This place is a nice size Planet Fitness with a ton of cardiovascular equipment. I am here at 7 o'clock in the morning and it might be 10% occupied. All four Smith racks were wide open. Very clean location in the music isn't loud as stated in other reviews. It's nice to be a Black card member and able to use the Planet Fitness is along the East Coast during my travels. The only negative is this location has not received the refresh so the cardiovascular equipment is the old versions and some of the new freeway equipment has not been installed

I read reviews of Furion and knew this was the place to be. It took a lot for me to build up the courage to go to that first class 2 months ago, but I am so happy that I did! As soon as I walked through the doors, I was greeted with a huge smile from the coaches, and the members! Somehow seeing people be that happy during a workout eased my anxieties pretty quickly! I immediately felt welcomed! The coaches are so patient, and will teach you everything you need to know as you go, with words of encouragement every step of the way. One thing that has really stood out to me is how the coaches help you get past mental blocks you might have by simply just believing in you! My first time doing deadlifts I didn't think I'd be able to lift even 50 pounds. But the coach was very confident I could do more, so I kept putting more and more weight on, until I was deadlifting my body weight. I never would've had the confidence in myself to ever attempt that, so it was a very eye opening experience for me. Although they push you to be better at every workout, they will never put pressure on you for anything! It's all about positivity and building on your last workout. This place is for anyone at any skill level, and it is truly a judgment free zone. The people here treat you like family, which I think is very unique in a gym. So here we go - my pros and cons Pros - Friendly and welcoming owner Mel greeted me and chatted while we waited for the class to begin. He is a very nice man and even made me laugh a few times. Plus for not having that 'gym machismo' factor. Pro - This workout is intense - I'm pretty fit, but I got my butt handed to me so much so that the next day I went out and purchased a fitbit heart rate monitor so I can see how close to cardiac arrest I am should I ever go back. Pro - This is a total body workout - strength, cardio, balance, they hit all the zones. Pro - First three classes are free - that is very generous, most places offer your first class and then you're on your own. Cons - There was no stretch what so ever. The class ended and everyone just left. I was kinda left there looking around like "is this it?" Mel said I was more than welcome to stay and stretch if I like, but they dont do it. I felt kinda odd since other's were coming in and so I just left. Cons - I am a person who need a class card. I travel a lot and so I purchase class cards so that I can use them when I'm in the area. This is the type of place that you need to buy a membership. I don't live in the area, but would love to work out here if I'm working in this part of Jersey. Cons - I hate putting this down as a con, but here goes. When this class was taking place we were just told to which exercises to do, there was no demonstration. I know what almost all of the names of things are but even so, there were two or three things that I wasn't sure what they were and I had to look at my fellow exercisers to see what they were doing. It would have been good to see something demonstrated or to have received some correction and adjustment to prevent injury. I would be back if they sold class cards and used something like #MindBodyOnline so I could see their schedule and book classes - but that is only if they sold class cards. If you are very very new to working out, you may find this to be an intensely challenging class.

The pandemic stopped my progress for a while, but was able to resume sessions over the summer with all the COVID-19 safeguards in place. My trainers have developed a program to target my problem issues and they keep it varied and challenging. Best workout ever and I am in the best shape I've been in since having children (they are all grown up with kids of their own). He designs workouts specific to me, and adjusts accordingly to my abilities. I have been going for about a month now, and can honestly say I feel stronger, and more capable and educated to do workouts in between on my own. I think that's a big part of what sets him apart- he genuinely wants to see me have results- even providing me circuits to do in between sessions with him. He always makes sure to correct my form, and helps me learn the proper way to execute exercises, while pushing me further than I'm able to do on my own. Let me start by saying Bristol and his wife Kenyatta have changed my life. I was at a point in my…read morelife where I had gained an unhealthy 50 pounds, every fad diet I tried was no longer working for me and I couldn't motivate myself to get through tougher workouts. I found them on Yelp and was directed to there website where I was able to fill out a form to request more info. Bristol contacted me right away and we scheduled my free in-person consultation for the next day. When we met at the gym, he showed me around, walked me through his fitness/nutrition plans and then had me complete a functional movement screening test to gauge my fitness level. Because I liked the vibe of the gym, I signed up for a 3 month, 3x a week 30-minute 1-1 training program that came with customized bi-weekly meal plans (really great, easy recipes btw). In October, my first month, following the meal plan and working out with Kenyatta 3x a week I lost 12.04 pounds and 9 inches around my body! In November I lost 10 pounds and 8 inches around body. In December, my last month of the program, I lost 9 pounds and 7 inches around body. It still shocks me how month after month, even through Thanksgiving and Christmas "off days", I still saw such a huge transformation in the way I look but most importantly the way I feel about myself. I still workout 3x a week with Kenyatta because I love there programs so much; it has been 6 months in total at BBB and I still see my body transforming every week. I'm stronger, I no longer run out of breath going up the stairs, i'm down pant/dress and generic sizes in clothes. Grateful is an understatement! I also want to mention bc of Covid-19 concerns, BBB launched online workouts using Zoom Video so there are no excuses to delay your fitness goals.
