I think this point there is one of the best sunsets in the city, depending on the time of year, you can see the sun behind the skyline of the downtown. It is worth going up the Cuesta de Moyanos to this point of the Park when the sun sets, just to see the colors of Madrid sky.

It's a small garden area inside ritero park and is full of peacocks. I saw I think 7 or so in there…read moreand a few baby ones. So many of them opened thier feathers seemingly displaying the glorious colors to crowds of people standing and taking pictures. Worth a visit if you are in the park.

I was under the impression from some brochure that it's an archeological museum. It's a museum for…read morerare and ancient books. Perhaps that interests you, but I felt bamboozled. Also, it's extremely confusing to figure out the entrance and the fee (it happens to be free, but that's not obvious).

If you are walking this way to get to Retiro Park, I recommend that you walk this way, past this…read moregrand building. It's quite beautiful, and has many different (gated) areas to it if you walk around the entire block that it occupies to peek inside. I do not believe that you can go inside, but I may be wrong about this.
