I was wanting to incorporate CrossFit into my routine a couple times a week and I'm so glad I…read moredecided to pop in to Eugene CrossFit. Some have mentioned this being a "dated" facility, but I disagree--the equipment is actually in good shape and this gym has all that you would expect at a CrossFit gym. I do believe this is an old converted garage, and I personally love that about it--it adds a no frills feel to the place. The owner, Jeremy, is knowledgeable, laid-back and funny. I think he has set up a unique culture in which you're encouraged to always push and challenge yourself but not beat yourself up or compare to other members. There is a wide range of experience amongst members and really no one cares how much you're lifting. You'll be encouraged to do your best and have fun while doing so. I highly recommend this gym for anyone who is interested in trying out CrossFit. They offer a first session free, or you can pop in to a Saturday class for free to try it out.

Eugene CF offers free drop-in classes on Saturday and we had a blast! The coach (we didn't catch his name) was friendly, helpful, and funny. The group was welcoming and supportive and we felt extremely motivated to crush the WOD. Would definitely go back if we're ever back in Eugene.

It's been almost 2 years since this occurred, but I still think about it every so often. At first,…read moreI didn't want to be "that person" who goes on a rant on the review section, but this review has to do with the impact this particular CrossFit had on many lives. Flashback: March 2019. Covid-19. Most of us afraid. Will our families survive? How will life look during a pandemic? Then news hit. Gyms, entertainment facilities, and restaurants in Oregon to close. At first, I felt this gym was "semi" fair in allowing people to borrow some equipment. I was able to borrow a bar, a kettle, and a few rubber plates. That was nice, but I just can't stop thinking about the fact that they were still charging us the full premium for a percentage of the effort. Two zoom classes offered per day, both during typical 9-5 working hours. Workouts were posted with machines that we didn't have access to, or at least most of us didn't i.e. rowing machines. See, I understand wanting to take care of your family, but at the cost of others? I think about the people who lost their jobs during the pandemic and how you were still drafting 130+ (depending on how many months they signed up for) out of their banking account. In my case it was around $160.00. I was extremely fortunate to have a job during the pandemic, but I don't get how I was paying a large premium for two zoom classes that were during my working hours. The sell point of CrossFit is competing with a group while getting a form of training in a group setting. All of that was removed from the situation and so the cost should have followed, in my personal opinion. If you had decreased the cost to $50-$70, I wouldn't feel so taken aback by the choices made by this facility. A percentage of the work on your part for the full price. Most of us work for our money, and I feel you should have worked for yours, or decreased to alleviate others during a difficult time. I wasn't the only one plagued by these actions, others with whom I came into contact with felt the same way. I just want others to think twice before they choose this CrossFit. I would have happily supported your survival by paying $50-$70, just to keep your dream of having a gym alive, but because of the actions taken during a critical time in so many lives, I could never support this business or this business owner, Andrew, again. I encourage anyone taking the time to read this review to choose a different branch of CrossFit and to not support CrossFit Intensify. -Taylor

This is my 5th crossfit gym since Jan 2017 and I can't say it's my favorite yet because I love and…read moremiss my home gym so much, but Intensify is a close second on the list. The coaches here care about what is going on for you and don't hesitate to jump in or give you some space, they are very receptive to your vibe. This is important because you're going to have days on struggle bus or cruise control and others where you're ready to work harder or improve a skill. Some coaches struggle to empathize enough to see when it's time to make their move, and sometimes they kind of give up on coaching you individually and go through the motions of managing the class, but this is not my experience at Intensify. If you feel intimidated by CrossFit, you're not alone and those feelings totally make sense. It is very much worth giving this a shot for a couple of months. You're not going to do crazy crap like you see on CrossFit YouTube channels. A lot of the members here are older, in their 50's and 60's+. A lot of us are also in our 20's and 30's. You may be astounded by how much progress you make and realize it's not that scary once it becomes normal. Who knows, some day you may end up being one of those 70 or 80-somethings who can do pull ups without a tension band around your feet. They exist, and they're pretty happy.

Living on the west side of town, I found options, but they just weren't "home" until CrossFit Intensify - West opened. The moment I walked in and was greeted by Coach Colin, I just knew this was the place to be. It has been humbling coming back to CrossFit after being out for almost a year and a half, but CrossFit Intensify has made me feel like I can do it and has given me that push that I need. Truly amazing coaching and people. I'm very lucky to call this box my home.
