My pup used to come home exhausted and happy after a full day of play but then was coming home anxious and with gi issues because she was crated for sometimes 3 hours or more at a time. We don't choose daycare for her to be kenneled in a small cage. Many of her favorite 2 legged friends have left and the new staff is not nearly as engaging. We had, for over a year, standing reservations for Monday and Thursday daycare set up (indefinitely,) and all of a sudden our reservations are gone and they have no availability for 3 weeks. I was told it must have been a "computer glitch" which frankly was the final straw. I strongly suspect it is due to the fact I have been vocal on more than one occasion about the extended crate times and short play times. I give 2 stars because if you're looking to board your dog, Canine to five will meet your needs. If you're looking for your dog to come home happily exhausted after playing with their friends, this place no longer comes anywhere close to making that happen. The only exhaustion you're likely to see will be anxiety-induced from being crated for more than half the day.

She was so full of life and was a wonderful part of our family. We took her in to get updates on vaccines. One month later she started to vomit then had diarrhea. in the morning, we noticed she was bleeding rectally. We called as soon as they opened and was told we could bring her in 3 hours later. I questioned the receptionist about waiting and she said the doctor said it was fine. we were getting ready to take her to the ER when Kern vet called back and said to bring her in now. My husband and daughter took her there. the doctor stated she had gastritis, and she needed fluids. she said she should stay there overnight for observation, but they didn't have anyone there that night. so, she sent my husband home with food and gave our girl some fluids. she never said to call back if she got worse or give any other recommendations. A few hours past and she was not any better, so I called the vet to inform them. at that time, they said to take her to the ER in Lansing. I asked what her diagnosis was, and the vet said it was HGE a very deadly virus that needed antibodics and hospitalization. She ended up getting double pneumonia and dying 12 hours later. She could have had a chance of getting better if given the antibodics asap, and hospitalized. The kern vet did not acknowledge any wrongdoing. Even if she would have told us the right diagnosis the first time, we would have taken her right away to the animal hospital. We lost our baby because of the careless act of a vet that we thought we could trust. The vet that treated her never called or apologized for what happened. Don't trust this clinic with your pets. They don't care about anything but the money.

However, they have a great selection of other items. They have marrow bones in the freezer that my dog loves. One thing they don't have is the smoked femur marrow bones. I wish they had those. Having someone we can count on to take care of our baby boy has definitely added more flexibility to the social lives of two working parents!
