken Biscuit w/o egg for $17.99: buttermilk fried chicken breast on a house-made biscuit topped with pea sprouts and maple mustard aioli. Served with sausage gravy on the side. She chose the Fruit Cup as her side. I ordered the Chorizo and Lime Crema Taco for $13.99: scrambled eggs, pepper jack cheese, chipotle aioli, avocado, and shallots on a flour tortilla. I chose the Cheddar Grits as my side. The taco was tasty. I didn't care for the grits. The grits were super thick, lukewarm and bland. I ended up wasting the grits. Staff was welcoming and energetic. Charming spot. Easily one of the best whiskey walls I've seen in the area with tons of curated bottles and bartenders who actually know their stuff. Honestly the quality of this place has majorly declined since my last visit. Tables were sticky, front of the restaurant had empty dirty cups with flies just flying around, and place felt muggy. I even overheard another party walk out muttering among themselves with one line clear saying, "so I wasnt the only one that thought about that here". For a starter, we ordered their house cut fries. Super soft and not crispy at all. Well, some pieces were. I ordered the chicken & waffles and it was $28! Although reasonable due to the fact you get 3 huge crispy chicken pieces. Waffles were very soft though. My husband ordered the fried chicken sandwich. Chicken was okay. It was over-crisped, burnt. Decent size. The chips that came with it were stale. We were the first one in the door on a Friday. We decided to have lunch before we head onto the Washington state Fair. On a recommendation we went to Crockett's. I ordered a chicken taco and the hubby ordered the Memphis barbecue burger. The chicken that was used in the chicken taco was pre-cooked and then reheated or should I say blackened on the grill, so it came out a bit dry. It had a good chipotle like mayo sauce on it and dried out wedges of limes. The limes looked like it was from the night before. Half of the plate was with covered with french fries. The Memphis barbecue burger the cook forgot to put the bacon in it. It's was corrected. Nice thick cut crispy bacon, also precook before the order. Great service, nice wait person. Oh by the way, the restaurant doesn't have breakfast on the week day only the weekends, was hoping for a three egg omelette, oh well.
