I woke up the morning of my exam with a fever and a stomach flu. I did not want to interrupt other test takers with my illness, but was also unable to reschedule due to being so close to my exam time. I called and asked about what I should do, to make myself as little a nuisance as possible, to limit my public embarrassment, and ask if the exam could somehow be paused if I was going to be stuck in the bathroom multiple times for long periods, or even need to change clothes. Their staff were extremely professional about this, and took my issue seriously. Their manager A and staff member F, without me even asking about this, were able to get in contact with the organization I was taking the exam with and petitioned them on my behalf to allow me to reschedule. I have worked at this center for two years (would have been longer but I had to move) and I can definitely say that I am impressed with the program. I truly believe in the program. It is personalized and flexible. I had seen students who HATED math begin to understand it, tolerate it, and even LOVE it. The program is flexible enough to accommodate students with learning and developmental disabilities. The main feature about this Mathnasium (and in Darien) that trumps all others is the amazing staff! David is the best employer I've ever had and probably ever will have. His manner of dealing with people is a rare find in today's cut-throat world. Barbara, Elizabeth and Evan were all amazing instructors and co-workers and truly made the center feel like a home away from home for the kids. I would say the biggest complaint we got from the students was that they didn't want to leave! I truly miss Mathnasium of Fairfield, the parents, the students, the atmosphere, everything! I can guarantee you, having seen it hundreds of times, if you bring your child here, they will become more confident, they will improve their math skill and you will find the best value for your money you can find.

In my first class, Christine was so welcoming and caring - it is enthralling to be present in her passion to let everyone be immersed in the joy of pottery. Priscilla is the same in her compassion and knowledge. They are two wonderful women who allow this beautiful place to flourish with incredible art lovers from all walks of life. Members come from all over Fairfield county and beyond - I'm lucky it is in my town. Teaching pottery is difficult because everyone progresses differently and the instructors here do an amazing job or balancing the individual handholding and maintaining order of the class. While I work on my pieces, I get to observe some of the instructors whether they teach a group class or a private tutoring class. To share a few shoutouts: Safiya is fantastic with teens in boot camps - (I just learned that she is starting to teach Friday evening classes!) Julie also is a caring and competent teacher. Cass is an outstanding instructor with a wealth of knowledge; and Kate is such a sweetie, too! All Everyone is here because we love the joy of creativity and respect each other's artistic abilities. I enjoy conversations that accompany creating art across diverse age/gender/backgrounds here. There's something for everyone. The teachers are very attentive, fostering a nurturing and supportive environment where students can thrive. It's a small school, they have limits and a lack of resources like a lack of sports. However, the school truly prioritizes every child's well-being, both academically and emotionally. My kids didn't learn drugs or substances. Never experienced violence. Teachers watched them and intervened for the kinds of provocative situations. We got enough for what we paid for. Overall, it was a good decision for our kids.
