I didn't grow up with religion, but as I've gotten older and especially since becoming a mom, I've felt a growing curiosity and desire to better understand it. Over the course of a couple years, I visited various churches hoping to find one where I felt truly welcome, where the people were real and authentic, and where the message resonated in a meaningful, modern way. After attending several services, I often left feeling disheartened. Too often, the messaging felt either exclusive or outdated, and I started to lose hope that a "unicorn" church even existed. I wanted a place that felt right, where the teachings of Jesus were brought into the present day and applied to the issues we're actually facing in the world. Then, in January 2025, I visited Crosspoint for the first time and knew immediately that I had found that place. What initially drew me in were the values listed on their website. What's kept me coming back week after week is the warmth, the community, and the incredibly thoughtful, inclusive messaging. Ironically, it was some of the negative reviews that intrigued me enough to check it out. You could feel the close-mindedness in many of those one-star comments, which only made me more curious to see for myself. I've since brought my daughters, and they've loved being a part of the youth groups, making new friends, and growing comfortable with Christianity in a way I never experienced growing up. They're learning life lessons about kindness, inclusivity, standing up for what's right, and embracing curiosity--things I deeply value as a parent. Our family has been attending this church for several years now. You really want to like it, but there was always a sense of something not quite right. We are a multicultural, spiritual family. In the beginning, everything seemed wonderful. People seemed welcoming and open and kind. I think they try really hard to be "welcoming to everyone", but unfortunately, there is definitely a distinct liberal or progressive undercurrent. We were looking for a church, that truly was a welcoming place for everyone, regardless of political views or religious background. I'm not necessarily a huge fan of Catholic churches, in which I was raised, because of the undercurrent of disdain for "sinners". Unfortunately, I feel this church falls into the same trap and is guilty of the same judgment just in the opposing sense. There are frequent and consistent snipes or comments or jabs, at the stupidity of certain demographics and individuals with certain political leanings during sermons. During the most recent sermon, Jeff, a pastor who doesn't even live in North Carolina, vowed to "get political". He stated " know a lot of you are getting uncomfortable and squirming your seats right now". He lamented about gun school violence, and how troubling it was that a woman was denied what he termed "reproductive healthcare"; which seems to be an attempt to use language to normalize abortion procedures. Jeff made further euphemisms towards the Republican candidates up for election in the state of North Carolina, and termed this presidential election, the most consequential in the history of our nation, parroting the echo chamber of leftist and mainstream media that has been pounding this drum for the last four years or more. read more

Full flavored, well balanced with incredible legs. Please show up with a fresh palate, thirst, and hunger. I especially enjoy friendly staff, chef Steve and proprietor Jonathan. So I am giving 2-stars based on Yelp's actual definition of a 2-star rating: "Meh. I've experienced better." And that's exactly how I felt walking in and out of the church for five times total. Some might say that's too early to tell. Some might agree with me that certain early signs say it all. 1/ Kids ministry has strict rule of door closure 10 min passed the hour. I agree with this rule except I've been told twice that I am late when my Verizon iPhone says it's 8 min passed the hour. While I wholeheartedly appreciate the principle behind it, a church that's focused more on rules than grace seems a bit different than the faith I am used to. I wonder why they don't preach not to do anything laborous on Sunday if they are THAT strict about the rules... Oh well.. 2/ The way the kids ministry staff informed me that I was late was the same way my parents were reprimanding me for coming home late. If the lady wanted to tell me the rules and remind me how their protocol works, fine with me - she's doing her job. But the moment she talks to me with an attitude is where I drew the line - this church isn't for me... it's for people who are ok with their staff talking down on the attendees. 3/ Hey, non-Caucasian folks... listen to me well, while this church is not racist, they do have hard time welcoming non-white folks. Funny I always have to say "hi" first to the greeters when I first walk in through the front door while they watch me and observe to see if I speak English at all... it's sad, really... Beside the aforementioned, I do think the church has its own merit. Two great preachers. Decent worship musicians. Above average production team. I would disagree with many other reviewers who described the church as "incredible." Obviously, they have not been to Hillsong church in Sydney, City Church in Seattle, Passion Church in Atlanta, and so on. If you have no problem arriving at church on time, the kids ministry itself is by far the best we've seen around RDU area - better by a leap than other multi-service or multi-campus churches around the area. If it weren't for the Kids ministry staff who is unkind, I would give the church a 3.5 stars. Word to Crosspointe: Please consider training your kids ministry staff by the registration computers. read more

