I want people to know what these people did to me…read more I came to UConn February 2024 for a routine colonoscopy. I had a long history of colon problems and did this every 5 years. When the procedure was done, I was told I was in great shape and didn't need to come back for 10. Well, 90 days later I was back in their er with abdominal pain. I was given a dose of strong pain meds and when it wore off I was told to leave. I asked what I was to do when the pain returned and was told I was to just go. I have no recall of seeing a doctor that night. 30 days later I was at Manchester memorial complains of the same problem. They did a ct scan and told me that half my colon was infected. I went to icu and was on strong antibiotics for about 30 days. The antibiotics failed to correct the issue and , after 30 days I was transferred to Hartford hospital where my large intestine was removed . I now have a permanent ileostomy. When I complained about this, John Dempsey listened, at first, then my calls went largely unanswered. My life will never be the same. I have diet restrictions, and the starts to kidney disease, "unfortunate side effects ". I will tell my story to anyone who wants to hear it. This hospital is a joke and should be avoided.

It was one of my dream schools back then…read more Thankfully, life had other plans, and I'm forever grateful I ended up at my other dream school, UC Berkeley. But life has a funny way of circling back with plot twists. Over a decade later, I'm thrilled to be admitted to Brown University for my Master's! I joined the inaugural cohort of their Online Master's in Data Science: Policy, Governance & Society. I didn't think I'd get into such a small, competitive program, but I shot my shot. And I got in! I was very fortunate to be able to visit the Brown campus on my own dime for grad school orientation week. Brown clearly takes very good care of its community and students. I enjoyed attending multiple events, meeting fellow Brunonians, and exploring the gorgeous New England campus. Go Bears! Once a Cal Bear, always a Cal Bear. Now officially a Brown Bear too. I was exploring the area, literally, walking around taking in the beautiful scenery on a surprisingly "summer-like" fall day. And as I approached AND walked on the campus, I kept saying to myself, this has got to be a college campus... this is somebody's school. Lol! And just like that - BAM! I walked by a sign that said Brown University. My mouth dropped and I smiled big... chuckling at myself. Everything was so peaceful and well-manicured (as expected from an Ivy League school). For those interested in a business degree, it is an excellent choice and as private universities go, a good value in my opinion. They offer scholarships and assist students with obtaining internships and jobs post graduation. I attended a reception this weekend and was impressed by the dinner, the decor, and the incredibly helpful faculty and staff on site to answer questions from incoming first year students. I think it is a worthy choice for Rhode Island students who want to commute or anyone interested in attending a highlight rated business university with a beautiful campus.

One English major, one molecular bio, one neuroscience + Korean double major, one still deciding but maybe comp sci/ astrophysics This is a magical school. Professors are excellent teachers and tops in their fields. They care about teaching and their students. More science funding than any other small school. More NSF funded professors than any other school. More foreign languages taught than any other school. Best film department in the country. Big telescopes. Yes it's weird and proud of it. Non- conformist students who want to create new ways of solving issues. Diversity university and proud of it. Read President Roth's books and articles. No core coursework outside the major Everyone here did well in high school and took advanced classes. Wes trusts its students to explore the curriculum. The academic freedom makes it easier to double major as well. The city of Middletown has enough to satisfy, but this is not a " college town" and wes knows that. So they provide so much to do that students don't want to leave on the weekend or evenings: theater, movies 4 nights a week, music series, dance series, lectures plus spring fling. Students pile on even more student-run music, dance, theater, clubs, parties. Best housing: more single rooms, more student housing options with kitchens, meal plan that you can use to buy groceries. Bathroom grade: A. Yep, they have plenty of gender neutral and ADA options.

First off prospective students should take these non-student reviews with a grain of salt. They're kinda silly and my review is no exception. Secondly it's unfortunate there are people in this world who hold a grudge against a potential employer simply because a job interview didn't turn out the way they intended. Can you say "sour grapes"? I doubt their employment seeking experience reflects the actual student experience at Wesleyan University in any way, shape or form. Now I don't pretend to know everything about this school. I'll leave that to the REAL students. But I will tell you that the harsh criticism of the school and the town of Middletown is undeserved. It's unfair. How an outsider can walk around a campus and a street for a few days and conclude that others should stay away is beyond me. It's unfathomable. Everyone I know who graduated from Wesleyan loved it. The school holds an exemplary reputation throughout the state of Connecticut. I sometimes hire for my company and I would personally hire a Wesleyan grad any day over some dumb Stanford or UPenn grad. It's a no brainer, especially after my recent experience in dealing with the ilk of people from those two schools. Newsflash for Chrissy; both schools were beat by Columbia in this year's US News ranking. Ha ha.

I am a sophomore here and so far it has been great! The campus is small so you can literally wake…read moreup 10 minutes before a class and get there in time. The main dining hall isn't too good, but the student center food court is great. Most upperclassmen dorms have kitchens so you might not even need a dining plan. Class sizes are generally small, 40 being my largest and 12 being my smallest. All the professors I've had so far have made an effort to know us, and are great at teaching their subjects. The majority of the buildings are new, and the grounds are amazing. There are many ways to get involved around campus, which helps with meeting new people and building friendships. The weekends are usually quiet since a lot of students go home. CAB provides a lot of events so you'll never be bored here. Definitely recommended!

The campus is beautiful and the programs offered are equally challenging and amazing. If given the opportunity I recommend checking the school out. One of the better college tours offered. It is Not just because my nephew is now a member of the tour Dept. All the student tour guides were simply wonderful.
