Cuba Cuba has become one of our favorite places to visit in Castle Rock. The food is always good and the vibe is casual, but fun with great music. I've been here a couple times and I've had my dog with me both times so we sit outside on the patio. I appreciate that they're dog friendly. We've always been greeted and seated right away. Our servers have been attentive and they always provide great recommendations. We've tried their cuban nachos (tostachos), fish and chips with yuca fritz (my personal favorite so far), the vaca frita, the ropa vieja, flan, and 3 leches cake and they've all been a hit. This is my second time eating dinner at Cuba Cuba and I just love this little spot. Anytime I visit Colorado I have to visit this restaurant. We were a party of three adults and one toddler. Arrived around 5:30 p.m. on Monday and was greeted and sat immediately. Our server was super friendly even though she was one of the only servers and had many tables to tend to. The food is close to authentic Cuban. I love the plantain chips and dip and I always get the picadillo. This was our first time getting the flan and my goodness it was delicious. You have to have a cortado as well. Sometimes they have live music and when the weather is nice it is always a good idea to sit outside. Vaca Frita was spectacularly made with an amazing Mojo marinade. As a Garlic/Onion lover, this plate was spectacularly made. Black beans were on point. White rice was so amazing. The tostones? They were made perfectly. Most tostones in Colorado Springs were dry but going up to castle rock to try this? I rate the tostones 9/10. Only because I expected it to be salted but based on demographics, I understand why they didn't. The tostadas has an amazing crunch with a soft center and a flavorful butter or oil or whatever they used as a spread. Made me miss my home in Puerto Rico. The daiquiri was definitely in point. I like my alcohol mix on the little stronger side. This hits the spot. Perfect mix. Perfect balance. Server was super nice and asked for the input in food constantly. Truly amazing service. The location of Cuba Cuba was easy to find. Off the freeway I followed my gps. I actually walked there from where I parked. The e parking lot as quite a few parking spots as it is shared with other establishments. First time at this establishment as my date picked this spot. I am an adventurous person so why not. Sat at the bar and ordered an espresso martini. The bartender was attractive and friendly ! Since this was the first time visiting I asked for suggestions. Overall, this place was great and one of my first times trying out Cuban food. I'll start off by saying the service definitely saved this dining experience. I personally lit enjoyed the mojo fries and empanada. However, The vaca Frida was horrible. It was burnt and too tough to chew. I ended up trying the pan con lechon sandwich instead. When they asked me how I liked the vaca Frida, I was honest and told them how it was. They were extremely apologetic and took this off of my bill which I appreciated. I picked Mango today & it is not disappointed. We ordered iced & frozen version of Pina Colada and agreed that frozen version blended alcohols better than the ordinary iced one. From seating to serving, the service flows well. When I asked for extra condiments to eat with my entree, my sweet waitress just brought them all for me. The salsa verde one is my most favorite! Came to Cuba Cuba CR - have always been patron of the OG and their "cafes" are OK. I liked that they had a full service restaurant closer to the south side. I got the Vaca frita and it was good. It didn't feel the same as the OG but close. My son got the chicken tenders kids plate- which was super cute and big. Will probably be back again. Our waiter was really friendly and helpful. My sister and i researched restaurants that had great reviews on fish and chips. This restaurant got the best so sent in an online order thru a third party. Food arrived hot and nice.. except missing an item. We put in a call explaining their situation and that we did not have a vehicle. The manager offered us a second order at no charge. I had never been to Cuba Cuba so I thought it would be a good idea to try something new. The space is neat with the roll up seats and nice combination of booths and open style seating. The space was clean and service prompt. The ceviche which was braised in a coconut purée and served with air dryed plantain chips was a standout, as well as the mojito - perhaps the best hour drink I've consumed in dinner. In addition, I would mention that the sitting is limited, so prepare to have a wait. Service: All employees are willing to assist as I had the bartender as my waiter on this visit. She was very knowledgeable about the drinks and the menu. In addition, they were willing to accommodate all guest with big and small parties. My husband and I had a great experience here for lunch on Saturday. It was my first time visiting and I was really touched by the warm greeting from Elias- he was so hospitable. The server assigned to our table seemed overwhelmed and so Elias noticed and came back over to take our order which we appreciated too. The ambiance of the restaurant is really cool- there is even cool wallpaper on the ceiling in the restrooms! We tried the three plantain combo as an appetizer and they were really good. I got the Pan Con Pollo chicken sandwich and it was SO GOOD. I loved it! My husband got the Pan Con Lechon and also really enjoyed his. We were told that the bread is flown in from Miami- wow! I had a side of black beans and rice and my husband had the mojo fries which are skinny fries with garlic. I really enjoyed their homemade blackberry lemonade (but it was served in a plastic cup with a lid and was full of ice- it went very quickly and there are no free refills on it) and my husband enjoyed his Florachino iced Cuban coffee. We also couldn't resist the tres leches for dessert which I actually didn't love but am glad I tried it. Gabriella also helped us- she was in training and was very lovely. Native Floridian here so I know my Cuban food especially because I love Caribbean food. One thing about moving out of state is that you do miss foods you could easily find at home. While it is great the many Mexican restaurants in the Denver Metro area finding a good Cuban restaurant is very reminiscent of home. The food here is overall good and love the flavors. I got an empanada with the lechon plate. My husband got a Cuban with no ham, extra pork and fries. We split some