This may sound impressive when it's sometimes difficult to find trustworthy and knowledgeable professionals, but this was even during a busy time (tax season). His guidance was incredible that I actually said to him "why didn't I think of that". My only regret is that I didn't know him sooner. PS. Received a voicemail from a woman who identified herself only as Joan and left this phone number and please could I return the call. No company name, no reason for the call, nothing other than please call. Not knowing the reason for the call and thinking it could be personal or family, I returned the call, entered the extension and a male answered the phone. I explained that I was returning a call from Joan and without even asking who I was or why I was calling he goes into a 45 second sales pitch on the accounting firm. Notwithstanding the fact that my office is over an hour north in another state, I listened and then said "I appreciate your call but I think we're pretty well set with accounting needs right now but are always happy to consider all options". There was silence and I thought he was working on a response to my offering of an opening and then I heard the distinctive sounds of a hang up. No "thank you for your returned call", no "thank you for your time", no nothing except a rude hang up without even the courtesy of closing the call that they asked me to place to them. Really? This is how you manage business development and opportunity? Good luck with this! I noticed that prior to me, there were no reviews for this company on yelp and after seeing how they handled the call they asked me to make to them, I can see why.

The things I liked best about working with him: * He came to our house on a Sunday afternoon for the initial consultation - that saved us a lot of time since we have kids and work full-time * He is extremely responsive on email * He isn't too old school - he was able to share files using dropbox, scan paper docs, and generally work with us electronically. WTS is a small operation, and that makes it feel like the staff there really care about you and your particular situation. Every year, I walk in and Ron has my purple file folder in hand; he remembers me and details about my last return to be sure to ask me appropriate questions and make sure I get a good return. I come in, tell the receptionist I'm here (they have evening hours during tax season, which is just awesome), and hand over my pile o'papers to Ron... Usually less than a half hour later, I'm out of there with my return submitted electronically, and a folder with copies of my returns, nicely labelled for my files. The prices are reasonable, and they are good to returning customers and those with multiple returns to file. I cannot say enough good things about Woonsocket Tax Services and Ron in particular; anytime tax preparation comes up in conversation, I recommend them. A wonderful experience (even if you end up owing!) every time!
