If you've been to Paris, then these croissants can't really compare, but they are their own animal, less buttery and heavier than their Parisian cousins, Alfredo's croissants have a heft that makes them seem more like a meal. With a wide range of fillings, some better than others, it's a self-serve kind of place.
When you enter, pick up one of the large circular metal serving plates and some tongs, then hit the racks. The ham and cheese seemed a bit pre-chewed to me, but it was still tasty.
There is also a side to Alfredo's that covers your thirst, with all sorts of smoothies and juices available to help wash down your croissants. It's an easy in, easy out store and is located just off the Plaza de Liberacion in the heart of Guadalajara's historical center.
But now that I think of it, I don't believe they offered a plain croissant, not to worry they have lots of flavours and one that will surely hit the spot for most eaters. The croissants are made on the premises throughout the day, so you're never very far from a fresh Alfredo croissant. read more
