Snack Box (2 pc. chicken, biscuit, mashed potatoes) - $3.95 + tax
    Jason P.

Oh booooy, this place is slooow. There is 1 cashier to take and serve orders, taking ~10 minutes to serve the 4 people in front of me. I finally made my way to the front and ordered the Snack Box which includes 2 pieces of chicken, a biscuit, and small styrofoam container of mashed potatoes and gravy for $4.30 ($3.95 + tax). Not too shabby. The cashier gets on the microphone and shouts "Snack Box", and slowly turns around to get my order at the preparation table. My boxed food, a plastic spoon, and 6 napkins were placed in a 'I Love New York' and I was on my way. The chicken was what one would expect at a place like this, skin extra crispy and orange-toned in color giving its subtle spice. The meat on the leg was juicy, but the breast meat was slightly dry. Tasty, yet typical for chicken sitting in a glass buffet table for who knows how long. The biscuit was proportionately large in size. Fresh but slightly dry. Some melted butter would have been nice. The mashed potatoes were of the creamy consistency, topped with brown gravy to make it a bit more appetizing. Other random tidbits: - The place was fairly clean especially at all the foot traffic I always see this place getting - There are 8 small tables to sit at - Some interesting specials such as 6 mozzarella sticks for less than $2; Crown Special which includes a chicken sandwich, fries, and 16 oz. soda for $4.60, 6 hot wings for $5 and change. - No public bathrooms

I dunno i like to get some decent pizza and and not have to pay 3.50 a slice in penn station. i usually take an earlier train before my train arrives and get a slice and meat patty. The owners changed a few times but now they are pretty good. you can get a slice for 2 bucks and not bad, or they have a different platters and plates. Chicken and rice gyro... chicken wings etc.. not bad spot i like!

I enjoy my food when I actually taste the food and not the salt so I loved it. Others complained not salty/seasoned enough but it was perfect to me. Chicken had the right amount of crunch and tenderness. The salmon was meaty (not fatty) and seasoned just right. I had the bbq salmon and it was delicioso! The Mac n cheese was a good blend of cheeses and 'cheesy' pull was excellent. Potato salad just right. The service was top notch despite the place being sold out and very busy!! Definitely will return, hopefully on a less busy day and time. Parking could be an issue but we lucked up and got a spot a block away.

The food was flavorful and well-prepared, although some dishes leaned a bit salty for my taste. I ordered the sautéed shrimp and grits. The shrimp were delicious, but I wish the dish came with a larger portion of grits. The gravy was very generous and ended up making the dish a bit soupy, so a little more grits would have helped balance the dish. Other highlights from our table included the fried shrimp and waffles, yams, and mac and cheese, all of which were excellent. Another guest in my party ordered the BBQ salmon and thoroughly enjoyed it as well. The ambiance is casual, comfortable, and inviting, making it a great spot for either a local brunch or a relaxed dinner. The service was attentive and pleasant throughout our visit. We were even greeted by the owner upon arrival, and his friendliness and hospitality immediately made us feel welcome and set a positive tone for the entire experience. Overall, this is a solid neighborhood restaurant with good food, a welcoming atmosphere, and excellent customer service. I'd definitely return to try more items from the menu.

They offer samples on any and everything. This may have been my 4th time eating from here. The food I've had in the past was good. This time the food wasn't as great but it was still decent. The greens were salty and the Mac was bland (the candy yam juice on top made it better). But it was still edible.

Special shoutout to Krystal at the bar--she was doing EVERYTHING. Bartending and serving tables at the same time, and still made sure everyone was taken care of. You can tell she really works hard and keeps the place running smooth. The food... definitely hit the spot. I had the fried chicken with cabbage and also tried the fried fish with fries. Everything was seasoned well, fresh, and came out hot. That fried chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy inside, just how it's supposed to be. The cabbage had great flavor too--not bland at all. The vibe is chill.. I'll definitely be back and would recommend it if you're in Queens and craving some comfort food