My wife and I are senior pastors in Alabama-we visited and enjoyed the Bible Message.

Before moving to Cary from Atlanta about 5 years ago, my wife researched churches on-line to see which one we may like, and this one grabbed her attention. We attended a service our first Sunday after monving, and have continued to attend ever since. The church services are a non-denominational style, with about 15-20 minutes at the start for music, and the remaining time dedicated to the sermon. If you have never been to one of these non-denominational style churches before, the music is more modern style with drums, guitars, etc. Also, you can dress very casual if you like (jeans & t-shirt). I grew up going to Methodist / Baptist churches, so this casual style was hard for me to get used to at first, but once you do, it really makes going to church more about the message than everything else. If you are unsure as to whether you might want ot attend, you can listen to a podcast of the sermons first. Indeed, I have several friends and family that live out of state, but they listen to the podcasts remotely because they enjoy them so much. As an FYI, there are two pastors, so the message styles can change from week to week. We both loved the sermons when we first started attending, but what really kept us coming back was how much our kids loved the kids ministry. These services are run in a manner more geared towards children (fun music, dancing, skits to deliver the message, small groups, etc). After 5 years of attending, our kids are starting to volunteer at the church, which is something you really love to see as a parent. read more

Amazing church and so happy to be attending. Not sure about the other negative experience of course it will not be like passion or hillsong those are million dollar productions. We just moved to the area and tried out Crosspointe church 2 weeks ago. We decided to come again today. We tried to come to the 10am but the parking lot was too full. So we decided to come back for the 11:45. Well we arrived at 12pm on the dot, we knew we were late but our kids had to eat lunch or they would have been a mess in service. We walked in and some ladies were sitting on the stairs just staring at us. No hello, no hi welcome to church, just staring at us. Then we tried to use the computer to check our kids in. They were off. One of the ladies came over and said they "close" kids care 10 min after service starts because it is "way too disruptive" for kids to join late. I thought she was kidding but sadly she was not. She said she could possibly try to get our 2.5 yo a coloring book and we could sit in the back of the auditorium. We declined and said we would just leave. She said ok. Then our 2.5 yo cried screaming "I want to go to my new church! Please mom! Let me go to church." The lady went back to the other group of ladies sitting on the stairs and stared at us as we carried both kids out. Wow. What a horrible experience. First of all people run late, especially with kids so to say if you are 10 minutes late you can't drop of your kids is insane. If you do have that policy why don't you have a family room so the bad people aka late attenders have somewhere to go with their children. Needless to say we will never be attending crosspoint church again. We felt unwelcome, we felt like we were being lectured for arriving late, we felt completely "cast aside" at a supposedly great church. we are brand new to NC and really wanted to join a great church and get plugged in right away but that will not be happening at Crosspointe church. read more

Not sure what reviewer M. F.'s experience was, but we've never had issues like that with our 4-5 years of attending here. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Yes, if you are late and the rooms for your age group are full, you can't drop off your kids. It's a NC state law saying the ratio of staff to kids has to be at a certain ratio. You can always take your kids with you into service. They usually have a bag of goodies you can give your kids to keep them busy. Yes, they "lock down" the rooms, not so you can't visit but so no one goes in or out that might take your kids if they found the sticker you lost. It's all about the kids' safety. Besides, you're at church not to visit your kids half way through service but to listen to the pastors give their great messages. Your walking around is a disruption to others in the service as well as to all the kids during the kids program, not just your kids. The 10:30 service is always the busiest. Try another hour for better parking, better kid to adult ratios, and a great service. read more

