Today I got to attend some of my close relative baptisms after the 11:00 service. I was touched by all the raw testimony's shared right before my very eyes, and shed some happy tears for those so moved by faith. It lasted about 1.45 hours. Full submersion baptisms, in a shirt they supplied.
I had been going to this church for about a year pretty regularly with family before I found something more local but similar set up. For me, it was worth the hour drive to come up and attend and visit family for the weekend. I felt nourished, the place where you know you'll get fed, not everything you like but everything you need. There's a great rotation of pastors that speak, my personal favorite is Zach, who also sings on stage, and has a sense of humor when it comes to the gospel that I can appreciate.
When it comes to the stereo typical church that I think comes to most people's minds, this place offers something more approachable? This place is as polished or as casual as you'd like it to be.
The connect cards and low pressure really give a hand in the door, it's actually how I got to meet Mary Graves on a 1:1 who really made me feel seen, and who was very encouraging on my grasp of faith during some tough times.
I love the options of 3 service times, the online crossroads app if you can't attend, the downstairs daycare that allow you to be present during service, and the music they play that you could easily find yourself playing in your car on the way back.
This place is always well kept, complimentary coffee is always well stocked, as well as the donut holes if that's your thing.
I love the follow along bulletins, that you get to fill in the blanks. And the bottom to leave your own thoughts, and action steps at applying what you just learned.
Parking lot is staffed by people who guide you in, but it's big enough to get lost if you tend to forget where you parked (like I tend to do) Now that I think about it, if there was a colored pole by where you parked that would be a great visual.
The greeters who hold open the doors make life, that much easier when your hands are full. It tends to be the same familiar faces who serve in that way.
Overall great atmosphere, feels very inclusive, and still enjoy attending on special occasions. read more
