Another late review but what an amazing purchase!…read more We decided to add drop down blinds to our back porch. After three different bidders, it really wasn't close based upon quality of product and price. Kurt and Michelle were super to deal with even though they were in the middle of trying to depart for their vacation! Smooth ordering process and even smoother installation. Kurt gave me a great recommendation on an electrical contractor and he was also fair on price. The install was a one day event. Clean professional team of Caleb and Harley. They cleaned up after themselves and were very efficient. Very organized and the product has been super. Our family and dog love the back deck porch area. The blinds delivered much needed privacy and have been great when we watch the Bronco games outside. The blinds provide great wind protection as well so starting the Big Green Egg is super easy now. With our space heater, we have been able to sit comfortably outside and enjoy the fantastic Fall weather... Kurt and Michelle have answered all of our questions and were always responsive! Again another great home improvement project that went well!

We have 29 windows so we knew that it was going to be costly. Kayla and Kurt came out, they were very thorough and explained all of our options. I liked that they gave us different options from the least expensive to the most expensive. Letting us decide what we wanted and what would work best for us. They were 100% professional. They are a locally owned business, a husband and wife team. ( Michelle is awesome) They are always available.... They even met with us on a Sunday and answered all of our questions and concerns. These days it is hard to find an honest business that truly cares about you as a person and not just a number. Our blinds have been installed and we love them. Their team is amazing and any minor concerns we have had Harley, Kayla, Michelle and Kurt have addressed them and have solved them in a timely manor. Made in the shade is the smart choice. They have the most competitive pricing and by far they have the best customer service and they truly care about their customers. Don't be fooled by the big box stores. When you call Made in the Shade you get a real person that cares about you and your project.

I called and called and called, left messages and finally received a call back, each and every time. I can't count how many times I had to have his workers come out to repair my awning. Not only did they come out to repair it, each and every time a worker came out it was a different worker. They kept quitting or getting fired, and basically hated what they were doing. Now, it's been 3 years and I've attempted to call his office (the phone is no longer in service). Called his cell number (the number is no longer in service). Called the company's phone and it went to voice mail, but I did get a number to call, so I called it. I believe Ron answered can kept saying "hello, hello, hello". Apparently he either didn't hear me or didn't want to speak with me. I've left messages on his work phone to call me, I've texted him on his cell phone - crickets is all I hear. All I wanted is to have someone come out and adjust this awning since one side is much lower than the other. Sure I can watch Youtube and most likely do it myself, but why?? I thought this thing was under warranty - evidently not! The reason I gave this company a 2 star is I rarely give out 1 stars. I did give it a 5 star when the job was finally completed, but I gave it some thought and I don't believe the overall work was rated even close to 5 stars.

My Experience with Alpine Roofing, Stucco, Windows, and Doors was a "0."…read more Alpine was recommended to me by a friend. I contacted Chris Heet who met with us to discuss the work we needed accomplished. Chris was professional, showed-up early, and talked us through the approach to addressing the work we needed done. He took measurements and advised his business partner, "Gabriel," would send us an official estimate in a couple of days. After 1.5 weeks we had not received an estimate from Gabriel, I reached out to Chris and we received the estimate the next day from Gabriel. The work we needed done was not a big job, and the estimate was for $4.2K to replace a window sill, patch stucco, and color match (paint) around the window. The estimate was not itemized, so I E-Mailed Gabriel if we could get an itemized breakdown of the cost because they wanted a $2.1K deposit and as a customer I wanted to understand the work and materials I was paying for. Again, after 1.5 weeks of no reply from Gabriel, I contacted Chris who informed me Gabriel had been sick. Got it, that stuff happens. Chris said they do not provide itemized estimates, which is not my experience working with other companies. He did explain the cost break down and we agreed to move forward with the work. I just wanted an estimated time frame when the work would be performed. I E-Mailed Gabriel explaining my communications with Chris and we were ready to move forward after we received an a new estimate with projected dates for the work. The next day I received a message from Gabriel explaining he's been sick and that his medical provider advised he needs to keep his stress levels down. Additionally, he explained how Alpine does not provide estimated dates b/ the work we needed done was on the smaller scale ... and that Alpine would not be performing the work we needed done b/c it was too stressful. I recognize my experience with Alpine differs from what others have experienced. However, based on: 1. I had to continuously reengage Alpine for the initial estimate and basic questions. 2. Not providing itemized estimates, so customers know what materials and labor they are paying for. 3. Not providing estimated dates for the work. 4. They led me on for over a month indicating they would perform the work, where if I'd know this type of work was not what they wanted to do or it was too stressful, I could have used that time to find another company who was more honest and willing to do the work. I would recommend others avoid doing business with Alpine and find another company. Any company that is not responsive to customer inquiries, can't itemize their materials and work, provided projected dates for work, etc. raises a lot of red flags.

They also stuccoed the whole house (they were able to negotiate with the insurance company) and also installed a cement patio and replaced part of the walkway. My friends and neighbors have already asked for their number after seeing the jobs that they did for us. Chris and Gabriel are such a delight to work with, honest, punctual, very good at communicating, always letting us know when the job is going to get done, when they're coming, what to expect that day, etc through text or email, can't say enough good things about them. And they know what they're doing which gave us the confidence to trust them.

Horrible company, basically the ambulance chaser of the roofing world! I get called at least 20…read moretimes a day by their robocall syystem. Do not do business with this company, they just want your insurance money for what is very little damage to replace the whole roof. The person that called me (Timothy) spoke very little English. My neighborhood didn't even get hit by hail, yet they want to inspect my roof. Give me a break! If they don't stop calling me, I will make their lives equally as frustrating as they have made mine. Pretty sad when they have to rely on using a robocall system to get business. That alone should tell you all you need to know about them! It's no wonder our insurance costs are through the roof!

I'm choosing 3-stars since anything more than "A-Ok" wouldn't be warranted ("A-Ok" is Yelp's…read moredefinition for 3-stars, while "Yay! I'm a fan" is for 4-stars). If you're shopping for a roofer, read all the reviews here/Angies List/elsewhere...it looks like my experience isn't the norm for these guys. (Update: 3.5 stars. See bottom of review). My experience: The October 2016 hail damage work was finally completed in August 2017. It wasn't too big of a deal since I wasn't in the house (it was rented out), but still...that was a LONG time to complete a job. After it's all done, I can't really rave over the work. It looks a little sloppy compared to my neighbors, but it's under warranty from All Things New, so if anything is wrong it'll be taken care of. Jim said it's "normal" for a roof to look like this, how its wavy and bumpy, how the shingles aren't perfectly straight on the edges (compared with the other 5 houses on my street that had their roof replaced during the same time period). During the repair work one of the workers dropped a ladder and broke one of the windows. Jim took responsibility, but it took so long to get fixed that it wasn't done when we moved into the house. The window sub picked a lower quality window to replace it with, and it doesn't match the pre-existing windows in look or feel (i.e. it feels "cheap" when you open it from the inside). It functions fine, but I shouldn't have to settle for a lower-quality window that a potential homebuyer might have issues with (it faces the street). The window guy had excuses, and Jim was just fine with us having to settle for the cheaper window and didn't want to do anything more about it. Update (9/25/17): the owner, Don, called to follow up and see if he could make it right. He offered to replace the window with another one, or replace a perfectly good window so they'd match. I really appreciate the effort, but at this point we just want to close the job and move on. Perhaps we just had a non-normal experience, so check out All Things New's other reviews which are all glowing. If you go with them, know you can contact Don anytime if you have concerns (I didn't know about him until today). After talking with him, I'm confident this is a good company who just had a "bad day" with our job. It happens.