Incredible church. I don't live in the area, but my whole family does, and we started coming here every time I'm in town because of how much I love it. The messages have a lot of depth to them. I have been able to hear messages from both pastors (I think there's only 2), and they both do a great job at getting their message across. I find this church to be great for both young and old. The worship is upbeat and contemporary-- very much my style. They seem to have great children's and middle school programs too. 3 services are offered on Sunday, the most popular being their 10:30 service. Make sure to GET THEIR EARLY if you want to find a seat that's not in the overflow area. There are always ushers to help you find a seat as well. A complimentary coffee/tea/hot chocolate/juice bar is also available before and after the service. This is a really nice touch. A great place to gather with friends before and after the service. I prefer to wait a while after the service to leave so I'm not stuck in the parking lot line trying to get out. There are traffic directors to make the experience offer, and that's very much appreciated. Love this place! read more

Crosspointe Church cares about the neighborhood! West Cary needed a YMCA and Crosspointe Church needed to expand their auditorium and class room space. As the Town of Cary board said it ....."this church gets it." In the past, churches created what the community needs. This church loves to give back to food pantries, volunteer for community services, and much more. The YMCA will even have an after school program for high school students which is much needed in West Cary. Crosspointe Church also a several kids, youth and young adult programs. read more

Lawyer/Physician Parents: I wish ANY parent had posted a review 4 me 2 read BEFORE we visited with our child. 1st Visit: We arrived 15 minutes before the time listed online. We were snappily told Sunday school was full & that our child was not allowed 2 attend by an automatically defensive beyond abrasive preschool check-in staffer who told us we had 2 leave. As we were leaving, a man informed me that there was a 2nd Sunday school @ noon. We decided 2 shrug off the staffer & returned @ noon. Half way thru the big service, I went 2 check on our child 2 see how Sunday school was going. A staffer informed me I was not allowed 2 check 2 see how MY child was doing, stating that they were in lock-down. Alarmed, I asked what had happened. I was told their rule is parents have no access 2 their kids until Sunday school is done. I told the staffer I would need 2 take my child home now if I was 2 be denied access 2 lay eyes on him when no non-custodial party can lawfully deny parents access 2 their children. I granted no church party any right of temporary irrevocable custody. I will say, this church rule left me uneasy since it not only violated my parental rights, but seemed like they might want 2 hide something going on from parents since I had a card with an assigned (I think permenant) parental number on it that could be checked on case they were worried I was some childless stranger. I was "allowed" 2 look in the window 2 see that my child was okay, so I went back 2 the big service (feeling violated as a parent, but at least assured my little one was not harmed or upset). 2nd Visit: We thought better to arrive 11 minutes late than not at all. According to church rules, not so. I got a call from my spouse saying classes were closed as I was parking. I met my spouse inside & said I would just run & ask the Sunday school teacher if they were really too full 2 let our child attend since we'd gone 2 so much work 2 get there. She said the class was not full, asked 4 my child's name, said she'd look our child's name up if she needed us, & then welcomed our little one 2 class. Nothing organized was going on yet 2 interrupt. As we headed 2 the big service, my spouse got the chance 2 tell me a lobby staffer had just said it was 11 minutes after noon, & that she would not check our child in, citing that it would be disruptive 2 the other kids. I had no idea that this was a rules over ministry kind of place, such that if a family arrived late, they barred them from entry (& barred them from what I now gather is a mandatory computer check-in EACH time by shutting down computers such that no one can check-in if late, even with the parent-child # card from initial registration) & even if the Sunday school class is not full. I thought, well, our child is in there now, knowing it would be a crying disruptive matter 2 force our child 2 leave at that point since "disruption" of any kind (even welcoming a late comer 2 learn more about God) was specifically what my spouse was told by the lobby Pre-school "war lord" that they did not want. The lobby war lord ran up 2 us with a hostile look as we were going in 2 the big service. She yelled @ us stating we had just slapped her & all the other volunteers in the face by ASKING the Sunday school teacher if our child could go 2 Sunday school. I would not have asked had I known better, or known 2 have asked my spouse 4 more info before asking, but being new with nobody writing these rules down or explaining them, & then rushing 2 publicly yell & be hateful when I committed a mistake...I was furious 2 be treated like a dog 2 kick. After church, yet a different Pre-school staffer griped us out (again) right in front of all the Sunday class parents. I told the woman it was unnecessary, that we got it, & could we please leave with our child who was crying & saying a lady came in to be mean 2 him (the 1st Pre-school lobby staffer who yelled @ us stormed off & went 2 my child's class 2 yell @ the Sunday school teacher 4 letting our child come late). My child also pointed 2 a red mark on an arm & said an adult pulled it & it hurt. Since church today, my child has said God's house & God do not like my precious little one, my child does not know what was done wrong, & my child is angry. Jesus loves our child. It hurt 2 hear my child's perception is now that God does not even like, much less love my little one. We will not be going back. Does not appear 2 be child or faith friendly. Being away from our home state, it was hard us 2 be publicly humiliated & berrated, 4 not knowing the rules, which at this church, have more weight than Jesus himself saying, "Let the little children come 2 me." While not an eloguent briefing, at least I took time 2 spare other unwanted new comers from horrendous treatment by chosen church staff. I read reviews before attending. Had I been warned, I'd never have exposed my child 2 such a falsified impression of God & "God's house." read more

