I actually have no clue how this place still has donators. Been under staffed for almost 7 months now. I said in the past that I wouldn't be returning to this donation place but this was the last straw. 2+ hours in line even with the new machines is disgusting. They don't even verify VIPs so everyone just says their vip to cut the line. This place is the biggest joke of a company I've ever came in contact with. Told by a staff member that there is nothing they can do. And I need to call corporate I call corporate and get told i need to talk to Corporate. So glad none of them have any idea what they are doing. Every other place ive donated ive never had an issue but moving to Lansing and only having this horrible place to donate plasma is a joke. Dont go here if you can avoid it. read more

These mfs put a goddam golfball size knot on my right arm bcs they fucked up digging around in my arm with a fistula needle and then told me they would stick my other arm to return my cells and let me go I said okay they stuck me then say I have to stay. This location is good in the mornings, but after two in the afternoon it's a zoo. All the new people work in the afternoon evenings.

I use the one on Waverly. Incompetence is the word of the day, every day. The phlebotomists can be bad, really bad, like not properly trained or faked their training bad. One time a phleb. put the needle in at three different directions trying to find an obvious vein. Another, a shift leader, blew through the vein and into the muscle. (The resulting bruise was among the largest I've even had, and I'm a martial artist.) Just today, I had someone tear a vein open, badly enough that they stopped when they saw the immediate bleeding under the skin, paid me even though they took no plasma, bandaged me tightly, and got me out of there. If I didn't need the money I'm getting there to try to start a business, I would never be back. read more

Pros: you get money that you don't have to report Cons: They say it takes 90 minutes to donate. In reality it takes more like 4 hours. This morning there were 9 people in line ahead of me. 25 minutes later there were 6 people in line ahead of me. That was just to take my vitals. If you give twice a week every week and make all of the bonuses then it works out to a little over minimum wage. read more

It's a good way to make some extra cash while feeling good about yourself, I guess. I went because it's near my husband's workplace and I figured "why not" while I was there picking him up and waiting for him to get off work one day. My main issue is that the people in the screening booths do not seem to change their rubber gloves in between clients. It's the same on the floor, I've only seen one tech that changed her gloves in between clients. Also, they kind of treat you like a number. You will see them talking with the "regulars" and stuff but they barely say two words to you while they are hooking you up and unhooking you from the blood draw machines. I think i will stick to donating blood to the Red Cross or Michigan Blood in the future. read more

Csl is nothing but a greedy corporation that stinks from the head to the tail, hires shitty people to work for shit wages, and profits heavily off the bodies of poor people desperate enough to spend 4 hours to make 15 bucks. The patrons of csl are probably the worst part of the plasma donating experience, and the employees are hardly any better. They are unprofessional, rude, and almost equally unsophisticated. If you have an intellectually disabled (or otherwise disabled) friend or family member who needs a way to earn some extra cash, think twice before suggesting they donate at csl. I have seen these poor souls treated so cruelly and inexcusably by csl staff members, I could just cry. One such example involves a woman who was difficult to understand when she spoke, and the phlebotomist sticking her wouldn't bother listening to her, told her "I don't speak crazy" and continually rolled her eyes as she interacted with her. It was clear the woman's feelings were hurt. I personally have also been treated with disrespect and cruelty by csl employees. One freezing evening in february, I went to csl with my girlfriend. I happened to finish donating before she did so I decided to run out to warm the car up while I waited for her. After I left the building, I realized that my girlfriend had the car keys. Unfortunately the building was locked as it was almost 9pm. I spotted an employee holding a door open, leaning out to smoke her cigarette. I thought "thank god I'm not locked out without a coat" and as I walked toward her, she informed me curtly "I can't let you in" I tried to explain my situation, but was met with indifference. I had to suffer in -8 F temperatures for nearly a half hour after losing more than 800mm of blood plasma because of this NAZI of a csl employee. read more

most of the staff is professional but unfortunately to any arent. The building is clean, the wait times aren't to bad. Much better than it used to be and the lines seem to move at a consistent pace. However there is alot that needs to be improved. There is a policy that states if they have reason to believe your high or drunk they can drug test you but it never happens. You have to consent to this policy before you can be screened. But at least 3 visits every month I can smell marijuana in the screening booth from the person that just left and I have witnessed people drinking in the restroom before being screened. I'm not against what people like to do on their own time but I don't want to smell it. Some of the employees will make you wait bc they are either talking to their friends or bc another donor is flirting with them. It's really annoying and unprofessional. There's also a feeling that if you bring up issues to management that your going to get deferred and not be able to donate. Mornings are a tough time to go bc that's when the bulk of people from the homeless shelter come I'm and quite frankly it stinks. It's just very unsanitary and disgusting. Considering employees are known to keep the same gloves on it seems to me like a health Hazzard. Over all its a decent place but these little issues really bring the place down. Thankfully I can just let this stuff go but if this type of stuff really bothers you than yoy may not want to drop in read more
