It's really the most accepting and positive gym environment I have ever seen. The staff is super friendly and seem to know everyone by name. They run a ton of special health and nutrition programs and have a wide variety of fitness classes. They have all the usual things one would expect to find in a gym: treadmills, elipticals, exercise bikes, and tons of weight machines as well as TV's to watch while you work out. They also offer personal training and have a place to watch your children while you exercise. I was only visiting Lafayette for a month but I absolutely love this place and will join again the next time I am in town for awhile.

I can see having a young guy do 900 stairs but an OIM that's 50 years old is terrible. Half the things that you have to do , you will NEVER have to do offshore. If your heart rate gets to high, you fail and go home. I recommend not sending any employee here. Send them somewhere else . I enjoyed Chanell coaching as she seems to be the only one with any common sense. Again- do not send employees here- out of 15 guys we had 15 bad reviews. Expect to at least be there 3 hours of going up stairs 47 times.

The upstairs area is dedicated to cardio, featuring two stair masters, treadmills, and various other machines. While the stair masters are a bit outdated--one even has a cracked screen so you're unable to see the level--they still get the job done. There's also a stretching area upstairs with weighted balls, TRX straps, and cable machines. I noticed a tanning bed up there as well, though I didn't try it out. Downstairs, they have a spin class room, a childcare area, a merchandise section, and a spot to buy drinks and snacks at very reasonable prices. I trained quads this morning and was impressed with the variety of equipment available. There's a great selection of free weight machines, which are honestly my favorite. I've heard the classes are fantastic, but they're scheduled either early in the morning, around 5 AM and 8:30 AM, or in the evening, which didn't align with my schedule. Overall, this is an excellent gym. It's very clean, and they ensure members re-rack their weights. Wipes are readily available for cleaning equipment after use. If you're into a unique, mom-and-pop-style gym with old-school equipment, this is the place for you. Day passes are $10, and a weekly pass is $25.

I really didn't feel like arguing with a 12-year old girl, so I called the gym and spoke with Jon. Just talking to him on the phone felt inviting, and he said all she needed was a t-shirt and a pair of shorts, so we dropped by. My daughter and my son met some kids in the kids muay Thai class and became pretty fast friends while I sat in the gym watching their lessons. After about a month of just sitting there I decided I should probably be doing something physical. At first I was terrified to join the adult class, but every one of those folks reached out to offer assistance, telling me how to stand, how to hold my hands, how to throw punches, etc., and pretty soon it became a comfortable, regular thing. The conditioning classes are responsible for dropping my heart rate by 20 points and my BP went from 130/95 or so to 120/70. While I haven't lost much weight, I get weekly BMIs done and have lost about 15 pounds of fat while gaining about 15 pounds of muscle. It's a lot of work and sweat, but I love the community and even encourage students in my college classes to give it a whirl. You can't go wrong at Lafayette Strong -- everyone in that community is dedicated to helping themselves and everyone else to get better physically and at life in general. It has been the best adult decision I think I ever made.

Several of them were very rude and showed very little respect for me and my friends. They interrupted me when I spoke or ask a question and generally acted like they had better things to do than answer a question or two. They have a lot of outdoor workout training sessions but it's way too hot for that. Some of them involve running laps--on a busy road. All in all, you pay a lot of money to train at a small facility with a few snarky trainers.

First let's start with the owner/coach Samantha she is an amazing coach who not only invested in herself when she decided to start this journey she had us in mind and she is great at what she does. She is understanding and most of all, she is the epitome of Grace2fitness and I say this because she is not that coach that pushes you because she has something to gain but she pushes you to be the best version that God created.