My husband and I have been attending Crosspointe for 2 1/2 years and we love it! We actually moved 45 minutes away and after trying several churches in our area, we decided to stay at Crosspointe. The music is wonderful and my husband and I walk away from each message feeling that it was exactly what we needed that week. There is nothing pretentious about this church or its staff. The message they put forth is simply that God loves us and is inviting us into his kingdom. We were so relieved to stumble upon this church after many of the churches we had tried in the area were preaching a "repent or die" message. What a refreshing way to learn about Christ and his love for us. There is a huge emphasis on loving your neighbor and Crosspinte truly puts their money where their mouth is through their extensive work with the Durham Rescue Mission. The messages are practical, easy to understand, and allows us to see how scripture can be applied in our daily lives. I want to address one of comments that someone posted on here (M.F) regarding Sunday school for the younger children: We have two children (a 3 year old and one under 6 months) and have arrived late to church once or twice before. We were told that we could not send our son back to his classroom due to our tardiness. The staff apologized and explained that this is a newly enforced policy in order to ensure the children are not disrupted during their lesson as well as provide safety so that no one can just walk back into the children's area. They gave us a "fun bag" with pages to color and crayons for our son. We sat in the lobby and watched the service on the flat screens while my son played. There is also a mother's lounge, which is a small room located through the doors of the women's bathroom, where the service is also shown and there are toys for the little ones. For Sunday school, they do assign each child a number and parents are made aware if a child is scared, crying, or would like to see their parent. The Sunday school staff is so kind and patient. Our son started going there when he was one year of age. He had never been watched by a stranger before and had a really difficult time at first. He would cry and would we would be called back to his classroom every Sunday. They stuck with him, and within six months he began to get excited about playing at church. Now he talks about Sunday school and what he learned/did each week. I am terribly sorry that a parent had a poor experience at our church. I can completely sympathize with your frustration that as a new visitor, you were told that your child could not be in Sunday school due to being late or over-crowding. I know that they are desperate for volunteers to teach Sunday school so that they can include more children. I hope that you will give our church another chance, but understand if your experience would prevent you from doing so. read more
