It's truly been a blessing to witness the growth of the church & meet new faces. I come from a very large church in CA, so when the pastor greets me by my first name, I am blown away every time. Thank you, Henry!

My wife and I started attending this church in December of last year, right after we had moved to…read moreIdaho. After trying a couple different churches, we settled on Ten Mile Christian Church. We loved the deeply well-thought and theological sermons, as well as the charisma and sense of humor of Pastor Henry. We also appreciated that they didn't come on too strong when it came to getting connected, as this had been a problem at a previous church we had tried to attend. We have enjoyed our time at TMC, and we both have participated in various ministries. However, there are a couple problems that are unfortunately leading us to find a new home church. For one, while all of the sermons preach on internal transformation, there are a lot of topics that we believe still need to be discussed in the church that TMC doesn't touch on. These include topics like homosexuality, politics, abortion, etc. Obviously, these are the more "controversial" topics in Christianity, which we feel is the reason why TMC doesn't touch on these. TMC is a very large church that obviously takes their business and outreach side very seriously. The only time we've heard Pastor Henry touch on any of these was when he brought up LGBTQ+ pastors and all he really had to say on it was something along the lines of "I personally don't agree with it". This is a problem because the Bible very clearly goes against LGBTQ+ pastors. It seems like they sacrifice talking about the controversial things in order to keep the business and outreach side in check, which my wife and I believe is never okay. We believe a church should touch on every biblical topic, both the pretty and the ugly. This really hit us point blank when we saw that they not only celebrate but actively promote halloween, and we're not just talking about "trunk or treat" (which has its own problems in and of itself). They have a "youth halloween party", even using the cross as a halloween decoration on their handout. My wife and I have found that it takes very minimal research to find out that halloween is not something followers of Christ should participate in. That's not to say that every Christian who does celebrate it is going to hell, but to have a whole church taking part in it just feels blatantly wrong, once again, sacrificing God's word and commandments for outreach. Due to these reasons, we are now looking for a new church, one that perhaps treats the Bible more authoritatively. We will always keep TMC in our thoughts and prayers.

What's not so good 1) parking tests humanity, 2) MUSIC IS TOO LOUD!!!. They do offer ear plugs at the welcome center, but they shouldn't need to. Is the music bad so you have to crank up the sound to overcome mistakes, or what's the deal? My wife's and my ears have been ringing non-stop this past month after we have been there, and the ear plugs don't really work to stop the damage being done to people's hearing. TURN DOWN THE VOLUME PLEASE!!! We are going on three years at Rock Harbor Church in Meridian, and we love this church, but we may have to watch sermons remotely if not fixed! Real stinking people should still know how to work the soundboard. Note, I'll remove my review if we can actually hear people singing in the next few weeks, instead of a wall of sound coming from the organ, drums and midi-guitars. Update 8/09 Well, I didn't think it was possible, but the music has gotten louder, so I really can't recommend if you don't want to need hearing aids sooner than normal. Also notice less people singing and clapping. Wish the worship team would play sets without their monitor ear plugs since they don't seem to know it's out of hand. Love the church, not the rock concert!

Taking off stars because I don't like going to a recorded service because the Pastor is " tired", "…read moreover worked" or whatever reason they give. And removing another star because they don't let you know what service that is in advance.
