We almost didn't stop in the shop because we were hungry, but something told us we should. I am so glad we did! Julie is a hoot; my girlfriend and I love her to death! We learned so many new things from her and she confirmed a few things we had been suspecting. We had a blast with her! It was like talking to an old friend we just hadn't met. We didn't get the privilege of meeting her husband, but we LOVE the pieces he has handcrafted that they have in the shop, and we both left with some gorgeous new things. I am excited to patronize their Etsy shop in the future, but I am grateful that we were able to visit in person and feel the wonderful energy that emanates from these beautiful creations. My friend bought Julie's book, Crystal Messengers, and has hardly put it down since we left. We are so happy we stopped in and best of all, we left there gaining a new friend! read more

The Crystal Seen was a wonderful experience. Just the mountain, alone enjoying the pureness and beauty of Mother Earth seemingly untouched by commercialism, is well worth the price of admission, finding loads of crystals is an added bonus. This was our first dig for crystals; now we are hooked. We really had no idea what to expect other than what we had read before planning our excursion. Julie is phenomenal, a wealth of knowledge, free spirit. She is so knowledgeable and full of wonderful stories. She shared excavating hints and tips, which I truly believe lead us to find really nice crystals for our first time. The mountain is full of quartz just on the surface without digging. After our dig, at the recommendation of Julie, we visited Collier Springs. What a refreshing break from the July heat! The area is truly magical and definitely worth the drive from the Crystal Seen Excavation site. The pure crystal clear waters are cold, refreshing, and healing. Just what we needed after a very hot July dig...the icing on the cake Thank you, Julie, for sharing the pure beauty of Mother Earth. This is an experience that we will never forgot. Super wonderful experience crystal mining here. Came with my boyfriend March 2013 and we met Julie upon arrival. Owners Julie and Dino are amazing and very knowledgeable. Julie is very spiritual and knows a lot about crystals. We went up to the mines and dug up a lot of great quartz points--super clear and at least three inches for our smallest ones. We were first timers, but luckily we had some help at the mine when it came to digging tips. I recommend this digging place to newbies and those who have been quartz digging a while. I didn't have time to dig for my own crystals but they have an array of locally mined crystals for sale. I picked out two crystals and the encased the. In wire wraps to create necklace pendants. I couldn't wait for them to be finished so they were sent to me.. They arrived within a couple days and exceed my expectations, I am very excited to give them as gifts to my little sisters who live far away. They are beautiful! Fairly priced too!!! read more

I have gone crystal digging at least half a dozen times and wanted to try someplace new so that my sister and nephews who were visiting from out of state would have an amazing experience. I chose the Crystal Seen Trading Company mine. On their website, the proprietors claim they have "seeded" the mine and that "with a keen eye and a little work" visitors will have a "treasure hunt adventure" and find quartz, amethyst, garnet, topaz, sapphires, rubies, geodes, fossils, foreign coins, as well as other goodies. Those claims couldn't have been further from the truth. After driving more than 5 miles, 3 of which on poorly graded dirt road, and hiking another half mile on foot into the middle of the woods, we found the so-called mine: A mostly evaporated pond in the center of a digging pit that contained nothing but dried out red clay, quartz gravel, broken crystal remnants, and no sign of any of the other "seeded" treasures described on their services and workshops page (http://dig-your-own-crystals.tripod.com/RATES%20AND%20WORKSHOPS.htm). After the proprietress had taken our money, she spent over half an hour talking our ears off and had us each select a crystal from a basket full of them so that we would "have the same energy as the mine and call the crystals to us." A nice enough (if somewhat New Age flakey) notion on the surface, but if you ask me, she knew we weren't going to find any decent crystals much less anything else on our dig. It was a consolation prize that was neither consolation nor prize for what turned out to be the biggest ripoff ever. Avoid digging for crystals at the Crystal Seen Trading Company mine. It is a complete and utter swindle. read more
