I had the Catfish "NORA" which mine consisted of fresh Mississippi Delta catfish, coleslaw, pinto beans and hush puppies. I added a side of Cajun fries. The taste was really good. The fries were more salty than expected but still good for me. Hush puppies tasted great. The staffed (hostess/cashier and waitress) was very friendly. I recommend this place as a good stop from any trip that gets you traveling thru Hardy, AR.

Stopped in for lunch. Quickly seated with a warm welcome. Drinks were brought out quickly & we were asked detailed questions about what we'd like to order. Hubby ordered the 4 piece catfish. He liked the beans & slaw. I only wanted 2 pieces of fish & fries but they don't serve it that way. So I ordered the po boy & only ate the fish/fries. I did taste the French bread that everyone has mentioned & it was fresh & tasty. We're from FL and the catfish was probably the best we've ever had! Beware- the Cajun fries are hot! The only negative I could find is that they have limited sides. Glad we stopped by!

We stopped to eat lunch here as recommended to us while visiting downtown Hardy. It's a cute restaurant with very friendly and efficient staff which really stood out. We walked by the window earlier, and the owner stepped out to greet us and invite us in even! We returned later, to be served by a genuinely friendly lady who helped us order our 4 piece catfish lunch to share with a fried mushroom appetizer, vs the 6 piece. It was plenty, and we were just able to finish every bite. The fried mushrooms were super fresh and super crispy. The catfish were lightly breaded in cornmeal, and were crispy as well, with zero greasiness. The pinto beans were good too, topped with the chopped onions, and the coleslaw was super finely shredded cabbage with a vinegar based dressing. They gave us a couple extra hush puppies too since we were sharing too. How hospitable! It was a great lunch, and I recommend it!

The food was delicious! Impressed by the fact they use Leidenheimer French bread for their Po-Boys.

However, the wise and folks that love to explore, will insist on experiencing what's most important--the food, service and atmosphere. Hands down, this place prepared one of the best tasting and presentable steaks I've ever had! It was seared with perfection, tender and melted in my mouth with flavorful juices. The service was amazing! Services was amazing because they were being themselves and moving with a sense of urgency. They weren't trying to put on "a show of perfection". Constant communication amongst themselves and with customers. That feeling you find in a happy, warm and family oriented place usually called home. No fancy name needed to the restaurant, or corporate owned image that chain restaurants have. Just a restaurant conjoined to a convenience store/gas station, that can easily put to shame big name restaurants. Whomever may read this review of mine, do yourself a beautiful gesture...come indulge and enjoy an epic steak, or even something else off the menu. Oh yeah, and their apple cobbler and strawberry cake are super!

From the moment we arrived, our waitress seemed in no hurry and was forgetful to say the least. It took multiple requests just to get a kids' menu, and our drinks sat empty for nearly 30+minutes. She never cleared our table of bread, salad, or soup plates, so we ended up stacking them on the concrete wall beside us as we finished each course--simply because we couldn't stand the clutter anymore. About 10 minutes before the main course was served, she returned to tell me they had run out of filets and asked what I'd like instead. I switched to a ribeye. Our food finally arrived around 8:30, even though we were seated at 6:45--an hour and forty-five minutes later. During that time, I spoke with Leroy, the owner, more than I did with our waitress the entire evening. To top it off, she added an automatic 20% gratuity for our table of seven--four adults and three children. We're generous tippers, but jt was blatantly obvious she was coasting through the night knowing the tip was guaranteed. When the ribeye finally arrived, it was one of the toughest cuts I've ever been served--full of tendons and gristle, and certainly not worth the $40+ price tag. Honestly, I could have picked up a pack of two better ribeyes at Walmart for the price I paid for the one I didn't even eat tonight. When I mentioned my disappointment with the steak, she seemed unfazed. The only redeeming parts of the evening were the view, a cup of soup, and the vanilla crème brûlée. I made an effort to express my disappointment before leaving with zero effort on her part to engage in a solution. So I tried calling on the way home to speak with someone--no answer. So here we are..... our entire table left disappointed! It was especially embarrassing after I'd talked the place up so much--only to end the night with a $320 bill and a thoroughly underwhelming experience.
