Crwys Electrics are a local shop and electrical repair business that have been established since 1962. A Cardiff rental property management company I've been a customer of uses this company, and the staff have always come across as very honest and reliable. They do sales of new electrical products such as dishwashers and fridges, and they sell spares and organise repairs of most leading brands of domestic appliances - although they specialise in Statesman, Hoover, Hotpoint, Brandi, Whirlpool, Creda, Electricity, Bendix, Electrolux, Zanussi, Panasonic, Dyson and Goblin. Their washing machine repair initial call out charge, for example, is a very reasonable £20 - and they can often go on to fix the problem there and then because they carry the most frequently used spare parts on their vans. Oh, and if it's hoover bags you're after, they usually have about 210 different types in stock at any one time, including Goblin, Hoover, Electrolux and Panasonic, and many more! read more

Crwys Electrical is a retailer and repairer of electrical goods, unsurprisingly they have an array of electrical items, they also deal in used goods so you may pick up a bargain. If you need a small component they have a good stock, but don't expect to see a large selection of new electrical goods such as you would find at a Curry's, Comet, PCWorld etc. They have better technical knowledge than you will find from a large electrical retailer so if you need a washing machine repaired or any other electrical item, they may be able to help. read more

As I've mentioned in other reviews, Crwys Road is the battleground for a fight between chain retailers and local shops and businesses. On one side you've got Co-op, Boots and Subway fighting for the evil forces of capitalism, and on the other you've got Crwys Pharmacy, Crwys News, Crwys Key Cutters... well, basically any of the shops that have "Crwys" in the name, and they are fighting for the personality that such an eclectic mixture of homegrown shops bring to the area. Crwys Electrical is, as you would have noticed if you have even a modicum of pattern recognition ability, on the side of the eclectic and the homegrown. A bit moreso than most other shops, actually, as Crwys Electrical is part shop, part local repair service to the students of the area. Most of the landlords from the local area use Crwys Electrical as the go-to folks for machine repair, and they do their job well. As befitting the stereotype of student landlords, the appliances in the houses are generally useless creations, half dead from overwork, and Crwys Electrical are the wizards that keep them working. read more

Primarily focused toward the HMO / Landlord sector. However, my family has used them intermittently during the last 25 years for a variety of routine services and spare parts. Always found them to be knowledgeable and honest - they don't waste your money and will always let you know if an item is beyond repair. Recently purchased a "Statesman" washer / dryer which unfortunately it developed a fault within 48 hours. Called the shop at 8am on Monday - immediately agreed to send an engineer who arrived promptly. Fault confirmed - no talk of repair or manufacturer guarantee - without prompting another brand new machine was installed before lunch. Wouldn't get that level of service from a high street retail chain. This is why we need to support independent local traders. read more

These guys gave me a quote for a new drive belt for my tumble dryer 'supplied and fitted' over the phone, then when the job was done, the technician charged me 25% more! Job was done fine, but felt ripped off. 'supplied and fitted' should mean exactly that for the quoted price! read more

Absolute cowboys... They miss appointments with no explanation or apology and when they do turn up they don't carry out the work as promised. After being repeatedly told what was broken on the washing machine they adopted a 'we know best' attitude and refused to stay long enough to check the washing machine was working. I explained that it would complete the first couple of stages of a cycle and would then get stuck their attitude was to start the machine see that it appeared to be working and leave this resulted in them having to be called out on 5 different occasion (2 of which they didn't show up). I have been forced to use these cowboys as i rent my property and my letting agent insists on using them.(i suspect this would change if it was their time they were wasting) IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE AVOID AT ALL COST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more