Cuban toasted bread on the side. All was very good and so tasty. We just moved to Castle Rock and it is a God send that this place is close to us to visit often. The service was helpful and friendly and this is such a cute place indoors (love the wall art) and outside. Great place to visit and we for sure will be regulars here. Not sure what they have changed, but the food has gotten significantly better. The food is definitely seasoned and more authentic than the past. My only gripes (minor) were that the croquetas are too heavily onion battered and not flavorful and the tres leches could use a little soak before serving and more goat milk. We tried this place once for restaurant week but finally went to dine in. Overall, the place wasn't too busy when we came around 6pm and we got seated pretty quickly. It took a little bit for the server to come take our orders but not as long as it did for her to bring a drink out :( we had to remind her about the daiquiri we ordered. We ordered mojo fries ($7), vaca frita ($22), and lechon asado ($20). I don't like beans so I subbed for slaw which got me a $2 charge. I think it's a little lame considering I was subbing but at least she did tell me ahead of time when I asked what I was able to sub with. I was a little thrown off when I got my vaca frita since the menu says steak and I saw what looked like brisket instead but the flavor was good! The plantains were a sweet burst of flavor that added to the dish really well. The lechon asado seemed to lack some flavor but I only tried a bite of it so it could've just been a spot that happened to not have as much flavor? The fries are supposedly rated the best fries in Denver and so far I can agree! The fries are garlicky and were great on their own. They didn't really need the ketchup. It came in a bowl that had a lot of fries in it. We left stuffed and satisfied. The only reason why I took off a star was because the service was kinda slow and the steak wasn't actually steak. The Camarones Al Coco is not to be missed, with its very flavorful coconut broth and my hubby loved his Fish and Chips Con Yuca Frita. The Tostones had a delicious garlic seasoning and a lime spritzed on top completed the dish perfectly. The Cuban coffee was creamy, sweet, and was a nice way to finish the meal. Extremely Disappointed - Longtime Customer Let Down by Terrible Service I'm writing this review with deep disappointment after experiencing truly awful customer service from Cuba Cuba in Castle Rock last night. As a Cuban-American and someone who has been a loyal customer since this location opened, I've always appreciated the authentic flavors they brought to Colorado. Unfortunately, that positive impression has now been overshadowed by an appalling experience. I placed a delivery order directly through the restaurant's website at 7:00 p.m., and received a confirmation stating my food would arrive around 7:19 p.m. A few minutes later, I received a text saying a DoorDash driver was on the way to pick up the order. That was the first sign something was off. At 7:50, after tracking showed no progress, I contacted the driver, who told me he waited at the restaurant but the food was never given to him. I then called the restaurant and spoke with a manager named Manny, who was, quite honestly, one of the rudest and most unhelpful managers I've ever encountered. Despite explaining that I ordered directly from Cuba Cuba and not through DoorDash, Manny repeatedly and dismissively told me the food had been handed off to the driver and it was no longer their responsibility. He refused to listen, talked over me, and when I brought up the basic principle of customer service, he abruptly hung up on me. My guest and I never received our order, and instead ended up eating frozen Trader Joe's fried rice and orange chicken at 9:00 p.m.--an embarrassing substitute after promising my guests a special Cuban dinner. It's shocking that a business that once prided itself on authentic food and community would be so unwilling to take accountability for a failed order--especially when the issue stemmed from their own third-party delivery setup. I've supported this restaurant for years, but after last night, I'm not sure I'll ever return. Customer service matters just as much as good food--and sadly, both were missing here. read more

When you're craving Cuban in Colorado Springs, your choices are pretty limited. Being Cuban & knowing Cuban food, you tend to be more critical than someone who didn't grow up with it. The place is super cute. I loved the decor and the vibe. Service was quick and friendly. We were a party of three. We ordered the Tostacha to start and 4 croquetas. The Tostacha was great. We enjoyed the flavor blend of the ingredients. Even the sweet beans worked well mixed with everything else. Though not totally Cuban, it all worked. This would also go great with Mariquitas. The croquetas are the frozen variety, sold in supermarkets. Ours were still cold in the middle. My husband & I shared a Vaca Frita with black beans, rice & maduros. The portion size is about 1/2 of what we are used to, but we weren't starving. So it worked out well. In Miami, we share a plate and still have leftovers. The vaca Frita was good, the maduros as well. The beans had a weird, sweet flavor that we did not enjoy. Our daughter had the Cuban Sandwich with fries which was good as well. Nicely pressed with melty cheese. For dessert we had the Tres Leche. Not Cuban at all, but we enjoy it. So decided to try. This wasn't a true Tres Leche. It provided the little something sweet that we were craving, but we weren't thrilled. All in all, this place does provide the bit of Cuban that we all crave while here. So we will return. read more

Came for dessert and an appetizer and ordered mojo fries no mojo an ice tea and my husband ordered the bread pudding. My fries were brought to me with the Mojo I wasn't going say anything because it's just an order of fries, but the server noticed that the order was wrong and brought me fries with no Mojo without me even complaining. Had a nice meal a few days ago at Cuba Cuba. The plantains were yummy. I feel like the Ropa Viejo was better the last time I had it, but then again I may be remembering the wrong dish. Honestly I'm not sure. The service was great; very friendly and helpful. And the meals are large if mildly pricey. So you don't have to buy a lot to get full. As entrees we had the Fish & Chips with Yuca Fries and the Lechon Asado with Maduros and both were excellent and very flavorful. So much flavor.
