It was fine since we were just there for about 20 minutes. I was on a shuttle bus so we waited to load the boat and then we were able to get off he boat and explore. There were lots of announcements made when we boarded so we knew what was going on the whole time. I did not buy any of the food from there nor did I buy anything from their duty free shop. The facilites were ok for what it was. I did go to the top deck outside to "take in the view" but it was not much to do up there and it was cold. The trip over the channel did not take long and there were plenty of windows to see out of.

I normally take Eurostar between the UK and Paris but I was staying with a friend in Kent. Eurostar no longer stops in Kent so the ferry seemed like a viable option. It was not. They have you show up some two hours before departure at the Port of Dover, so they could shunt me and 20 other people onto a little bus that proceeded to snake it's way back and forth in the cue with all the lorries and private cars. The bus would pull into a customs depot and we'd then line up again. A distance from the entry shack to the ferry was maybe a six minute walk. Instead, I was on this idiotic bus idling in traffic for at least an hour (mind you that's for a 90 minute crossing). The crossing itself was fine and I paid for cabin class. But when we got into Calais the nonsense started again. First we were kicked out of cabin class and all 20+ of us sat in some area of the ship and forced to wait in port while every truck and car drove out. Then finally we were lead down several flights of stairs (with our luggage) back onto the bus. This time we were done with customs. Instead, the bus zoomed across the exit ramps and stopped at some steel and glass building surrounded by nothing by miles of tarmac. We got out and the bus drove off. So where were we? The P&O site says you can walk to Calais Ville in 20 minutes from where they leave you. It also promised a connecting bus to the train station. Not so. We were at least 50 minutes away from the station by foot, with no apparent pavements/walking paths. No Sunday bus service. There was a P&O Employee there who said it wasn't their problem, the city of Calais decided not to provide buses on Sundays. And I responded "What about the damn bus that just dropped us here--the one driving away!? Couldn't it take us some place with connections?" Apparently not. The staff tried to phone us cabs but there were none to be had. No Ubers either (must be geo-fenced). No exaggeration: I was left trying to flag down random cars begging someone to give me a lift to the station so I could continue my journey. It was utterly insane. One family, left without options, started booking ferry passage BACK to England, since there didn't seem any other way out of this Black Mirror/Twilight Zone madness. Finally, an outbound passenger was dropped off by a cab and I ran up to the driver and pleaded with him to take us to Calais. He drove off, but came back 15 minutes later and picked up me and two other people. 15BPS later I finally got to the train station, having wasted some 90 minutes more in that ridiculous P&O trap. Frankly, it was kind of scary standing there with no obvious way out of that building in the middle of nowhere (sorry I don't have a photo, I was just too flustered to think to take one). I don't how a company get's so messed up that they think this is all okay, and not their responsibility because the city stopped running some connecting bus. Of course it's their responsibility to bring people someplace where they can continue their journeys. Or they have to refuse to take foot traffic. I will NEVER step onto another P&O Ferry. Never.

Gary was fantastic and so professional. He met us at the cruse port as soon as we got off the ship. We talked and ask what we wanted to see. He showed us all over Dover in places where bus can't go. He took us to the tops and bottom of the white cliffs. He also took us to the light houses and his favorite pub for lunch. We so much enjoyed ourselves with Gary. We would highly recommend him for any of your tour needs.

After a lot of research, we contacted Horizon, which exceeded all our expectations. Communication was excellent from start to finish: Gary clearly cared about what we wanted to see and do, and after a flurry of emails we decided to book a day tour of Leeds Castle, Canterbury, and Dover Castle. Great decision! From the time he picked us up at our hotel until he dropped us off in the evening, we had a great time. Gary is very thoughtful as well as very knowledgeable about the history and culture of each area we visited. He made sure we were comfortable, stopped as needed, and were well hydrated and fed. He brought each place to life. Unlike other tours, where our primary guide dropped us off at stops where there was a required resident guide or docent, Gary stayed with us, guiding us to the best places to stand and providing extra information where needed. He made sure the tour and sights were at our pace and that we saw everything we hoped to see. Absolutely excellent. Horizon also does airport transfers and collects people from cruise boats for tours. I recommend this company highly; we could not have had a better time.

I was in charge of organising my best friends hen do, as Bridesmiad, and my plans were to go to…read moreLondon for dinner and theatre. I wanted to add to the night by having a fun and comfortable way to travel. When I looked into dozens of limo companies, most were rude, short, over-priced and or inflexible. One in particular had about 3 websites under different names but when I called they were the same company. I thought I had found a good one with A1 Limos until I decided to check their reviews and found some really awful, scary reviews and quickly decided to keep looking. I decided to use a website that would get any limo companies to contact you if they had what you wanted based on what you entered in on the site. Only 2 companies replied. Moonlight and one other. The other had a very weird and rude reply of "You're better off going to Brighton, their drinks don't cost the earth compared to London!" Or something along those lines. I found this out of order and strange, as I was not planning on going to a club or bar where drink prices would need to be an issue and my plans would not be based on drink prices anyways and Brighton was not showing The Bodyguard musical, so this was completely silly. I was not going to suddenly change all my months of planning just because of some random limo company! When Alan at Moonlight replied to me, he was polite and replied quickly. I think I sent out my request quite late in the day and he replied that night via email. He had a can-do attitude, good prices and answered all my questions when I would email him back and forth. I emailed him, called him quite a lot and he never got annoyed by my endless questions. He always replied quickly, politely and was happy with anything I requested. He even sent me pics via email of his new party bus vehicle, as they were not on the website yet, in order to help me to decide on which vehicle to choose. He was never pushy or biased and advised me politely when ever I asked for his opinion. Even though there were not any reviews of Moonlight online, because of Alan's polite and continuous help through correspondence, I had a good feeling about them and so I went with them and I was so glad I did! On the day, there was a massive traffic accident around the area of the pick up point and even though I left home 2 hours earlier than pick up time, it took me all of that 2 hours to make it in from my home to pick up point, when it should have taken me 20 minutes! It was very stressful. Alan called me when I was stuck in traffic and asked if there was any changes I would like to make to the 2nd pick up point because of the traffic, and was really understanding when I said I wanted it to stay the same, even if it meant we would be late, because I wanted to surprise the Bride to be. Alan was on time and I was late and Alan waited about 30 mins I think and when I got to him I apologised and he smiled and said it was fine and was so calm and zen! He carried on with his duties happily and calmly. The bus impressed everyone, it was clean and equipped and really fun. Alan would put the music up or down when asked and offered to stop for us to have a toilet break halfway to London. When we got to London, Alan directed us to where we had to get to and when we were ready to be picked up, I called him and he came to us within a few minutes. He was always smiling, calm and ready at the bus door when we were getting in and out. He was smartly dressed and groomed and very professional. He just seemed to enjoy what he was doing and just quietly went about his duties for us. Everyone in the party said he was lovely. I was so glad I chose Moonlight limos, Alan was just what we needed, secure, calm and efficient. THANK YOU SO MUCH. I could not have asked for better service.
