After doing an extensive search on AV companies around New York, we settled on 1 Way Audio Visual. Miguel was the most responsive and most proactive person to provide a timely quote that fit our budget. He was willing to work with the demands of our CEO to integrate with the in-house AV team at the conference venue. The day of the event, his team arrived and setup on-time. During the event, they needed a little more hand-holding than my preferred vendor back home, which is probably standard for AV companies and definitely something I take for granted. I could have been more organized in giving more specific direction about what we expected from the technicians during the program, so that's just a reminder to anyone who reads this review. To my knowledge, 1 Way AV hires contractors to work their gigs instead of having the own in-house crew. Our sound technician was Peter, and he was phenomenal. He stood out above the rest of the staff members in providing professional service to our speakers and staying on top of the schedule provided. I didn't interact too much with the rest of the 1 Way AV crew. After a few hiccups in the beginning of our program and a screen resolution mishap throughout the day, everything operationally was smooth sailing.

Before long we were doing a touring set for Brass Construction, then Slave, Todd Rungrens Ra 1 Tour and Blue Oyster Cults first tour. Then the birth of DISCO and we did the installation of the. biggest disco club of them all Studio 54. After the Studio opened all the original people who started working with Van Allen Rice moved on with their lives and professions. I was so very shocked and surprised when I went to open the Bestek web sight and discovered the it has shut down. I owe my entire professional career to Van Allen Rice, he was my mentor. I returned and showed up on Friday afternoon and after processing the payment, I went around the back where they load your car for you. (Note: They do offer delivery, but I believe your order has to be $400 minimum). Anyways, they loaded me up in under 3 minutes and I was on my way back home. All the chairs were in good condition and I returned them immediately after the weekend, by pulling up to the same door where the men unload it for you. Quick and painless. Reasonably priced. Will def use them again! My only negative would be the hours. They are closed on Weekends and only open until 3pm on weekdays which makes things a little hard to manage.
