What I love about Strong Body Yoga and Fitness is the location, the classes offered and the…read moreinstructors. I usually go to the Slow Flow yoga class and I am pretty new to yoga. Sam is always encouraging and she, the instructors and the other participants don't judge you if you are struggling to do a pose (or if you have terrible balance like me and fall all over the place). Every Slow Flow class I've been to is completely different than any other and each one of them is challenging in a different way. I've been to several of these classes with different instructors and they are all amazing and positive people. The Sculpt class is good too; the time doesn't always work for me, but whenever I've attended, it is a great energizing workout and Victoria is a great motivator. I am really glad to have this studio so close to my neighbourhood and to have met such great people there. I like that Sam has offered Beginner Yoga Classes which are especially great for people new to yoga and are intimidated, Sampler Classes (3 different classes in a 90 minute session) and is having a Friday Night Friends night, because I can try out other classes and also bring some friends so they can try it out. I am very pleased she chose to open this studio in Yorktown Square. BF

If all yoga studios were this welcoming and homey, more people would practice yoga. Even though I…read morewas running late and really cutting it close to class time when I arrived, Romano, checking me in at the front desk and then teaching the class, made me feel comfortable immediately and just had a really laid back, relaxed vibe. People already in the class made the ultimate selfless yogi gesture: they moved their mats for me to open up some space. In a lot of studios, the instructor has to practically force people to shift their mats down to make more space, so I was not only grateful for the welcome, but also impressed that Romano's kind energy seemed to spread through to the people taking his class. It had been a while since I'd taken a slow flow class and I forgot how challenging it can be! I loved holding each pose for a long time and really settling in. The cues were clear and easy to follow, with some interesting transitions and movement between the back and front of the mat. I felt both stretched out and zenned out afterward. The studio is warm, cozy, and an overall nice place to hang out and relax. If I lived in the area, this would most definitely be my home away from home.

First time I went yoga. It was pretty tough, but you just work through it. I already had an idea…read morethat I would get really sweaty from doing what seems like not a lot of work. However, I did not expect the amount of sweat that poured out of me. It's a good thing that my friend was beside me for moral support (and sweating just as much). Anyway, the class was in the middle of the day and full of avid yoga-ers and beginners alike. I don't remember the price, but it was not that expensive. The instructor, Gina, was also really helpful, walking around to correct people in their quest for zen.

For the first 15 minutes I was at Moksha, I was happy I chose this yoga studio during my holiday…read morevisit to Windsor. Check-in was smooth and the staff was helpful and friendly. The studio was bustling, but it didn't feel cramped or loud. I loved the spacious locker room area. Most importantly, I felt like I was able to take care of all my pre-class business (changing, filling up my water bottle, setting up props, etc.) efficiently. But once the class started, I was disappointed. I'm used to hot yoga, but this was beyond anything I've experienced before. The instructor actually said after class that she intentionally cranked it up for the holidays. What? I'm sorry, but you can't just haphazardly decide to crank up the heat without telling anyone or advertising it first. Heat aside, the class was pretty basic, but lacked any detailed instructions about the poses or how to get into them deeper. I saw the instructor give a few different adjustments to people--not enough to make me feel like she was really making a difference or paying careful attention to alignment. As a matter of fact, as she passed my husband trying to get into a humble warrior, she said, "Someone's got tight shoulders" and then breezed by. To me, that would have been the perfect opportunity to hand him a strap and show him how it can help open him up and provide more range of motion. Instead, the comment felt like a snippy judgment, a reaction that simply has no place in a yoga studio. I was super excited when the instructor announced that it was time for the "flow" portion of the class since I'm a vinyasa girl. But she roamed the room, without any instruction for specifics or suggestions for safety, and made it feel like a speed competition. I heard her say, so-and-so "for the win!" as she passed a man who was doing chaturangas like there was a gun held to his head. That type of competitiveness just isn't my style when I'm in a yoga class and it left a bad taste in my mouth. I wish I had time to experience a different class with a different instructor. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll come back to this studio.

I really enjoyed the spiritual script reading at the start of the yin class. Overall the studio is very appealing and clean. Classes are always nearly full capacity.
